《The Cardboard Explorer》Chapter 14

Planet Snowball, 5 minutes before the end of the time limit for the dungeon.
A lot of spaceships were seen from space flying out of planet snowball. Not one or two spaceships but hundreds of them.
The scene of spaceships leaving Planet Snowball had been going on from the day the snowball government decided to wait until the dungeon’s time limit ended.
The truth was that the snowball government did not want to wait but those high-level explorers from Ice Star Sector pressured them to wait.
If the government allowed explorers to close the dungeon, those high-level explorers threatened to not do anything if something goes awry.
They also said that they will move to another star sector and not close any dungeon that appeared on Planet Snowball in the future.
The government cannot allow that to happen. No matter how low level a monster in a dungeon was, they were all strong and only explorers were able to kill them.
Losing high-level explorers from the planet was a huge loss to the planet and they had no choice but to follow their ‘suggestion’.
In the end, they were hated by their citizens and a lot of them started fleeing from the planet and moved to another planet.
At the moment, there were no more citizens in cities nearby the dungeon. Only explorers and government employees decided to stay.
They did pressure the government because they thought they will get some kind of huge profit and if they also left, that will leave a stain in their record if something bad happened after the time limit ended.
They were confident that they could handle it because the level limit for the dungeon was level 30 to level 40.
They were too far above that level that anything came out of that dungeon can easily be handled by them. So, they were not scared of anything. To them, the citizens were too paranoid.
5 more minutes before the end of the time limit and many explorers had started gathering around the portal to the dungeon.
Since no monsters were coming out of the dungeon for the past three days since the dungeon appeared, that meant that all of them would come out after the time limit ends.
All they needed to do was wait there and kill any monsters that came out of the portal. Easy.

