《I Am the "God of Death", Whatever That Means. (Original)》The battle of Gods. Chapter 15

Allie walked up to Vert and gave him a small peck on the lips. She ignored the fact he was dumbfounded and was balling his eyes out.
"You know we have that concert coming up right, you should be packed. I can't believe you got a concert with Lil Uzi Vert, isn't that amazing! It is already sold out."
Allie had made her way into the kitchen and was making herself a snack after a long day of work. She was a nurse so she had just worked a 12-hour shift. She pulled out a cup of ramen and was warming it up in the microwave. Vert continued to not move. He couldn't believe his eyes as his beautiful wife was alive and well again. His memory of his whole life came back except for the moments after Allie's death. The only other thing he couldn't remember was his name. Allie turned towards Vert and looked at him quizzically.
"Are you okay Vert."
As soon as Vert heard his name, he began to laugh maniacally.
'I see what you did you son of a bitch. Using my memories against me huh?'
Vert knew for a fact that his name in his past life wasn't Vert and that this was all a trick of the God of Deception's doing and plus he knew that Allie was definitely dead so he knew this was all just a ruse. He decided that he would not hold back any of his power and break free of this illusion. Vert activated his God Form 1 and could feel the power inside of him be released at an insane rate. The walls began to crack and Allie too began to crack. She turned around towards Vert and ran to him.
"What are you doing baby! Snap out of it, it is me, Allie!"
"Die."
Vert's eyesight became that of a negative picture and everything began to disintegrate. He is then ripped backward and is in a familiar room. In front of him is a man that has long red hair and has a hand over his eyes, blood is dripping from his eyes.
"Damnit, you should've seen the person you loved the most, why did it not work?!"
Vert teleported in front of the man and grabbed him by the hair. His hair turned white to Vert's touch.
"First, my real name is not Vert, secondly, I am the one who murdered her so I wasn't going to fall for your tricks."
Sekreath was surprised to hear this information but that didn't surprise him since this was the God of Death. Sekreath decided he wouldn't hold back either and also went into God Form 1. The air began to crack and tear as the unfathomable power of the two began to clash. You wouldn't think that the power of Deception would be that strong but it had one unbeatable move. He was able to make molecules in the air change into different molecules using his deception. He located the power from Vert and began to deceive it into a harmless gas of Helium. It was actually working, but his deception was hardly able to keep up with the immense power emitting from Vert. Vert decided it was time to finish this and went to cut Sekreath's head off, but he vanished the second the blade touched him.
'Wait, where did he go?'
Vert was able to spot his presence outside and teleported out there. As soon as he teleported, he is met with a large vine coming right at him. He easily does a backflip and lands while cutting the incoming vine off from the source. Vert looked up to see the plant that was Liafa had grown up to 150 feet tall and its vines covered almost every inch of the town. On top of its head was Sekreath. The ground began to crack and what looked like golems made of vines and thorns began to pop out of the ground. In 3 seconds about 70 of them appeared in front of Vert.Vert finally began to become comfortable with God Form 1 and decided that he would try out its new powers.

"Wow, can't even fight your own battles and makes a little girl do it for him. You're a pussy, you know that?!"
Vert was screaming to Sekreath and was taunting him.
"At least I won't be the one defeated by a little girl!"
Vert finally began to become comfortable with God Form 1 and decided that he would try out its new powers on this army of vine golems. A familiar song to Vert began to vibrate the air. "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark" by Fallout Boy began to blast throughout the whole town. One ability that Vert ever used was that when his songs were played, he could use them as an echolocation for wherever they could be heard. Vert could see everything and anything going on in the town at every second. Is was one of the two main reasons he fought to the sound of music, the other one being that music pumps him up for fights.
"Be-Be-Be careful making wishes in the-."
Vert stops for a second to do a downwards slash with his longsword in his right hand onto the golem to his left and then elbows the one to his right with the same arm. They both instantly turn into black as after Vert's attack. Plus these attack went nicely with the 2 guitar notes played between this line and the next.
"Dark, Dark. Can't be sure when they've hit their-."
Vert immediately follows up the last attack with a spinning slash that cuts down the golem in front of him and kicks off and knees the one behind that in the face. These attacks were timed the as the same as the last one to continue the attacks correlating with the beat.
"Mark, Mark. And besides, in the mean, mean time I'm just dreaming of tear you apart."
Vert points towards Sekreath after saying this and does the throat cutting motion with his thumb to his neck.
"I'm in the de-details with the-."
Vert puts his left hand through the face of a vine golem and uses its body to turn himself 90 degrees and delivers a kick to the face to the golem next to it that puts his foot firmly in its vine filled skull. Both golems disintegrated as he released more death power into them.
"Devil, so now the world can never get me on my-."
Vert then notices a golem behind him and punches upwards and connects with its jaw. The vine golem is sent flying throughout the air and Vert appears above it. He had jumped high into the air and barely managed to reach the altitude of which the golem had achieved, but since he made it he punched with immense force and sent the golem yet again flying but this time towards Sekreath. Liafa easily just snapped at it with her plant jaws and the golem was never seen again. Vert softly lands and more golems appear around him but now the song was getting to the fun part.
"Level. I just gotta get you out the cage, I'm a young lover's rage, gonna need a spark to ignite."
With that being said Vert snapped his fingers and lightning began to form at the tip of his thumb.
"My songs know what you did in the dark~. So-."
Vert punches the ground and electricity begins to surge through it and catches all of the golems on fire due to its hot temperature. A couple of buildings are also set on fire. Vert raises his arms as more electricity begins to surge through him and into the ground and black ash begins to rain from the sky.

