《The Lost Archon》Epilogue

"Hello, everybody!" I wave to the camera with my left hand.
It's my left wrist that has my [Experience Lock Bracelet], along with three black leather bracelets around it, and there are five more bracelets around my right wrist. The metal bracelet shifts a little as I wave, the crystals catching the sunlight a bit.
Today was supposed to be cloudy here on Yggril, but what's the weather to a fully-fledged [Archon]? Or to someone who knows how to bribe the world with cookies?
To reflect the sunny, late-spring weather, I'm dressed in just my boots and a pair of black shorts, showing off my light muscle definition and golden tan. In addition to the bracelets around my wrists, I also have on a few necklaces, including a black cord with a wolf's fang carved out of a violet crystal hanging from it, a small, light green crystal set into its tip. Silver and gold runes are etched into the three black beads to either side of the fang, and the necklace has a silver clasp at the back of it to create the loop of the cord.
It's my favorite necklace, a symbol of my relationship with Terrence, who's wearing an identical one, himself. They're actually a form of engagement between us, in the style of my parents' time.
"Here on Yggril, it's nice and sunny!" I say. "Perfect for all sorts of adventures and fun! And as you'll notice, this is a live stream, not a video! For the first time ever, I'm broadcasting everything live! Just graduated high school yesterday and am celebrating things today with a super special stream for everyone!
"That's right, folks from Earth!" I gesture with my left hand, electricity forming above my palm. "You get to see that magic is real, and these… aren't special effects!"
I let the lightning magic fade away. There's been a lot of confusion in the comments of my videos about whether or not this is more of me acting with special effects or if magic is real or not. Most people are agreeing that it's just special effects in the videos and pictures, but some people believe that the magic is real – that this world is real.
The government doesn't know what to do with us. They already knew that magic is real and so knew my videos likely were as well, and so they approached us after I started uploading these videos. All of the magic they had seen before was weak and faint, nowhere near what we in my family can do. We let them know that we're mages who bridge gaps between worlds, and as long as they leave us alone, we'll leave them alone.
Since we don't cause problems, they leave us alone.
I did still let them know ahead of time about today. This video and my actions today is basically me confirming to the world that magic is real. My parents agreed to it, since they detected signs that Earth's mana veins were awakening and he was beginning to reach the stage where magic will flow into the world more prominently in the next few years.
That is, we have less than ten years before modern tech stops working. It's best to prepare things ahead of time, and since I can have fun while doing that, I'm having fun. The major governments of Earth were warned as well, though not by us.
Us telling them was just confirmation to them.
"There's more to today's special stream than that, though!" I say. "For look who's with me!"

I turn the camera around to face Lyssa and Nick, who are looking around in awe. In the distance, my parents' tower can be seen, and off to the side, there are townsfolk here to watch.
"That's right, folks!" I say. "I brought with me my two closest friends, Lyssa and Nick! If you don't know them, go check out their own channels! Links below! I brought them here to Yggril with me, their phones modified to work here instead of suffering an energetic death! Let's go on a tour!"
I lead Lyss and Nick into town, showing off all of the spots that Terrence and I like to hang out at when we're here, introducing them to many of the people around. When we visit the Adventurer's Guild, Sera comes out for a twenty-minute interview. It was planned, of course, but I didn't tell her any of the questions my friends would have – or that I would ask.
My friends look out of place here with their Earth clothes, but I didn't think it would be good for them to change – so that they stood out. They aren't from Yggril, and the point of this stream is to show that things are real. I can see a lot of people in the comments confused about how we're managing all of the effects and everything. Plenty are wondering how they can't spot any signs that the beastkin are wearing costumes and gear to give them that appearance.
Many seem to be wondering about magic's authenticity, too.
"A lot of people are having questions!" I say as we leave town to enter the fields again. "And I forgot that the slimes would just respawn while we were in town! I killed them all off before we went in! Look! Slimes!"
I gesture with my right hand a wave of violet power washes over the field, destroying all of the slimes in sight. Plenty of slimes out of sight, too.
"And now they're gone!" I say. "Alright, everyone! So regarding the questions, I'll answer them in a live stream Q&A session later! For now, though, something awesome is about to happen!"
