I entered the guild and when I did everyone was still staring at me with those shocked eyes filled with fear and admiration. I walked towards the counter and once again saw the receptionist lady but unlike before she was shaking a bit but immediately regained her composure. Well although she was shaking I she still looked at me with a smile on her face, it seems she really is trained to do her job properly.

Then again all I did was make cracks appear on the ground and yet this kind or reaction is what I recieved.

Are the people in this world perhaps weak?

Tha-that was amazing!

Although I saw him massacre a band of bandits singlehandedlly seeing him fight like this is just so... cool!

I mean he could easily beat down Julius but then he made it so that he won't be shamed too much but doing that... isn't he just making him recieve even more mockery. Well I don't know what Touren is planning but if anything it is not something that is bad. After all although Touren may look like a bad person now but when we were traveling he was not in any way disrespectful.

On the contrary he was kind and caring also he would talk with me and follow through with my selfishness while still giving a smile. Also when he looked at me a while ago he smiled and his expression just changed when he looked at Julius.

Ohh, he just beat Julius and now he's...

From the sword he swung down and the foot he stomped on the ground a web of cracks formed. Also looking at his expression his smiling but I could feel a dark aura around him.

Touren... he is actually scary.

But thinking about it he is doing this for me so...

Just then the people started moving and I can see Touren moving through the crowd that split in two to give him a path to walk. Looking at everyone elses expressions they all seem to have been amazed by Tourens show of power. But more importantly that dark aura around him although it looks cold and unwelcoming I feel like it's actually warm and... what am I thinking!

"I want to turn over my proof of subjugation"

I told the receptionist lady as I handed her the bag. She opened the bag and carefully checked it's contents. When she confirmed that the contents were genuine and that there were enough she then got some gold a bag and filled it with the coins. She then passed me the bag and I confirmed it's contens which are 21 silver.

"I had the impression you were powerful before but I didn't think you would also be very sly, also I will hide the fact that you used a different name to register to the guild"

She said so with a smile but that smile made me shiver. Then I asked.

"Is it wrong to register a different name when applying as an adventurer?"

"Well it's not wrong and it isn't a problem, well..."

She stopped and once again she sized me up and down.

"What?"

"Well, the adventurer guild used the card system to keep track of the powerful adventurers so they don't ruin the guild reputation or if they commited a crime"

Hearing her explanation I understood something...

"So the guild card is a way to prevent uprising and other problems that adventurers, those with power would do am I right?"

She then smiled and looked and then replied

"Well that's not all there is to it. It is for certain that the guild used this to prevent problems regarding powerful adventurers all over the world but the real reason for this is to keep track of the countries powers"

"Countries powers?"

"Yes, the adventurers guild is open to all races and there is no discrimminitaion. But the thing is that the countries would use the strength of adventurers to decide many kinds of disputes"

"Like?"

"Well take territory for example, when a war s about to happen the country would gather all the power it has. And added to that are the adventurers of the country. The guild would send the kings the number of A, S, SS and SSS class adventurers that each country has. With these the kings would either deicide to wage war or negotiate a peace treaty"

"If you put it like that then the most powerful power would be the adventurers guild"

I told her my thoughts, well the guild does hold the power of the countries and with that they could most probably be the most powerful force. Though when the receptionist heard my answer she just smiled wryly. I began to think and it hit me.

"Oh so the adventurer guild os not a power but some sort of middle man is that right?"

I understood it now, the powers all have information on the adventurers through the data collection of the guild cards. And with the data the kings would think twice about attacking and waging war. Of course with that it would mean that the fate of the kingdom falls into the hands of the adventurers but that's not the problem.

The guild was established to defend against monsters all over the world and the powerhouses are people who got strong through fighting with these monsters. Thinking about it, there not a hundred percent chance that the listed adventurers would actually join the war for their country.

But the thing is that with that data they gathered the kings would not dare to gamble on the chances and would instead move to ensure that their kingdom doesn't fall.

