《Deck of Cards》The jobs

The class entered the room after the man in white robes and once everyone was in, the door was closed behind them by a pair of knights.
Echo looked around the room and saw that it was pretty spacious. The ceiling was at least ten meters high and a giant chandelier decorated by crystals was hanging from the ceiling. On the left side of the room, there was five huge colorful windows two meters above the ground, letting in light to the room. The windows seemed to be like a picture. Like the ones back ones back on Earth in churches. The right side was just a stone wall decorated with shields and two swords crossed behind it. There were also five columns on both side of the room, with a red carpet between them. Next to each column, there was a knight, wearing the same white armor like the others, on either side of the column. The also held spears in their hands unlike the ones before.
He now focused his gaze to what was in front of him. A stepped platform with a golden throne on top of it, with a person sitting on it. He had blue long hair pushed behind and a short blue beard. His eyes were also blue and looked very imitating. He had a handsome face and from the face, one could say he looked to be in thirties. He was wearing a golden crown on his head, decorated with jewels. His clothing was expensive looking and also blue. He was resting his head on his left hand, while staring at the group. 'Probably the king'
On his right side, there was a beautiful woman with blue eyes and cream blond hair. Her skins seems smooth and she is wearing a white dress, that shows cleavage. 'She must be the wife.'
He looks to his left and sees a basically the younger version of the wife. Same hair, eyes and even the dress.'Daughter maybe.'
'The king itself doesn't seem to be exactly protected. An arrow could be shot and no one could take the shot for the king...Hmm. he's either confident in his strength or there are few guards in the shadows.'he thinks to himself.
He looks up at the chandelier and then the windows. He then proceeds to think'If I were to be able to destroy the chain holding the chandelier it would create a distraction long enough to break one of the windows and climb out of it. But even my card could hit the difficult shot, the chain obviously wouldn't break. Also I should pay attention to what the king is saying.'

"-were summoned here by the head priest of the Church of Light, Lugsav. The reason for your summoning is that we needed help to defeat the seven demon lords, who are threatening to take over the world. According the prophecy, a group of heroes could be summoned to this world and they would have powerful abilities to help us. That is why you are here. You, If you were to accept my request, will be provided a living quarter in the castle and training by the best, so you would be ready to fight. So heroes, what will you choose."
"Will we be able to get home?"asks Chris from the king.
'Oh no. Don't say that!'
"Yes. Once you have slain the demon lords, we will send those home, who wish."he answers, while Echo is watching him with a sharp gaze.
'That was a half-truth. There is more to it, but what.'Echo wonders, while the other students are discussing with each other.
"So what do you guys think?"
"We really don't have a choice do we."
"I agree. They probably throw us out, If we refuse. No need for useless."
"But we have to fight. I have never fought before."
"Well it's fight with a backing of a kingdom and go home or refuse and be thrown out. I doubt that they will bother to send back."
"Well I guess the choice is done."
""""Yep.""""
Chris steps forward and says."We accept your request."
*Facepalm*
'Oh look at me. I'm Chris. I'm so fucking noble. Now let me get a harem and be worshipped...I can't wait for you to experience the horrors of war...twat.'
"I'm glad to hear that. Your training will start in two days. So-"
"I have a question."says Echo behind the crowd and starts walking past them
"What would that be?"asks the king.
"It's a simple one."he asks"Why the fuck should I give a shit?"
Immediately the guards tighten the grip on their spears.
'Ready to attack me...Good to know.'
"Well because a lot of people would die if you wouldn't help us."answers the priest.
"Okay. Most people simple-minded people would accept that, but I'm not a simple-minded."he has walked past the group and Chris says"What do you think you are doing?"
He just ignores and keeps walking onward. He sees the guards tightening the grip and he finally figured out were the other guards are. For and instant, he saw a tint reflection from the darker places in the ceiling. They probably have some kind of wire up there, with a couple of guards up there. 'Nice hiding spot.'

