《I Am the "God of Death", Whatever That Means. (Original)》Kaitla. Chapter 16

Vert could feel the knowledge of how to control the souls of the undead begin to fill his brain. He doesn't exactly know how this happened but he figured he might have leveled up or something like that. He could feel the pain and sorrow the souls had gone through and their restlessness. Before he could do anything, a presence appeared behind him.
"Congratulations, you have killed your first god. It seems you already have the reward for it in your head."
Vert could recognize this voice as a certain monotone cat girl. He turns around and confirms it is in fact her. He didn't know what she was but he did know that she had helped him telepathically so he was grateful to her. As fast as he can go to say something the cat girl interrupts him.
"My name is Kaitla and I am the apprentice to the God Seraph. He has sent me here to inform you of any questions you have."
'Alright, she is here to help me. I'll have to ask her how I got on this planet.'
Vert begins to open his mouth and is interrupted again.
"Any question at all and I will answer it as soon as possible."
"Ok so-."
"I will answer your questions, I promise."
"Then stop interrup-."
"Pervert."
'Goddamnit this again. She interrupting me so she doesn't have to answer my questions.'
"Silence."
Vert thought about ripping her vocals cords out but he figured scaring her to be quiet would be enough. He let out the most deadly aura he could and Kaitla seemed completely unfazed. The ground began to deteriorate and lightning began to crack around Vert. His eyes were filled with a bloodlust that could make the most experienced fighters begin to call for their mothers. If you looked really closely, you could see a slight quivering in her knees and Vert noticed this. God Form 1 was a truly terrifying thing in the hands of the God of Death. This was the first time Vert actually got a good look at Kaitla and she had on a plaid skirt with a plain white dress shirt and in fact, she looked like a school girl to Vert.

'Wait, what's a school girl? Ah, nevermind.'
"Now that you won't interrupt me, who am I and why should I complete these achievements."
"You are the candidate that Seraph, the God of Justice, has chosen to fight for him in the tournament for the next Head Chief of the Council position since the last one is dead. The first candidate to complete one Final Achievement is declared the winner of the competition and is made into a true God. The God who chose this person is made the Head Chief as they were the one to see the most potential in that person and chose them out of Quintillions of choices. You were chosen for the reason you have the natural ability to kill anything that can breathe and the title "God of Death" was bestowed to you by the Council for this specific reason. Another reason you should complete said achievements is to regain your old memories, gain knowledge, and to gain incomprehensible powers. I will not lie, you have the hardest achievements out of all the other 99, no 98 candidates."
Vert began to process the information he was just told and was beginning to understand. He looked back up at Kaitla, who was still slightly quivering and Vert refused to release this aura since he could get information while in it.
"Ok, what is your purpose now?"
"I am to follow you for the rest of your journey but I am not to interfere physically but I can give you advice. After 2,450 years of you doing nothing but listening to music Seraph gave you a push out the door and that is why you are here."
"That's true, all I did was kill and fight people since I came here, but 2,450 years, that's a lot longer than I thought."

Vert had become a complete killer within the extent of the time he spent in his room and had fought top level heroes for these years. This is why he killed almost anything with ease and why he is so used to his powers.
'I am good at killing things but can I really rule a kingdom? Well, it is not like I have a time limit, if anything to extend my time I just have to kill other Gods. Maybe I should kill all other Gods except for Liafa.'
Vert began to think extensively about what to do in the future and noticed Kaitla began to turn blue in the face. He was confused by this and released his aura that instilled fear into her soul. She lets out a long breath and begins to wheeze heavily. Apparently when the fear of being murdered makes you hold your breath in anticipation so she had been holding her breath when she wasn't speaking. Vert looks back at the souls and pulls out his scythe. He lifted it and the souls were sucked into said scythe. He looked at its black blade and could see all the souls swimming around inside of it. One of them shined brightly which was Sekreath.
'Time to do some necromancy until Liafa wakes up I guess.'

Mana Soul
Like many others across the multiverse, Markus was chosen as this world's hero to fight against the steadily approaching cataclysm. Only, something went horribly wrong. Left with only a handful of memories, Markus has spent years clawing his way up from poverty and officially registered as an adventurer to try and make his fortune. Unfortunately, Artificers are the least combat-capable class of the four classes, and Markus has no connections to join an established party. With the fate of countless worlds hanging in the balance, a chance meeting will determine the course of a war nearly as old as reality itself. Warning: Markus has trauma induced amnesia and will occasionally 'act out of character' or make 'poorly thought out' decisions. These events are rather obvously telegraphed abd represent conflicts between his current personality and the one repressed alongside his trauma. Just something to bear in mind. The story will bounce predominantly back and forth between the primary protagonists every couple of chapters. The time stream is linear, so events are not revisted/rehashed/retold through the narrative format. Characters may comment on something that has occurred, but that's different. Just giving a heads up.Chapters will be around 7-9k and updated 1/week on the same schedule as my other story Ogre Tyrant over the weekend.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
