Vert stands there unmoving as he stares deeply at the black streak engraved into the ground that utterly reeks of death magic. A unfamiliar feeling begins to well up inside of his chest.
'Killing people has never affected me before... Yet why does it hurt this time...'
Vert's right hand grips at his black shirt that has been on his person since he has awaken inside of this boring hole in the ground. His left hand tenses to the point that his godly joints begin cracking and his metal gauntlets groan in pain as they are about to shatter.
'I haven't known this lizard lady long at all, yet why do I feel so attached. It feels like a piece of my soul is being ripped from my body!'
Vert looks up to the ceiling as the pain refuse to disappear. He tries to tell himself that he shouldn't feel like this. Something inside of him starts to bend to the point where it is about to snap until finally the pain stops. Whatever was inside Vert becomes less stressed and returns to a point where Vert can't even feel it anymore.
He has never felt this thing before but it slightly terrifies him as to what will happen if it snaps so he tries to calm himself down. Vert's shaky breathing finally begins to calm down and his eyes turn a dull shade of brown as Vert feels the overwhelming tide that is depression.
His only friend in thousands of years was murdered by his own hands, and he even got rewarded for it. A flash of red flashes in the eyes of Vert and he grits his teeth. Vert manages to unclasp his jaw and make a vow to the heavens where he assumes this 'Council of Gods' resides.
"I swear that I will end this sick system you have going on if it is the last thing I do! DO YOU HEAR ME?!" Vert yells at the top of his lungs and causes the whole cave system to violently shudder and the caves threaten to collapse.

*In a spacious room high in the heavens*
A man with many wings smirks as he stares into a pool where a picture is being projected into. The huge figure prepares himself for the booming voice coming straight for him.
"I swear that I will end this sick system you have going on if it is the last thing I do! DO YOU HEAR ME?!"
Seraph shakes his massive head to get the ringing out of his ears. He hasn't heard a sound so loud since Apollyon killed Victoria and Leon, Seraph's parents.
Seraph isn't scared by this promise though as a wide smile spreads across his face and his golden eyes shine a bright golden hue. A soothing yet deep voice shouts back at Vert, yet doesn't leave the spaces of the Heavens.
"Good.... GOOD! Help me fulfill Uncle's wishes! Win for me my champion! Make me the chairman and I will make you my successor!" the Angel God Seraph yells in excitement as he watches his uncle's favorite prodigy begin to grow up. Even if it was with some from some outside help from a certain God of War.
"Dolos doesn't even know what fire he is poking right now.... Hahaha, hopefully he won't complain after Vert gets a hold of his champion."
The Angel God Seraph's eyes shine as he is excited for the beginning of his champions journey towards the life of a god Vert was deprived of.
*Back in Vert's cave*
Vert finally finishes his ranting and is left to sulk in depression by himself.
"Atleast the pain is gone." Vert says aloud to no one in particular.
"What pain?" a young voice asks back to the God of Death.
Vert raises an eyebrow and slowly turns around. His eyes become huge as a 3' tall and blonde haired girl stands in front of him, covered head to toe in scales. A familiar pair of bright pink eyes stare at Vert and the young girl has a slight tilt in her head.

Vert's dull eyes with a tinge of red instantly flash back with light and the small red streak disappears quickly. Vert vanishes and reappears in front of the young Emeralda and startles the girl. He then picks her up and closely observes her from head to toe.
"Ehhhh?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING PUT ME DOWN!" Emeralda shrieks at the top of her lungs. Vert does just that and drops the girl on the spot. She falls to the floor with an thud and stares angrily at the tall god.
"What was that for you dumbass!" Emeralda roars at Vert. He just has a dumbfounded look on his face. He was in a shattered state just a few seconds ago but now he is just completely dumbstruck. The reason for this is he knows for a fact she died as he gained powers from it, and there is no one Vert has ever met that can see his death magic and see to live the tale so why is Emeralda alive now? Also...
"Why are you A KID?!" Vert yells at the top of his lungs. The lizard girl grits her teeth in anger as she is mad that Vert dropped her like she was hot and is now questioning her instead of being happy that she is alive. Emeralda manages to pick herself up and brushes the dirt off her scaly body and then walks over to the pile of clothes of the many adventures that meet Vert's wrath.
She puts on a black long dress that barely fits her child body and angrily lets out a 'Harrumph' and walks back over to Vert will calming down her pride.
"It is a rare trait of the dragon race you idiot, we can regenerate from a single cell as long as we have stored up enough natural energy. We must regrow from that cell back to our form, growing up all over again. Also DON'T DROP ME LIKE THAT!" Emeralda yells as she kicks the God in the shins. She immediately regrets this as Vert has Metal Grieves that are essentially boots made out of pure metal. Small spikes cover the tip of them, adding more ways for the Death God to take your life.
Vert rubs his chin and mulls over this new information as Emeralda rolls around on the ground holding her now injured foot. Not everything seems to add up yet Vert knows he doesn't know much about this world and anything is possible... probably.
Vert then shrugs his shoulders and doesn't complain since he has his only friend ever back and as lively as ever even if she got hit by a death beam. Vert then walks over to the girl in pain and goes down on one knee and looks at the girl straight in the eyes.
She is startled by this and begins to sweat as the God of Death is peering deep into her soul. He then pulls the girl into a strong bear hug. The girl feels constricted and almost begins to protest but Vert cuts her off.
"I'm sorry for hurting you... I will do everything I can to make it up to you... I'm just glad you're back now." Vert says with a hint of deep emotion. Emeralda smiles and pats the God on the back. With a soft voice she responds.
"Don't worry. I forgive you and I'd never leave you."
Vert lets the girl go from the embrace and smiles at her. With a new wave of motivation and a pep in his step, Vert looks back towards where he murdered Zanack and his fools. This is a way that can possibly lead to Vert's escape from this boring place and give the poor Death God his first taste of freedom.
