《The Compassionate Killer and his travels in a new world》Chapter 11: Assassins Guild

I was planning on heading out to Hideo immediately but then I saw something intriguing.
As I was walking to the gates I saw three men covered in cloaks. Of course I didn't mind them but seeing that nobody dared to get near them I curiously walked pass them. When people saw that they all showed expressions that were saying, "He's dead". But some people started talking and then I saw some faces who were part of the crowd when I took down that Julius guy.
"He's that powerful?"
"Yeah, he wouldn't be killed that easily"
Hearing their conversations I could conclude that these three people are bad news. Though due to curiousity I wasn't able to stop myself from continuing on my way. I walked pass them and... nothing happened.
Though nothing happened I was able to feel something nostalgic.
Yeah if I were to describe it, it was the feeling of excitement. That which you would feel whe seeing a coleague or something like that.
And saying that much it would be very easy to understand what these people are.
The feeling of seriousness in their every step, the mysterious atmosphere around them and the most important aspect... the strong yet subtle bloodlust released when meeting a fellow... assasin.
Yes those three men are undoubtebly assasins. Though I'm not exactly sure why they would be here. Of course I understand that they would be aiming for the head of important people in the Academy but if they really are then why stay in this town in the outskirts when they could easily get into the academy.
Why do I think so?
Well unlike me assasins in this world would surely have connections and there would surely be organizations that have deep roots. After all no matter how you try to turn a blind eye the truth is that assasins have been in the world since society has started. And seeing them here is no weird thing actually what's weird is the fact that they emphasize the fact that they are suspicious. Though that is something like a matter of psychology in this kind of society where the average level of knowledge and IQ is not that high doing things like reverse psychology and the like is plain stupid.
But in this society, strength is everything thus doing this is not a bad idea but also not the best.
Anyway I tailed them keeping a few meters distance and hiding my presence.
Why?
Of course because I want to find the assasin's guild!
In a world where there is an Adventurer's guild it's common knowledge that there is an assasin guild and a merchant guild and so on. Well I'm not entirely sure but if that isn't their destination there would always be the chances of heading to the underground market or black market. Seriously I did my best but I wasn't able to find a single trace of the black market so if I want to find the shady places then I need to follow the people who go there and those are these three idiots.
I tailed them all the way to the inn district. They checked into one of the inns and I checked in as well into a place not that far or near and also not that conspicous but there is a clear view of the place where the three guys went.

I stayed in the room and kept my sense on high alert and with that I was able to put in some training into my magic sensing. Though I could use [Overdrive] being dependent on it is not a good idea. Atleast I should train myself after all the system won't always be useful.
Six hours...
This is how long I was waiting until they finally left the inn.
The time I saw them would be around five in the afternoon and yet they stayd in the inn for six hours straight. Geez... these guys must be the most idiot assasins in the world! Waiting for six hours is good to ensure no one notices but going out through the front door is the biggest mistake an assasin can make. Not only that it's almost midnight and they went out through the front door, who wouldn't notice that! More than that they even look so accomplished with what they did.
Ohh... I forgot.
They removed their hoods and I could clearly see their faces.
The tallest among them is a man with green hair and slim figure. If I were to describe him it would be, pretty boy. Yeah he definetely is a pretty boy. On his waist is not a long sword but a pari of short swords and also three throwing knives are on his left leg.
Next to him is a person a head shorter but by the looks of it he is the leader of this party. He has blazing red hair and a proud face that looks better on an adventurer than an assasin. On his back is a... it's a great sword. I want to walk up to this person and have a small chat about assasination but I won't delve too deep unless I find out about him.
The last guys is a person with black hair... ohh finally another person with black hair but he didn't remove his cloak also he has a half mask on his face so I couldn't see him clearly. Also there's something off about him but... oh well in the end he's not a threat to me so I'll just leave it be.
"Gerald, let's head over to the guild now"
"I know there should be another request up by now"
The green haired man told the red haired man. It seems that the red haired guy is named Gerald, well since that's all I could get I won't delve any deeper instead focus on tailing them.
They started walking and as soon as they did I hid in the shadows and tailed them making sure that they don't escape from me. But as I did I saw the guy with black hair look around and even behind. He stared at my direction for a while but then gave up. After all he wouldn't see me with only that level of skill. Heck I was not noticed when I snuck into the pentagon to get information on my target and no one noticed when I killed an official in Area 51 so how could that person see me in the night of all times.
The three began to head to a certain part of the city. Then where they were headed.