Time kept passing and, in a minute, the time limit will end. None of the explorers were nervous but for the government employees, they were totally scared of what would happen.
The government employees were after all normal humans. They stood no chance even against a level 1 monster because only awakeners can damage them.
‘Tik… tok… tik… tok…’ time kept moving and from the system notification, only three seconds left.
3, 2, 1. The time limit ends. The system suddenly blared in alarm with big warning signs while the system screen flickering and a new notification came from the system.
[Immediately evacuate the planet if you are not awakened!!!] said the system. Everyone that was still on the planet was shocked by the warning from the system, especially the normal humans.
The explorers that were waiting for monsters to come out of the portal got the same notification too but they ignored it and kept focusing themselves on the portal.
However, they kept waiting but nothing happened. Nothing came out of the dungeon other than the portal started changing color to black-gold.
---
Many citizens of Planet Snowball were currently on the spaceship outside the Planet Snowball area and they were all watching the live stream of the portal.
Watching the portal changing color, they felt fear. From all the knowledge everyone had about portals, there was never once a portal with black-gold color.
Portals to the dungeon came with different colors. The color of the portal represented the grade of the dungeon.
E grade dungeon had a white portal, D grade dungeon had yellow portal, C grade dungeon had orange portal, B grade dungeon had green portal, A grade dungeon had blue portal and S grade dungeon had purple portal.
The color of the portal did not help much in determining the dungeon’s grade because the system will usually examine the dungeon automatically and tell their users the grade of the dungeon.
Suddenly, the live feed of the portal was cut off without any warning. Everyone that was watching found it weird when suddenly someone gasped while looking outside the spaceship towards Planet Snowball.
Everyone moved from their seats and went to the spaceship window to look at what that guy was seeing. Upon seeing Planet Snowball, they were all either stunned or shocked.
Their eyes were wide open due to shock. Their mouth was shivering and trembling from what they saw.
Planet snowball was covered with thick black-gold mist. No one can see the planet and all they can see was the black-gold mist.
The media went frenzy when they lost their footage of the portal and when they switched to the view of the planet, their frenzies stopped momentarily from shock before they started the live feedback with the view of the planet from space.
At the moment, every channel that live stream of what was happening to Planet Snowball was getting more and more viewers all around the universe.
Most people did not know how they should react but the citizens of Planet Snowball that escaped the planet were filled with fear.
The explorers from all the different star sectors that were watching the live stream frowned and some with a serious face. They all got warning notifications from the system.
They did not know what had happened on Planet Snowball at the moment but they had a feeling that something really bad had happened.
Some of those explorers’ secretary or employees tried to contact the government of Planet Snowball but the line was not connected. It looked like the black-gold mist had cut off every communication with Planet Snowball.
---
The explorers and everyone else on Planet Snowball at the moment had a bad feeling. At the top of their head in the sky were thick black-gold mist and there was no movement coming out of the portal.
To normal humans that were on the planet, they were filled with fear and panic. To the explorers, they were restless.
The explorers expected that monsters would swarm out of the portal but nothing came out of it but instead, the black-gold mist happened.
They already found out that their communications were blocked or cut. Even contacting other people on the planet did not work.
Suddenly, they heard screaming coming out of the government building. Some of the explorers ran to them immediately and they saw all of them were running out of the building.
Before they could even ask anything, they saw something absurd was happening. One of the humans that ran out of the building suddenly stopped running and his body suddenly bulged as it will explode.
However, instead of exploding, that guy grew fur and then he started screaming. He was changing into something.
The explorers felt like it might turn bad if that guy finished the transformation and they all rushed forward to kill him but then, something fast jumped at them.
The thing that was jumping at them was like a human but it was furry. Looking at the face of that thing, they gritted their teeth because it was a monster of a human-shaped but with the face and body of a gorilla.
That gorilla looked a lot like a beastman from a fantasy comic. The gorilla was coming at them with its huge fist and slammed on the body of an explorer.
The explorer blocked it but he was sent flying. The other explorers went and attacked the gorilla but they were shocked when their attack did not hurt the gorilla at all.
The gorilla stared at them and it smiled. A chill went through the explorers’ body and their face changed to fear when the gorilla suddenly, “How do you expect to hurt me when you are not in the limit?” The gorilla talked!!
The gorilla smashed the explorers nearby and killed them immediately. At the same time, the guy that was transforming finished the transformation and he had the same appearance as the gorilla that was killing the explorers.
“The humans, change into the monsters?” said one of the explorers shocked.
“Who are you calling monsters?” the first gorilla suddenly appeared in front of that explorer and killed him. After that, more and more humans started transforming into the gorilla.
The phenomenon was happening to all the humans all around Planet Snowball and it only happened to normal humans. None of the explorers went through the transformation.
The fight between the explorers and the gorilla monsters started but the situations were dire because the explorers were losing. No matter how strong the explorers were, none of them can hurt the gorilla.
The system appraised the gorilla as in the range of level 30 to level 40 and only explorers between level 30 to level 40 were able to cause damage to the gorillas.
Now, they were all finally aware of the warning from the system.

This Book
The author, Edward Faust is aware that “This Book” does not really describe what this book is about. We shall pretend that it is a meta artistic choice but the reality is that Mr. Faust is bad at coming up with titles, and since starting This Book back in 2015 as a NaNoWriMo project he could never come up with a good one. This Book’s genre is YA Supernatural, but that’s only as helpful as any genre tag (IE: not very) so I shall describe it further. This Book is primarily about reincarnation, but it also features mythical creatures such as angels (known here as Seraphs), demons, Byzantines, as well as homeschoolers. Two mythical homeschoolers in fact make up the main characters of this work, a pair of siblings named Grayson and Kish. They live in metro Atlanta in the year 2019 AD with their Aunt. On one particular day they are plunged into a rabbit hole of spiritual and metaphysical politics by the arrival of a mysterious one-eyed Green haired woman and strange humanoid creatures into their lives. That is where the story begins. Yes. This book can also be found at https://thisbook.home.blog/
