《I Am the "God of Death", Whatever That Means. (Original)》Zombies are Idiots. Chapter 19

The Kitsune scoffs as it sees the sign that insinuates that the God of Death plans on making his own kingdom. He doesn't know what Mortem means but it has a weird ring to it.
"Why exactly are you making a kingdom? Shouldn't you be doing things that involve killing people?"
"This is one of my achievement paths?"
"Wait, just one, does that mean you have multiple?!"
Vert just tilts his head after the Kitsune remarks. He didn't understand why the Kitsune was so surprised at the fact that he had 3 different paths.
"Ya, I have 3, how many did you have?"
"I only had one?!"
Vert let out a small 'Ehh~?' as he was surprised at what the Kitsune had just told him. Kaitla had told him he had the hardest achievements out of the others but to also have more choices than the others was just ridiculous. Did they think him very highly, or did they want him to fail? This is all Vert could think about for the next hour. He told Sekreath the Kitsune to stay in the Town Hall while he went out to do stuff. Vert had other projects to work on so he would put off worrying about the achievements until he saw Kaitla next.
'Where did she go anyway?'
Vert swears she disappeared as fast as she appeared, but then again she was the servant to the God Seraph so she must be pretty strong. Vert exits the small village and goes into God Form 1. He could feel that his muscle begin to ache as he has not had sleep for a while but this isn't the time for that. He pulls his scythe out of thin air and puts his hand up to the black looking blade.
He focuses on his hand and pulls out 10 souls. He carefully examines said souls and nods his head in acceptance of what is in front of him. He puts his hand down on the ground and casts a spell to bring the souls back to life.
"Manifest."
10 holes in the ground appear and creatures begin to come out of said holes. All of them looked like normal cat people as they once were but if you looked at their eyes, they looked soulless. Vert had used his knowledge to find 10 souls that would turn into zombies that he could have to populate his new village. He looked at the zombies and they definitely looked like real people. He was surprised that none of them had said anything about him being their master but he decided that maybe they didn't have to when summoned but was just a choice. The Ghoul he summoned, who was now dead, had said this so this is why he was confused.

He walked up to one and decided to touch it. As his hand touched the zombie he could feel no warmth at all and was surprisingly bone chilling cold. There was 5 female zombies and 5 male zombies. Vert walked up to one of the older looking zombies who looked like a blacksmith. They all came from the ground with clothes on surprisingly and he had on a leather apron.
'Hello, are you a blacksmith?'
'Uuuugggghhhhhhh.'
Yep, Vert knew there would be a drawback to the zombies and this was a big one. They did not have the ability to talk and could barely be considered a "Self-conscious being". Vert shook his head as he couldn't think of a way around this lack of communication if they were to be citizens. He had planned to make them into citizens and have them here so maybe more people will flock here since there was an abundance of land to be taken and used. He turned off God Form 1 and started walking back towards the town, he thought of a way around the speech problem maybe.
'Follow me.'
He could hear the zombies begin to follow him but they were slow and stumbled a lot. Vert began to get slightly frustrated at how stupid these zombies actually were.
'Fuck should've just summoned the skeletons and claimed that I found a new race of people. Well, that wouldn't work well either, would it? *Sighs* This is hard than I thought it would be.'
The shambling corpses finally made it into the middle of the small village and Vert decided to try out his new plan to avoid the speech problem. A cut appears on the front of the neck of all of the zombies but it is not deep. They didn't bleed at all and Vert doubted they even had blood. Liafa comes running over to Vert with an excited face.
'Right on time.'
"I did it, Vert! I made the mansion like you asked!"
Vert had asked Liafa to do 2 things before he left the village. One was to return the land around the village to a lush green grass compared to the ashes that were there before. The second was to make a house the size of 3 of the Inns combined, which Vert ultimately called a mansion. This mansion had 20 rooms, 2 living rooms on opposite sides of the house, a massive kitchen, and finally a huge open room at Vert's request. It had yet to be furnished since he told Liafa to report back to him immediately after she made the actual foundation and skeleton of the house. He didn't know the limit to her powers and it seemed she was beginning to get very tired even if she had just taken a nap after coming at of Sekreath's control.

"Good job, I can also see that there is grass again, I am so proud of you!"
Vert put his hand on her head and disheveled her bright green hair. If he wasn't mistaken, she seemed to be a lot more grown than when he first met her. She looks like she is about 15 at this point. As Vert continues to pet the girl, she begins to look more and more energized.
"I have one more final request for the day, make stitches to close the cuts on these peoples necks."
Laifa looks at the 10 people that were behind Vert and she lets out a small scream.
'Even though their throats are slit, they are not even bleeding?! Nevermind, I won't question him.'
Small vines come out of Liafa's hand and insert themselves into the neck of the zombies. They make a stitch like formation and close the wounds of the zombies.
'Now if anyone ever comes to the town and asks why you have cuts on your necks, show them this note and don't do anything else.'
Vert gave all of the zombies a note that said the same thing. He teleported and wrote the notes faster than the eyes can see so it looked like the paper came out of nowhere even though he got it from the Town Hall. The note reads as shown.
"9 others and I were captured by a sick man and he took our ability to speak. Our gracious Lord Vert saved us from this crazed man. If you have any more questions please ask him."
Vert hoped that the zombies could at least do something simple as this and they all nodded their heads to accept the order from Vert. He let out a breath of relief and decided to break them into pairs. He made 3 straight couples, 1 lesbian couple, and 1 gay couple. This was to hopefully show that this town accepts any and all. He gave them the simple command of 'Do what you used to do in your past life' hoping maybe they would remember and surprisingly they did. He recognized one of the lesbian girls as the assistant receptionist for the Inn so she would be the official receptionist of the Inn now. With all of the houses, there was a store connected at the first floor and the actual living space on the second floor. Vert had made a simple tools store that sold farming tools, swords, and armor that Liafa had made. They were not the best make but they looked the part. The actual tools were not made of metal but in fact made of wood but looked like they would actually work if used. Vert didn't know the length of Liafa's power but he wasn't going to question it anytime soon.
There was also a restaurant which was owned by the gay male couple. The food was of course made by Liafa and they had a sizeable garden behind their house. There was a furniture store that sold simple sets of furniture if anyone wanted to furnish their houses if they ever wanted to move here and build a house. The final store was actually a small pub which mainly served drinks and alcohol and would be an important place for Vert's later plans. This was all made in one day by Liafa and Vert was surprised at the small girl's powers. Fortunately, the zombies didn't need to eat or didn't even need sleep but they would still sleep anyways to play the part. Vert had fine tuned their actions as the day slowly came to an end. There was still 4 empty houses that he didn't know what to do with at the time and he also needed to ask Liafa to furnish the mansion soon.
Vert enters a small house that had Emeralda inside and goes up the stairs, Liafa following him. They walk up to the bedroom and open the door to see Emeralda was still asleep and has yet to awaken from when Sekreath controlled her. Vert had already asked Sekreath when she would awake and he simply answered 'Whenever she wants to' which was strangely vague but Vert couldn't get any more out of him. Vert just shakes his head as worry rushes throughout his body and goes into the second bed in the room. Liafa slips into the same bed and snuggles up to Vert. He went to protest but he was too tired to do anything about it. He feels himself slip into a deep sleep with a slight sense of paranoia that someone is watching him.