"Adventurer's Guild?"
I was perplexed, the assasin's and adventurers should be from different worlds but then...
Leaving my questions aside I followed them and to enter the guild they had to go through inspection it was simply showing your card. I enhanced my vision and saw that it isn't the normal Adventurer's card but a different card. The adventurers card is silver and has a metalic luster but this card is jet black.
Well I waited for them to get in and get out when they finally exited the guild I could see excitement in the eyes of the two guys the green and red haired man but the black haired guy is still silent.
When the trio finally disappeared I wore a coat I bought a while ago and a mask made out of the left over daggers then I headed for the guild, when I was about to enter.
"Stop"
Two blades were crossed in front of my neck and even a slight movement would surely cut skin.
The people who held the blades wore black veils over their faces and they wore skin tight clothing. Behind the veils are two pairs of beautiful purple eyes, of course I knew they were women from the time I hear their voices but for them to have such exquisite movements and resolute eyes that doesn't fear death, I am honestly shocked and filled with admiration.
"I just came here to register as an assasin"
I told them, they didn't lower their weapons and instead continued.
"Why do you wish to become an assasin"
"Because killing people is fun"
After I said my answer I could clearl see disgust in the eyes of the two women and then they lowered their weapons but still kept their eyes on me.
"Enter"
I entered the place and strided towards the counter.
Unlike this morning the receptionist is the guy called Damian and next to him are the five daggers that I sold him this morning.
"Hello your new here, so what may be the reason for your visit"
He asked me as he gave a polite smile.
"I want to register as an assasin"
After I said those words he immediately replied
"Well then please sign this document"
"Is that all?"
"Yes"
I was surprised to find out that becoming an assasin doesn't require a payment like becoming an adventurer but then again thinking about the risk it's pretty inderstandable why.
Unlike what most people think from being an adventurer and an assasin being an adventurer is a lot better than becoming an assasin. Because unlike adventurers assasins would need to keep low profile at all times, this is because of the line of work. Killing woud include harboring grudges and becoming a crimminal as well as being a target of the hatred of many. But these things are simply and I don't care much, in all actuality I was not the number one assasin in my previous world for no reason.
The paper given was similar and I wrote all the needed information but I did change my name. Instead of Alastair I wrote Zero well aliases are allowed right?
When I gave the paper Damian did the same thing that the receptionist did this moring and after that I was given my card.
With guild card in hand I headed to the board then I saw something good.
[Assasination Notice]
Touren Grace
Adventurer: Male
Reward: 10 gold coins
Immediately I saw my name and there was an assasination notice for it, but just as I was about to get the poster I saw something on the bottom. There on the bottom of the poster is one word.
[TAKEN]
So someone already wanted to take my head huh, moreover some idiots already took the job. And I have a pretty solid guess as to who they are.
I scanned the posters and there wasn't one aiming for Lily but there is one aiming for Julius and also this job it's...
[Assasination Notice]
Julius Lancaster
Reward: 100 gold coins
There it was the name I'm not familirat with but the 100 gold reward really is appealing so I took the poster and brought it to Damian.
"I will take this"
He looked at the poster and then he raised hes eyes and asked
"Are you sure"
"Yes"
I answered immediately and with no hesitation.
"Do you know who your target is?"
"I don't but I bet know he's some powerful noble after all nobody would put up a 100 gold reward on his head for no reason right"
Hearing my answer Damian stared deeply into my eyes and then he heaved a sigh.
"Do you know what kind of request your taking?"
"What"
I asked him because his face says it something serious.
"This request is a vengence pool request"
A vengence pool so it's something like "that" right.
"SO it's somthing like a request made by many people right"
"Yes"
"All the more to take it"
I said without any hesitation.
"Do you understand what your saying?"
He told me as he looked into my eyes seriously again. But in response I made a smiling expression in my eyes and answered.
"Yes, I will break into his mantion guarded by many knights and kill him silently and escape without getting noticed. Well unless there are countless traps and more than a thousand knights the completion is very easy"
When he heard my answer he shaked his head side to side as he said
"There's no helping it"
Then he stamped the paper with taken and then a person came and reposted the poster on the board.
"You have 72 hourse to complete this job"
I was about to get out when I remembered
"Oh could I get a picture of this Julius person"
Damina checked under the drawer and pulled out a sheet of paper. He passed it to me and then I took it and headed out. I opened checked the paper and the face of my target was revealed to me.
"Hoho so your name was Julius huh... I'm sorry Lily but this is a job I took"
I then walked towards my destination... Lancaster Manor.
"I hope you're ready for divine retribution Julius..."

8 124Moonblood
Five moons rise over Evanir, each in her own cycle, and each moon is also a god, one of five sisters. Many gods create spirit attendants and companions, brought forth fully-formed. Long ago, the moons worked together to create a lineage that are, instead, humans transformed by the mingling of blood. They intended them to be long-lived and to draw their strength directly from the light of the moon who chose each individual. The five sisters had different goals in mind – one wanted it to be a blessing for scholars and artists, to give them more time and fewer physical distractions; another wanted them to have an animal form, different for each, to keep them more in tune with nature so they could serve as guardians of the wilderness. There are drawbacks to their children having human lives and personalities before being chosen: not all share the goals of their divine mothers, and some choose to put their gifts to darker uses. Those carrying the blood of one woman, fleeing the corruption in search of a quiet life, take a different path. -=-=-=-=- Moonblood isn't so much a novel as a series of adventures of varying length. They involve a core group of people, which does grow over time. They take place in a fairly low-magic world, but despite that, our core cast are directly connected to the moons and have various abilities, including limited shapeshifting to a single individual animal form. As with all my work, unless gender, orientation, or other aspects of sexuality are explicitly stated, I suggest not making assumptions. Probably most significant, I think, is a major trans character who appears about 80K words in - no spoilers, just a note for those who care about that one way or the other.
