《I Am the "God of Death", Whatever That Means. (Original)》Yuria. Chapter 44

The person in the golden uniform began to sweat as he not expected that he would have to fight anyone, let alone someone with such a deadly aura. Vert, with only a towel around his waist, eyes the man in the uniform. To Vert, it seems that this 'man' is more like a kid in his late teens. The kid has a scared face as he seems to not want to fight Vert at all.
Gauntlets form on Vert's hand and he begins to walk towards the kid. The kid tries to slash at Vert but Vert catches the blade mid-swing. Vert rips the sword out of the kids hands and throws the sword into the bathroom. The kid falls backwards and lands on his bottom with a hard thud on the wooden floor. Vert pulls back his fist and the kid tries to put his hand up to protect his face.
Before the trembling kid can fully protect his face, Vert's fist is inches away from it. The kid saw Vert disappear and reappear instantly and is hardly able to comprehend what just happened. Vert has stopped his fist from shattering the kid's skull, causing the kid to pass out on the floor. Vert pulls back his fist as he had done what he wanted, scare the kid into submission... or until he passed out, which ever came first.
With no time to lose, Vert runs into the living room and up the stairs near the front door at a speed faster than most eyes can see. On the second floor, Vert doesn't know where the sound came from but there is a door close to him that is open so he heads towards it. Inside the room, there is a man smashed into the wall and Cynthia stands above him. She seems awfully pissed too.
"Hey Cynthia, who did you let into the house?" Vert says when seeing Cynthia is alright. She turns around and gives Vert a mean stare that causes him to put his hands up to show he has surrender.
"I didn't let anyone in! He must've snuck in on his own!" Cynthia says with a voice that is nearly a hiss.
"Well he wasn't alone. I found another one downstairs which I promptly took care of." Vert responds with.
The man who was knocked into the now splintered wall immediately begins to stir awake. His nose is broken and there are some teeth on the floor of the room. The bloodied man loos over to Vert with a face full of concern. Tears are welling up in the man's eyes.

"Did... Did you kill my son?" the man asks with a sad voice.
"I don't think so... He just kinda passed out in our kitchen." Vert says voice that seems disinterested in the situation.
"Thank you Goddess of Protection... You have saved my son again." the man says quietly under his breath.
'Great... Another follower of a God that will most likely try to come and kill me.' Vert thinks to himself while face palming. Wondering why the two are here, Vert decides to interrogate the man.
"Why are you here exactly?"
"Well, our Goddess told us to come here and look for the God of Death. We have a message for him. Do you know where we can find him?" The man asks in a pleading voice. Vert looks over to Cynthia who is only in a bra and a skirt. She is still covered in blood so she must not of gotten to take a bath yet. Not wanting to involve her in this yet, Vert decides to send her away.
"Leave and go put a shirt on. Check on the kid downstairs afterwards and make sure he didn't have a heat attack." Vert says and Cynthia listens. She leaves the room no questions asked as Vert has a very serious demeanor to him at the moment. With Cynthia leaving the room, vert shuts the door and walks up to the man who is still smashed into the wall, not moving. Vert crouches down so he is eye level with the man.
"I am the God of Death... What is your message?" Vert says while looking seriously into the man's eyes. The man seems suspcious as his Goddess told him they would be expected and welcomed with open arms but this doesn't seem very welcoming to Drakier, the messenger of Yuria, the Goddess of Protection.
"Prove it." Drakier says with a tinge of doubt in his voice. Vert laughs and closes his eyes for a second. When he opens them, his right eye has turned a deep crimson compared to being brown before and his left eye has turned into a blackhole. The Eye of the Reaper begins to suck the man's soul right out of his body and the man begins to whimper in resistance.
Seeing that the man will most likely believe him now, Vert closes his eyes once again and when he opens them the next time, they turn back into their normal, brown state. The man takes a few deep, shaky breaths but he is now a firm believer in what Vert actually is.

"Alright... Here, take this." Drakier says as he hands Vert a rolled up scroll. Vert takes the scroll into his hands and opens it. When he opens it, a picture forms on the surface of the scroll and a woman's face comes into view. Two stubby horns stick out of the top of her head and her purple eyes have slits as pupils. The woman seems very pleased and has a smile that goes from ear to ear.
"Hello, God of Death. It is nice to make your acquaintance." The woman says.
"Same... I guess?" Vert says with a hint of confusion in his voice.
"I am Yuria, the Goddess of Protection and I would like something from you." Yuria says with confidence that Vert will accept her offer.
"Yeah, what's that?" Vert asks.
"A truce, between you and I."
"A truce? What's in it for me?" Vert asks with suspicion in his voice.
"Well, ontop of us not getting into each other's ways, you will help me if I need it and I will help you when you need it."
"Ah, so that's what you want, my help with something? I will have to ask you what it is before I can agree."
"Well the thing is I don't need your help at the moment. It's just an agreement for the future. Plus we can do more than just help each other out! We could become close friends if you wish or you could even join my side. I could definitely use a man with your... certain set of skills." Yuria says with a hint of want in her voice.
"I wouldn't mind being friends but I don't like to be ordered around, so that's a no. On the idea of entering a truce with you, I'll have to say there is no reason for me to disagree." Vert says. he actually likes the idea of having another God he doesn't have to worry about trying to kill him 24/7.
"Well then I guess it is settled. May I ask your name?" Yuria says with a pleasure filled smile forming on her faced.
"Vert."
"No... Your actual name, I know you already have God Form 2 so you must know it." Yuria says. Vert takes a second to assess the situation and he figures there could be no harm in people finding out his real name, he has faith in his ability to kill anything that gets in his way now.
"Nico Smith." Vert says for the first time since he his old life.
"Nico Smith huh? What a beautiful name." Yuria says with an even more pleasured smile on her face. A bright yellow light wraps around Vert's body. He is worried at first but something inside of him tells him this is good. Vert feels stronger, he feels protected.
"Now with our agreement being cemented in stone and you under my divine protection I would like to give you one last gift. Everyone of my soldiers in your village as yours to use at your disposal. They are all mainly rogues type of warriors so they are fast but are damaged easily. I expect you will help me when I need it and with that, I must beg my leave. I have... other matters to attend to." Yuria says with he head slightly bowing forward.
"Goodbye Yuria." Vert says. Vert can hear a girlish giggle come through the scroll before it completely is engulfed in a grey flame. The flame isn't hot but it doesn't leave a trace of the scroll left.
Vert looks down at the man who was slammed into the wall. He is knocked out and seems to still be bleeding. Vert lets out an audible sigh.
"More mouths to feed... Great." Vert says with an aggrivated tone.
'Well whatever, could've been worse I guess. She could've tried to summon a dragon and destroy the village I'm living and then kill my only friend.' Vert thinks to himself with a sarcastic tone.

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.