We reach the designated point outside of town, far enough away to avoid potential complications.
"Here it comes, everyone!"
A dragon lands behind me, a majestic beast that towers over me, his scales a rich, metallic purple, his eyes a bright gold. He lets out a massive roar with his wings stretched out before he tucks them in, and Terrence jumps off the back.
He's dressed in his usual outfit of black pants and boots, though his tunic has been swapped for a purple one, still tied around his waist. He wears several bracelets on each wrist, an amulet, and our engagement necklace.
"It's my boyfriend, Terrence!" I say. "Riding our pet dragon! And look who he brought with him!"
A five-year-old wolfkin with blond hair jumps off of our dragon, followed by a seven-year-old with brown hair, and finally, an eight-year-old catkin with grey hair. They're all dressed identically, with purple tunics, black pants, and black boots. They're all actually wearing the tunics, too. The boys like to imitate Terrence and me and either go completely without or just with their tunics tied around their waists.
I'm glad Terrence convinced them to actually put their tunics on properly for this.
"It's everyone's favorite boys!" I say. "Ethan, Martin, and Liam! Come on over, boys!"
The boys rush over to me with Terrence right behind them, and I ruffle the kids' hair while still focusing on the camera. I named them in reverse order of them jumping off of the dragon and into Terrence's arms, so oldest to youngest.

"Did you think my friends from Earth were the only ones getting to visit another world today?" I ask. "Well, think again! Because I'm taking my boyfriend and our sons to Earth!"
Well, our adopted sons, but that difference doesn't matter in any way.
"Sorry, big guy," I tell our pet. "But you can't come to Earth just yet. That would cause way too much of a panic."
The dragon huffs a bit, but nods.
"On second thought, who can deny magic is real when they see a dragon flying around?" I ask as I open up a [World Gate] big enough to fit the dragon through.
The government asked me not to bring my pet over, but he promised me he would behave. Why would I take my boyfriend and sons on a trip but not our pet? What kind of monster do they think I am?
"By the way," I say. "For those of you just tuning in to this channel and don't know, dragons were believed extinct on this world! Or at least, this section of it! Up until I found some eggs of theirs on the western part of this continent about a year ago! Though the big boy here isn't a baby one, he's actually fifteen years old! Don't think of dragons as intelligent life, though they do have some intelligence! This big boy is my pet, and we're in the process of hatching some of his little siblings so that my kids can have their own pet dragons!"
My parents are vehemently opposed to that plan, but it's happening anyway.
"Let's go!" I say.
We travel through the [World Gate], which takes us to the parking lot of the mall in my town. There's a park nearby, and I can see quite a few of the people there staring as we step through. Them and those in the parking lot.
As I pass through the [World Gate], my boots change to black sneakers with purple accents and laces, a purple sleeveless shirt forming on me. That was my own magic, not some magic innate to the spell or anything. Terrence pulls on his tunic after stepping through, and our pet stretches its wings and takes off into the sky.
"Let me show you guys the wonders of a mall!" I tell my boyfriend and sons.
I lead them into the mall, making sure to catch their reactions with the camera as we go through it. With the money I have, buying them what they want isn't too much of an issue, either, so I don't hold back if they see stuff they like.
It doesn't take very long for people to start following us around, including people who were watching the stream – some of them are actually commenting on it. That's helping lend some authenticity to this, though there are still doubters.
"Thank goodness," Nick says. "We waited for the clothing shops until last."
Terrence and the boys are having fun trying on our clothes. I refrained from taking Earth any Earth clothes over to Yggril with me specifically so that they can do this. A few times, Terrence or one of the boys will leave a changing room without a shirt to ask something about the one they want to try on (like the button-ups Ethan wanted to give a try). Because of that, the fact that their tails really are attached to their bodies becomes clear on stream and to those who are here.
"We knew they'd want to try on a bunch of stuff," I grin at him. "And I'm actually hungry, we forgot about lunch. And speaking of that, viewers, we'll be going back to my house for dinner! Just as soon as I pay for the clothes everyone picked out!"
