The Monster is Born

[The Village of Seedal]

POV

"Darkness...Only darkness. Now a chill and then warmth, I do not cry and it worries them. I can hear them talking about me, I open my eyes to a bright light, my vision is blurred and as the midwife looks into them she screams."

"KYAAAA!!!"

"Re.. his eyes are red."

Hearing the midwives words, the mother is quickly worried.

"No.. that can not be, my baby give me my baby."

As I'm handed to her my vision clears, and the first face I'm to see is my mothers filled with fear. Tears slowly streak down her face and she begins to shout.

"WHY!!... WHY MY CHILD!!"

As I wonder why these 2 women are afraid of me I hear footsteps rushing towards me. As I look to where the sound is coming from a big man burst through the door yelling.

"What is it whats wrong Tara!"

As he rushes up to us he immediately realizes what the problem is.

"No!"

As the mother looked towards her husband, in a lifeless voice she said.

"He has them, he has the eyes."

The man slowly begins to back into a corner and as his head drops down he begins to sob.

" It's not fair."

As he repeats himself over and over the midwife in a trembling voice

"Kill it, we have to kill it."

The midwife begins to approach the newborn with mana quickly building up in her hand, and as she closes in the man intervenes jumping in front of her

"NO!"

He immediately slaps her hand away and then pushes her out the door.The midwife still shocked.

" We have to."

"If you come near my child ill kill you.Now Leave!"

The man's face looks to be quite twisted with anger and the midwife seeing this runs away as quick as she can.

" It's my fault, I did this."

" Tara honey of course it not. its no ones fault, it's.. it's just fate."

" But just look at him Kai.He doesn't even cry, what's wrong with him.What is he?"

Looking at his still crying wife he slowly caresses her head and then the baby's as well.

"He's ours, so what if he has red eyes so what if he doesn't cry he's still ours."

" I. bu..but."

In a soothing voice, kai asks his wife.

" Tara close your eyes."

" But."

" Honey, please."

Seeing her husband's face soften she slowly closes her eyes, and when she does kai takes her hand and places it on their sons face, gently stroking it.

" This is our son, our boy."

Tara slowly feels her son's face, his soft hair his eyes his small nose and his delicate lips.She opens her eyes and starts to cry even louder.

"Yes!"

" No matter what we love him."

" Yes!"

Finally calm tara begins to feed her newborn baby.

"Kai what about the villagers? they'll try to take him, try to kill him."

" if they try anything ill kill them."

Worried Tara bellowed.

" You can't you'll die."

" Tara I'm in the 5th rank warrior stage who in this village can even scratch me."

"What if they take our son hostage what then?"

" They won't."

"But what if they do. what then huh? then your rank will mean nothing and our son our ss."

" Tara stop!! its okay, we'll be okay."

" How, how will we be safe. I'm scared I don't want anything to happen to you to our son."

" I..we'll leave.we take our things and we'll leave tonight."

"Where."

" I don't know just relax for a moment I'll heal you and we'll get our things packed and leave tonight."

As he said that Tara calmed down a bit more and stopped crying, Kai quickly circulated mana throughout his whole body and directed it into his hand where it gathered in his palm.His hand shined a violet blue light and as it did he slowly placed it on his wife.Her body slowly absorbed the beautiful violet blue and as she did her wounds rapidly healed and the light faded away.

Tara now thinking a little more clearly asked.

"What do we name him?"

"Well his eyes are crimson, so how about crims."

"That's a terrible name."

Shocked at his wife's quick mood change and the serious look on her face he began to laugh innocently while rubbing the back of his head.

Seeing her husband laugh when the mood just a second ago was crazy she also started laughing while looking at her silly husband.

After a while, they both calmed down and tara said.

" Kai, how about Sen?

Kai looked at her sideways not getting it and then it clicked.

"Sen..crimson ...crim-sen... sen oooh my wife's a genius."

" Settle down Kai. "

She said with another serious tone.

*PTFFF hahaha*

They both began laughing again.

[Outside there home in the small village.]

The midwife quickly spread the news of the terrifying monster with red eyes. Some couldn't believe it while others cursed Kai and his family, and so the people quickly got scared.