"Okay. So I'll ask another question."he asks"What's in it for me?"
The kings doesn't answer again and once again the priest answers"Glory of course. You would go down in legends and will be forever be remembered by the people."
"Didn't you hear me saying that I am not fucking simple minded. Why the fuck should I care about becoming a legend in this world, if I'm not from here."
Nothing. The two don't know what to answer and so they are silent, until the princess says"You can also stay in this world and receive enough money so you never have to work again."
'So I can basically choose to be a mercenary. Great. Why the fuck not. I have nothing left back at home, so why the fuck not. Let me just become a mercenary. I need the money, so I could start a life here.'
"Money huh. That'll work for now."Echo says, before walking back to where he was before.
'That was a close one. We almost could have lost the most interesting person from the group'thinks the princess to herself. She is one of the lucky, who have a rare ability to see other peoples status, without the magic tool.
"Continuing where I left off. We now will find out what your abilities are with the magic tool, so we could assign you to a proper teacher."
The priest snaps his fingers, when the king finishes and immediately two people bring a white crystal ball. The priest takes it into his hand and says"All of you will touch this orb and it will unlock and show you your status. So would you please start coming one-by-one."
Obviously the first to go, is Chris who walks up to the orb and touches it. Soon the priest says"He has the legendary hero job. Amazing."
'What a fucking surprise. Who could have seen that coming.'Echo thinks sarcastically.
"Sword mastery is already at level seven. This truly amazing."the priest continues praising the twat.
'Lucky you. Never probably hasn't even touch a sword. It could be easily seen from your fucking smooth hands.'
After the dozen or so praises, the next one can finally go and the next. Soon there are only tso left. Echo and Jack, who has finally calmed down.
Jack walks to the orb and touches the orb and his job is.....muscle head. Just kidding...It's berserker.
'Yep. That fucking suits him too well. And now I am up. Will I be the weak mc, who after betrayal become ridiculously op.'
He walks up the orb and before he can touch it, the priest says"You have to remove your gloves. It only works with direct skin contact."
"Okay."Echo replies and takes of the glove from his left hand, revealing a hand, covered in multiple scars from cuts and one from a bullet.
The priest is little surprised when he sees his hand, but he hides it and says"Now you can touch it."
He puts his hand on the orb and his job is revealed with his status.

He takes off his hand, before the priest could say anything and puts his glove back one.
"Keep it shut for now."he says low enough voice, so only the priest could hear, before walking to his group.
'Well at least I'm not gonna be the weak mc. But that fucking status just had to remind me the past. So fucking great'
"That is all for today. Each of you have been assigned a personal maid. So If you have any minor questions ask them."says the priest.

Currently Echo was following the maid, who was leading him into his room. The maid was about 1,6m tall, with a small bust and a cute face. She had green hair and bright green eyes. Her skin was kinda pale looking, but smooth. The maid outfit was a mix between a french and english maid. Her name is Karena. No last name, because according to her, only high class people had last names.
But one thing has slightly bothered Echo for a while: her ears. They are pointy.
"Are you an elf or something else."he just decides to ask.
"I am a half-elf, Master. Race between-."she is cut off by Echo"Between an elf and a human."
"Yes Master."she replies with her serious voice.
Soon the two stop in front of a wood door and she opens the door, while saying"This is your room. I hope you will like this room."
Echo enters the room and looks around the room.
"If you wish anything, then tell me."she says.
"Do you have to fulfill any request I make?"he asks her and she replies"As long as it's in my power, I will do it."
"Okay. So answer me"he asks"Are you a virgin?"

Cosmic Plague
In this world, everyone is cursed with a single fate: Become the most powerful. But those who do become powerful, they hate it. Power is misery and death is the solace. လလလ Nazar, a weapon of mass destruction created by the ancient God of Destruction revolted against his creator a long time ago. While he did defeat his creator, the power he was given is still within him. He is cursed with infinite power, standing at the top of the celestial hierarchy. He has more power and wealth than he needs. But even then, he craves one thing; death. He wants to die. Power is misery and death is the solace, but he cannot achieve his only goal. He cannot die. Perhaps that will change when one day, an ancient cosmic Goddess rises from her grave? Perhaps she will finally kill him? Or will she fall short before his awesome yet terrible power? Only time will tell. This is a high cosmic story about the hypocritical life of the protagonist and how it affects everyone (and everything) around him. Naturally, it features very overpowered characters with a lot of high stakes battles roaming across the cosmos. Warning: Swearing, some suggestive sexual gestures/words, gore. Feedback is highly welcomed. (The story was originally named, God's Return, but I wanted to change it.)
