《I Am the "God of Death", Whatever That Means. (Original)》Hope. Chapter 35

Vert walks over to a metal table that is placed across from his bed and he can see some interesting stuff on it. He picks up some material that feels like sleek cloth and he takes a good look at it. It seems to be a bright white shirt and everything else on the table matches the same white colour as the shirt. Vert figures it wouldn't hurt to put the T-shirt on and as he does so, it feels like a perfect fit. The material is nothing Vert has really felt before but he can see there is a full outfit here and by the way the shirt fits him, it might be tailored to him. He slides on the underwear, pants, and socks but he sees extra clothing here. There is a pair of white gloves with the tips of the fingers missing and even a long coat that has fur on the inside of it. Vert puts it all on and he looks at himself for a second.
'Whoever made this definitely wants me to be.... bright and easy to find huh? All of it is also made of this weird silk and cloth-like material. I wonder what it is.'
He looks around the metal table some more for anything else and he sees something familiar to him finally. His plate armoured greaves are sitting there, sparkling clean. He steps into them and he takes a second to reflect on his current situation.
'I was knocked out, taken to a new place, undressed and someone made new clothes for me. I have put on these new clothes and they even washed my greaves for me. This seems a little too perfect. Plus I'm locked in here.'
He looks around a while, looking a way out of the room he is but it seems to be sealed tight. Vert is worried about the fact he has lost his music and Eyes of the Reaper but to him, this is no time to panic about what has already happened but it is time to find a way to reverse it... Or just kill himself.
He thinks about using his insane strength to bust down the door or even the wall but that would be rude if they are treating him as a guest or the fact he might not have his strength. He looks to the opposite side of the room and runs as fast as possible, arriving at his destination with a familiar blistering speed. His hands feel unprotected since they don't have metal protecting him so he is worried to test his strength at the moment. He does quick jabs and an uppercut, releasing some of his strength and a blast of wind is caused by the end of his combo, which had a little extra power put in it.

Satisfied with himself still being powerful with just his physical abilities, Vert walks back over to the door. He inspects it a few time and he starts to hear something on the other side. It is extremely muffled so Vert presses his ear against the door to find out if he can understand any of it.
"Go find him I said! I don't care how scared you are of him! He is our guest and I need this man on our side!"
'Go fine Tim I said? I won't tear cows where you far love him! Feet is our best and I need fist Dan on our side? What the....'
The door is surprisingly thick so what Vert heard is completely off what was said, but nonetheless, he keeps his ear on the door, listening for some other signs of life but none show themselves. Very slight shuffling sounds are heard and then the door Vert has his ear pressed against is pulled open. He is unable to catch himself before falling towards the floor. He does manage to stop himself from face planting though as he lands in a push-up position. He looks up to see an old man with long white hair and a long white beard. He is wearing clothes that match Vert's and the man's face is mixed with anger and relief. The old man's irises drift to the corner of his eyes and they seem to be staring at the short woman Vert had seen earlier. The short woman looks horrified and is looking at the old man with pleading eyes.
The old man flicks his right hand towards the short girl and she walks down the hallway with a sad expression. The old man looks at Vert, who is picking himself up, with an over-eager smile. Vert can tell it is a facade instantly, and he hasn't had that much interaction with people from over 1,000 years until recently. The man can see the doubt in Vert's face, causing him to sigh defeatedly and frown. He puts his hand in his hair, holding it from falling onto his forehead, mainly due to stress.
"My name is Goreck. I am the Head of the Faculty here. Nice to meet you." he says with a confident voice. He also holds his free hand out in a manner that is asking Vert to shake it. Vert, who is staring Goreck in the eyes looking for signs of hostility, responds rather kindly.

"My name is Vert. Nice to meet you too." Vert puts out his hand too and they shake on their new greeting. Goreck is pleased by this and is reacting kindly to Vert. Vert doesn't know if they know that he is a God Candidate and if they don't, he won't tell them till they ask.
"So where am I exactly?"
"Well, it seems you had encountered one of our... Warriors. They saw you as a threat and ultimately tried to kill you but you proved yourself strong enough to be brought back and asked to join our cause."
"And what cause is that?"
"To take down the Army of Gods that plague our lands."
Vert is extremely intrigued by this as he never thought the God's would join each other in forces. Myria is Sekreath's sister so that can be understandable but many Gods coming together for one cause. It is unthinkable as that much power in one army would surely cause problems in the upper echelons of their ranks. Vert is taking a little bit to mull over his decision, one outcome would be taking down several Gods who are far along on their achievement but the downside would be things like getting used, betrayed, or murdered.
"What is the name of your cause?"
"Hope. That is it, nothing more, nothing less."
Accepting of the simplistic yet powerful name, Vert wouldn't mind working for these people but he wants one thing in return.
"Return my powers back to me and you have yourself a deal."
Goreck thinks over what Vert has said for a second and then he bites the top of his bottom lip. Goreck is extremely overworked since his master is extremely lazy but this is a decision for her to make, but he doesn't want to seem weak to Vert. He wants to look like the leader he is, so he takes a leap of faith even though his master might not like it.
"No."
The voice of a woman fills the air as Goreck went to tell Vert his answer, which was yes. Goreck looks to his left and so does Vert. A white-haired woman with a Pure White Scythe stands in the hallway, staring Vert down. Goreck looks angrily at the woman and turns towards her.
"This is not your decision Lis. Go back to your post and do not come back, that is an order."
Goreck said that last part with extra emphasis and seriousness. The woman winces as she continues to stand there, unmoving. Goreck sees this and becomes angry as his hands turn into balls of fists. The white-haired woman shakes her head a few times and looks back at Vert.
"You have an evil power that must be contained by our Devouring Scythes! I will not let Miya release your powers! I would rather die than receive your help! YOU ARE PUTRI-."
Goreck puts his hand out in front of him and the silver banded ring on his finger shines brilliantly. The woman shuts up instantly and begins to tear up in anger. She turns around and walks down the hallway even though it seems to be against her own will. Vert stands there, confused and amazed at the same time. This man named Goreck must be pretty strong if he made one of the girls with Scythes turn around and shut up.
"What was that about exactly?"
"I have no idea, but I will talk to the one who took your powers, Miya, on you getting them back. Follow me."

Legends of The Wesh: Lochley
The Universe is held together by something. It is an undisputable truth but nobody knows what that something is. People claim that it is connected by The Path of Legends, where Gods traversed trying to find the meaning of their own existence. Others claim that the universe is a Tree, connecting worlds with its extending branches and giving life-bearing fruits to its inhabitants. Several even claimed that the Universe is just a colony of ants, that this universe and the worlds in it are just as insignificant as insects. In one of the Worlds in it, the arrival of someone signaled great changes. Gods will die, Trees will Rot, Insects will burn. Those at the top had fallen and they will upend the worlds trying to claim what was theirs. Those at the bottom have had enough of scraps and they yearned to devour the fruits of the worlds. Those that were innocent and caught in between had no choice but to persist, lest they get erased by the surging tides. Nobody knows where will they end, but everybody knew where they started. They will not be judged, they will not be rebuked, they will not be curbed, they will not be vanquished. The universe is their canvas and it’s time — time to paint their truths upon it. The world of Lochley has been at peace for centuries and its undercurrents are growing restless from waiting… waiting for that spark of opportunity to ignite and swallow the world whole.