As the sun was going down, in the corner of the village.

[Village Chiefs House]

Sitting in a wide room, several men were gathered around a long table. While one man walked to the fireplace and threw another log on, they began to discuss. The first to speak up was a tall well built man.

" We have to kill the child."

"But we don't even know if it's true."

Another man that had clearly seen too many days in the sun began to speak.

"You know its true why else would kai be packing his things, they're trying to leave.Probably tonight if not tomorrow."

"We can't just kill the child, kai would surely come for revenge."

"But even if we fight can any of us kill him kai is at the 5th rank warrior stage."

"Well, what do you suggest we just leave the demon be when he causes a calamity will you take responsibility."

" I...um."

" Leave him alone were all thinking the same, I've seen kai lift a tree with his bare hands do you really think you or I or any of us can handle that."

" But the child, if it truly is the spawn of a demon then it will be all of our destruction we will die."

Immediately arguments erupted, name calling and soon swords started to be drawn, until.

*BANG!!*

At the end of the table an old man had slammed his fist down putting a long crack from where his fist had landed all the way to the other end of it, causing the table to crumble in front of all the men.

"Ch..chief."

"Have you all forgotten where you are!!"

The chief started shouting.

" How dare you draw swords in my home!"

Witnessing this scene the men all started sheathing their weapons and apologized.

" Chief, what do we do.

" I am at the 4th warrior rank remember we simply combine our strengths and we'll easily kill that demon. First we confirm whether or not his eyes are red, if so we kill the child and his parents.if not then they leave and we'll discuss this no more."

" But what if we can't beat Kai even with our combined strength."

"The chief now glaring shouted."

" Then we take the wife and child hostage and we kill them all that way. Do you understand?"

"y..yes"

"Do you all understand?"

" Yes, chief."

one more man stood up he wore his sword truly like an amateur and any who looked at him could tell at a glance he was a coward he spoke up

"If the child is a demon and we let it escape from here if anyone were to find out that it came from Seedal. Our village would never recover."

All the men came to the same conclusion. No matter what, if the child truly did have red eyes then it must be destroyed or their village would fall.As the group of men finished scheming they set out towards Kai's house quickly gathering more men from around the village as well as more swords.

[Kai's Household]

As kai finished packing his cart, Tara with little Sen in her arms climbed aboard and with the last of their things kai climbed on as well. Just as he whipped his horse to start to take off he heard the sound of yelling behind him. Ignoring the shouts knowing it was nothing good they looked forward and kept going until he heard a booming voice from behind.

"KAI!!!!! STOP!!!!!"

End of Chapter 1

Chapter 2|| To The Death

"KAI!!!!! STOP!!!!!"

Startled by the booming shout, Kai stopped the cart to see who yelled. Looking in the direction of the shout about 100 meters back, Kai saw the village chief along with at least a dozen men running towards them frantically.

"Keep going Kai don't stop."

" You're right it could only be trouble."

Once again, Kai whipped the horse but this time with a little more force.The horse let out a cry and began to set off. Seeing this the village chief sped up dramatically and in only a matter of seconds was right next to the horse.Suddenly....

*SHIIINNNGGG*

A quick slash and the horses head flew a few meters. As the horse's body fell to the ground Kai reacting as quickly as he could grabbed his wife and child and flipped into the air just before the cart crashed.Landing as soft as a leaf, he looked at the old man with surprise and anger.He's known the chief since he was a young boy and the chiefs always been kind and gentle, but today he had a look of savagery on his face seeing this man who he looked up to suddenly attack him brought confusion and anger along with many other emotions, Kai screamed.

" What is the meaning of this!"

The chief without batting an eye said.

" You know why Kai. Now I will only ask you this once, it's eyes, are they red?"

" You would do this?..... You would actually do this?"

"Kai I've known you nearly all your life, you would never endanger the village like this that's why it saddens me that you would choose to be so selfish.Now answer me!"

By this time, the other men have already caught up and have surrounded the couple and their child. 3 behind and 3 on each side including the village chief 4 men in front of them.

Tara was filled with fear clutching Sen in her arms.

Seeing all the men that he once called friends surround him Kai's mind was constantly flashing danger.