"Can you pay for mine, too?" Nick asks, and I lightly slug in him the arm, causing him to laugh.
The cashier kind of stares at Terrence's ears for a few moments after we put the clothes he and the boys picked out on the counter. I let it go a little, then clear my throat as I try not to laugh.
"Those really are real," she comments, and Terrence wiggles them a little, causing her to jump. "Oh!"
"Terrence!" I laugh. "What was that for?"
"Sorry," he grins back, tail wagging happily as the boys giggle. "Couldn't resist!"
"Dork," I ruffle his hair, making sure to mess with his ears. "And yeah, they're real. This is a world-traveling tourism show we're doing! Lyssa and Nick here visited their world and checked out some of their stores, and now these awesome guys here to check out ours! You're on a live stream!"
We already got permission for the live stream, before today started, but I don't think they actually realized how serious we were. She asks a few questions as she rings us up, and I let Terrence and the boys answer them.
Then we pay, and I open up a [Gate] to take them home, making sure to only allow my friends and family through it. A few of those following us want to come, but I make sure they don't before I close the [Gate]. We exit onto the back deck, where Dad is grilling up brats and burgers and Mom is preparing some sides to go with them.
"How did it go?" Mom asks.
"Great!" I answer. "Everyone, you know my parents, right? Just like me, they're powerful [Archon]s on the verge of godhood, and they're keeping themselves there so they can continue to enjoy the mortal life! I'm not planning on ascending until Terrence can as well and all of our boys are all grown up! Depending on how many more we adopt, that could be quite awhile!"
"We got a phone call," Dad tells me as he flips the burgers. "About you bringing your pet over after you were asked not to."
"Why would I leave my pet dragon behind when taking the family on a trip?" I ask. "He's not just like a pet to us, he's also like a car! It was thanks to him that we were able to visit the other [Archon] on Yggril as quickly as we did, too!"
Without the dragon, crossing the ocean would have been annoying. For different reasons, he's able to travel between Yggril and his home world at will, so finding out he was on Yggril was kind of neat.
Dad just rolls his eyes and returns his attention to making dinner for us. I open a [World Gate] so that Silvia and her boys can come through, and then I introduce them to the new viewers.
I hand Lyssa the camera, then talk with Mom and ask my boyfriend and boys questions about their visit to Earth, and I can spot one of my neighbors peering over the fence. He's our age and graduated with us yesterday. I give him a small wave and he waves back, then returns to watching some. We weren't friends, but we do have a good relationship with each other.
The kids all start playing around in the back yard after this, wrestling around and just roughhousing in general, as boys are wont to do.
As we start setting out plates and everything, there's an unexpected guest appearance. The most powerful being on Earth showed up: Earth himself. He looks like an athletic twelve-year-old boy with slightly-curly, dark brown hair, and he's dressed in blue swim trunks and a green sleeveless, a pair of green slides on his feet and a set of black-framed sunglasses over his eyes.
"Yo," he says as he puts his sunglasses on top of his head, revealing his sapphire-blue eyes.
I've only met Earth once, and was surprised to find out he was a boy considering all the references to him as a female in media and stuff. He explained that while he's a boy, most of the planets in our solar system are girls. Earth also apparently has a love-hate relationship with the Moon (also a boy).
"Who is that?" Liam asks me, my youngest son snuggling closer on the bench of the picnic table. "He feels powerful."
"Remember Yggril?" I ask and Liam nods. "This is this world."
"Whoa," Liam's eyes widen. "Hi, Earth."
"'Sup?"
Liam gives me a confused look, and I ruffle his hair.
"Didn't expect to see you today, Earth," I say.
"I'm on camera!" He grins at me, then waves at the camera, which Lyssa is holding now. "Hi, everybody living on me! Big news for you: my magic is waking up, and Jason makes the best cheeseburgers I've ever eaten!"
Unlike Yggril, Earth shows up everywhere. He keeps popping into places just to eat food, even though he doesn't need to eat. Being Earth, he can also replicate currency at will, and I decided upon hearing about it that I'm not going to argue with him about the legality of that.
He's literally the world itself. If he wants to eat food, he's going to eat food.