Hmm... the founder of this adventurer guild is actually one smart man or woman. Well with all that the countries also wouldn't dare to attack the guild as it's their only lifeline against the monsters. Also the main headquarters of the guild is not known by any country. Although it is said that it's in all imperial capitals that seem's to be only a branch to send messages to the kings.

I thought it was weird that they didn't make it so that the guild card would record the kills and send them to all the branches or at least the nearest branch. So that was the case also the thing about the magic system although I used overdrive I wasn't able to sense it one bit. This only proves how great the founder of the guild is, to make something that even with a 100% performance output and 100% focus on my senses I still couldn't feel the system from the guild card that person is nothing but a genius among geniuses!

If I had the chance I would like to seat and have a cup of tea with this founder.

"Uhm, Touren or should I call you Alastair"

"Just call me Touren calling me Alastair would cause problems in the future so..."

"I understand"

After our short chat I turned around with the bag and headed for a seat but then someone tugged on my clothes.

I looked behind me and I saw Lily blushing as she held the hem of my coat.

"Uhm... Touren I would like to thank you!"

"What do you mean"

I knew what she meant but seeing her like this I just have the urge to tease her...

"Well you see... I was the reason that Julius attacked you so... uhmm~"

She looked up at me with upturned eyes and they wer just so... Cuuuteee~

No no no what am I saying! I'm an assasin someone who will kill for money a coldhearted murderer but...

She's just too cute!

I can't take it I... I although I am an assasin theres no saying that I should be a heartless killer. That's right even assasins have feelings to, the sole reason I became an assasin is because that's what I'm good at also I take joy in killing assholes but that doesn't mean that I'm heartless. Wait but doesn't that make me sound like a psychpath?

Anyway I also have a heart and feelings so I should... I should keep this in. It would be weird if I showed it out anyway this girl... she doesn't match me that much also I can't feel a connection.

Haaaaa~ just when I thought I finally reached the spring time of my youth.

"I did that because I got pissed off what the guy was saying about me and also the way he looks down on people just because he's a noble. So don't think that I did it for you, even if you didn't tell him about me if I came across him in town I would have done the same thing. Touren started talking strange, he was saying something...

Oh so he means that he just did it on a whim huh? I know that he has no reason to help me but why do I feel sad somehow. Then he suddenly said something

I stared at him and he started back at me. His eyes are dead serious and his expression did not change a bit.

Why is my chest suddenly heavy?

I looked up to him and he's still looking at me with eyes that showed zero interest. So he really meant what he said huh...

whay are they suddenly flowin out?

I looked at Touren again and seeing him looking at me with eyes that has zero interest in my I just felt more sadness. The feeling made my body limp and I dropped to my knees. My tears are falling on the floor and I... started crying.

She dropped to the ground... and now she's crying.

Why did she cry I mean I simply rejected her, and that is not something to cry about. I mean she's a noble and she's also pretty so she should have a lot more other choices. Though I feel like missed a great oppotunity... well I still have a job to do and also I'm very curious of the world so I think I shoudl go. But...

I looked at the girl crying on the floor, seriously...

I two knives that I still have and put them in front of the Lily.

"I said that I have no interest on weak women, if you continue to cry there I will lose all interest in you"

I stood up turned around and made my way out of the guild. I think I should go to another town or maybe a city, the capital is also good. I remember the map in the guild if I remember correctly the closest place here is a town to the north east named [Hideo]. Well then I should probably start my journey.

As I was crying two knives were thrown in front of me.

"I said that I have no interest on weak women, if you continue to cry there I will lose all interest in you"

He said those so that means that he still has an interest in me right? Then all I need to do I become stronger.

But...

No I may have not done any training but they always say it's better late than never.

Touren turned around and headed out.

I get it I have already fallen for this man. The person who saved me two times without asking for much in return. The man who shows a terryfying aura which hides his kindness. This is the man I Lily Aldus have fallen for.

"Don't worry Touren, I will become stronger and become a woman who you'll surely fall head over heals for!"

I whispered as I stared at the persons departing back. Although he was leaving but I can feel that we will meet again... someday.