" Kai what do we do..........Kai."

"Your silence is confirmation enough, MEN!!"

Kai in a whispered tone said.

"Tara when I kill the 3 behind us you immediately take Sen and run into the forest."

" Kai what about you.......kai?"

"Tara, I love you"

Kai rushed behind him and instantly took 1 of the 3 men's heads off and with the momentum from the first continued into a spin and cut another's left leg clean off.While trying to strike the next man he was blocked by the 3rd man who actually reacted in time however given kai's 5th stage warrior strength he cut cleanly through the man's sword into his left side cleaving the man in half. These 3 strikes all took less than a second to perform.

" Run!!"

Tara shocked at the men's deaths remembering that only yesterday she called them neighbors, she was unable to process what was happening until...

" TARA RUNNN!!!"

Hearing her husband roar like a beast she was immediately snapped back into reality.She ran to the forest as quickly as she could soon disappearing into the thick brush.

"Get the boy!"

2 of the men ran around kai towards the forest, but kai quickly got behind them and cutting one down along his spine killing the man instantly.Before he could cut the second one down he felt a surge of bloodlust at his back. He sensed the enemies blade streaking to the back of his neck, but just before it reached him kai rose his blade to protect it. In doing so, the other man fled after his wife and child.

" NOOOO!!"

As Kai went to chase he felt the blood lust once again, defending himself this time the blade came towards his eyes and once again barely blocking the blade.

" Where do you think you're going, Kai?"

Kai roared

" OLD, MAN!!"

The remaining 8 men hesitantly encircled kai each drawing ever closer step by step.

The chief in a booming voice called out.

" Everyone attack at the same time he can't take all our blades at once.

Fighting for nearly 20 minutes kai started realizing that it was true he couldn't keep this up.He quickly tried to think of a way to escape, so he could save his wife and son.

Kai's POV:

"DAMN DAMN DAMN!! there must be a way there must. If it were not for this old man I'd have no trouble with these weaklings. but what can I do something, there must be some way."

Just as the men started to lunge at him,his mind clicked.

"That's it."

Kai jumped to the one closest to him and with a quick side step avoided the blade followed by his own quick thrust he killed the man instantly. As the blades quickly approached at his back instead of trying to avoid them he took each and every one of them. 8 intensely sharp burning pains shot through him, immediately coughing up mouthfuls of blood at the same time he quickly used his mana to heal his back encasing each sword in bone making them all stuck.

" What!"

Due to they're shock they were momentarily distracted Kai quickly took his own sword and with a quick spin cut them all down in a flash. One by one they each dropped, blood spurting everywhere, the ground quickly became a red pool of blood and mud.

Kai nearly exhausted from the excessive use of mana combined with the drawn out battle, after pulling the 8 swords from his back and healing himself he was nearly tapped, both physically and mentally. Just as he started heading towards the forest he felt a sharp pain once again in his back, as he turned to see who had stabbed him. An expression of shock appeared on his face.

"Chief you."

The village chief wasn't dead yet.It appears at the last moment the chief swayed backward not avoiding the injury completely, but taking nothing fatal either and played dead to get an attack in when kai turned towards the forest.

Kai quickly turned around to defend himself but because of the new wound and the exhaustion he could not defend himself properly and his right arm was cleaved off.Gritting his teeth from the pain until 2 of his teeth chipped he relaxed a bit as he forced some mana into his stump to stop the bleeding. The chief taking a step closer to finish him off was surprised to see kai smiling.

"Finally accepting your fate I see, it's only natural th."

Before the chief could finish his words kai quickly spit into his eyes.

" Sonuva."

Kai, momentarily blinding the old man quickly gave a leg sweep, because of all the blood on the ground the mud easily took the chiefs balance. Without it kai's exhausted self would not have toppled the chief. With kai's other arm, he quickly grabbed another sword from the ground and in one clean motion severed the chiefs head killing him for good this time.

Kai with his remaining mana healed over the stump on his right arm and the hole in his back completely draining the last of it.Panting and heaving for breath with an extremely pale face he stumbled into the forest heading in his wife's direction.

" Please.....please be alive!"