Earth takes a seat next to me and tickles Liam a little, causing my youngest son to giggle. My parents serve up dinner, and Lyssa makes sure to capture the Yggrilians' reactions to the food. They all love the burgers, salad, fries, and more that's served, and they especially like the strawberry lemonade.
Liam drinks so much of it that he has to go pee almost as soon as we finish eating.
"Alright, everyone!" I say. "The Q&A will be tomorrow instead, this live stream went longer than I expected! Have a good day, and enjoy the reality of the world!"
"And it's that I'm the coolest guy around," Earth pops his face up in front of the camera. "Peace out!"
Lyssa laughs as she ends the stream, then Earth looks at the other boys.
"Who wants to play in the pool?" He asks.
All of the boys raise their hands, and their clothes immediately switch to just swim trunks as Earth's sleeveless and slides disappear. That is an abuse of his power, but it's perfectly acceptable given the circumstances.
"Then let's go play!"
He chases the kids into the pool, and I just laugh and sit beside Terrence.
"So?" I ask him. "How did you like Earth?"
"Quite well," he answers. "Though I definitely prefer Yggril. I can see why you wanted to come back here, though."
"Yeah," I lean my head against his shoulder. "I like both worlds, and I'm glad I can have them."
"Same here," he wraps an arm around me. "Hey, where'd your mom and Silvia go?"
"They're in Mom's room," I answer. "Mom mentioned something about showing her swimsuits."
"Okay," he leans his head against mine. "Should we take the boys home once they wear themselves out?"
"Nah," I answer. "Let them spend the night here. There's still a lot to introduce you guys to, you know."
"Like computers," he nods. "Though the phone you gave me is quite nice."
"Thanks," I say. "It only took me a month to figure out how to make it work between worlds."
Working on that took up most of my free time, actually. But it was worth being able to talk with Terrence at any time, as long as he was close enough to my parents' tower.
Speaking of phones, my rings. I check it and find it's from the director of the agency that was formed when the government first learned about actual magic a few years ago.
"That's his normal personality?" Wyatt asks.
He's referring to Earth. Their discovery that Earth's magic is waking up and they have less than a decade to update tech came from Earth himself. He showed up at the main headquarters for the magic-dealing agency of every major government, told them, stole all of the candy within the building, and then disappeared.
"Yup!" I laugh. "I told you, think of him like a really, really powerful and nigh-immortal twelve-year-old! And I'm assuming you didn't call me to ask that?"
"No," he says. "When are you taking the dragon back to Yggril? He's currently playing 'catch the geyser' in Yellowstone."
"I didn't think he'd find Yellowstone or a place like that while here," I say. "And he'll come back when he's ready to go to bed, but we're not returning tonight. Let me know if he actually tries damaging something, and I'll take care of him. Just don't play 'catch the nuke' with him, he'll try to return to sender."
Wyatt groans as he hangs up. I chuckle and nuzzle back up against Terrence.
"I love you," I tell him.
"I love you, too," he tells me. "And I'm also feeling pretty tired. The boys are excited and probably won't exhaust themselves for awhile. Want to see if your dad will watch them so we can go to bed?"
So that we can go to bed? I know what he's really wanting, here.
"Down, boy," I mutter, and Silvia laughs behind us.
"Go on," Dad chuckles. "We'll watch the kids."
"And we'll play a video game first," I tell Terrence. "So you can see why they're fun."
"Oooh, that does sound fun!" His tail wags happily.
As I lead Terrence to my room, I think about everything. Today was a fun day, and I know it's going to have major influence on how things go from now on. It was also kind of necessary, since Earth's magic is waking up.
Getting to introduce my friends from Earth to Yggril was nice, and getting to introduce my family and some of my friends from Yggril to Earth was nice as well. Overall, things went pretty well.
As for the relationship which developed between Terrence and me? Well, I'm more than satisfied. The only downside is that we can't go on too many adventurers anymore. Yggril just doesn't have enough places that challenge us, with how powerful we are.
I guess in the future, we'll be looking for worlds that really try our skills. Maybe even find places to take the kids on vacation.
For now, though? I'm going to kick Terrence's ass in a game.