"Light 'em up up up, Light 'em up up up, Light 'em up up up, I'M ON FIRE. So light 'em up up up. Light 'em up up up. Light 'em up up up, I'M ON FIRE."
The fire that is completely covering all of the golems is beginning to intensify and they are soon turned to ash. Half of the village is on fire and sparks have reached the vines of Liafa. Severe pain goes throughout her face as her plant body is beginning to burn immensely. Vert finally fished the first chorus with the last "In the dark, dark" and now was the time to begin his assault on Sekreath. Wings began to pop out of Vert's back and they were made entirely of the black looking ash that was raining from the sky. They looked like torn angel wings. Now he had the ability to fly up to Sekreath instead of having to jump.
"Writers keep writing what they-."
Vert had appeared in front of Sekreath in a split second after "they", but Sekreath just instantly vanished. Vert had predicted this would be the case, but something was wrong. The song was at 1:17 when he went to attack Sekreath but now the song was at 1:28. Vert tried to think of a way this could happen and suddenly, the monotone voice came into his head again.
"He is able to deceive anyone around him to believe they are stuck in space and it seems as if he is the only one that can move during this time. Be careful."
Vert heard this loud and clear but how could he beat this? How does he kill an enemy that he can't touch? It took him a split second to realize something, Sekreath had lost a lot of presence when he disappeared. This meant that he had lost power. If Vert could keep this up then maybe Sekreath can only do this ability so many times and will be stuck or even he will become significantly weaker than Vert and he can give him a heart attack. Many different strategies ran through Vert's head in under a second but he had no time to think, the song was continuing.
"A constellation of tears on your-. My childhood spat back out the monster that you see."
Vert tried hard to land a hit on Sekreath, but every time he did, sekreath just disappeared again. As the second chorus began, it ended. Sekreath continued to use this power to trick his mind and just evaded every time without saying a word. Vert began to think and he realized that maybe Sekreath thinks that all of his power comes from listening to music.
'What a foolish man.'
Vert stopped the onslaught and completely cut the music entirely. Sekreath proceeded to stop as well it seemed. They stared at each other for a good while and Vert put complete concentration onto his electricity flowing through the ground, the black ash was still raining from the sky and the whole village was on fire at this point.
*Sekreath's POV*
'Now that he has no music, he has no fighting ability. At least that is what Dolos said. It seems I have enough power for one last "Deceive Time", let's use it to attack instead of evade. God damn this tingling in my toes is fucking annoying.'
Sekreath "stops" time and makes his way towards his unexpecting victim. Vert had his eyes closed and it seemed to Sekreath that he had accepted his defeat. The tingling in Sekreath's toes stopped as he made stopped time and he was in front of Vert at this point.
"Hope you like being reborn."
Sekreath slashed down the dagger he had been carrying with him, but it came in contact with nothing. He slashed again and it still came into contact with nothing. He could feel himself losing the ability to "stop" time so he began to slash wildly at Vert, who was just standing there. The fire that was once at a stand still began to rage again as the area of the "Deceive Time" effect began to become smaller and smaller. At this point, Sekreath began furious as he did not know why he couldn't land a hit on Vert. Blood went flying into the air as Sekreath made one final attack on Vert. Sekreath thinks for a second and he begins to backward fall to the ground. As he lands, all he can see in front of him is his legs standing there as he had been cut in half. A loud scream fills the air.
"To think you could kill the God of Death? How pathetic."
Vert had appeared over the bottomless Sekreath and had a massive, black scythe in his hand.
"To think I was one achievement away from Godhood. Oh well, I'll just come back and kill you!"
Hatred began to fill Sekreath's eyes as he began to slip away. Once a God was killed, all their achievements reset and they had to start all over again. The first person to complete the set of impossible achievements was brought to the Council of Gods and was inducted into it. The god who volunteered said being was made Chief God, as they were able to win the game. This is the game that what Sekreath, Liafa, Vert, and 97 other beings were put into. Vert didn't know this but would find out soon.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but you're not coming back."
Vert placed the tip of his scythe onto Sekreath's chest and Sekreath's body was sucked into a hole in made. Right when Vert had ended the song, the ability to use this scythe came into his head. it was called "Death of God" and was able to permanently kill any God by absorbing said God. Vert had a chance to gain the power of the God he had absorbed, but it didn't work this time. Vert turned around to see the plant monster that was Liafa begin to decay until it was just the little girl laying on the ground. Vert went and picked up the small girl and teleported with her out of the burning city. He teleported to where he last saw Emeralda and she was still there, naked and on the ground. The fire had in fact reached her but she was not even affected by it. Vert put his long shirt over her and it barely managed to cover the important parts. Finally, he teleported them both on top of the hill he was once at and stared down at the burning city. While still in God Form 1, he could see the souls of the dead float over where they had died but at the moment he knew not what to do with them but then it clicked. A smile went across Vert's face as a plan formed in his head what he would do next.

Void Breaker
Note: Sadly, this story is currently on hiatus :( Elizabeth Sayler had lost everything in the bombing of Reaver Stadium. Her career, her fame, her power — all of it vanished the moment she lost use of her legs. Now, she's beginning to lose hope of ever healing herself… until her world integrates into the Void. When the apocalypse comes in a flurry of System messages, everyone on earth is given a choice: give up what they value most in themselves, and acquire a path to their heart’s greatest desire. Most would hesitate, but for Liz? She has nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. Armed with newfound powers in a world teeming with monsters, she’s determined to not only survive, but to somehow break the Void’s endless assault. * * * This is a small note about the portrayal of disability in this story. As much research as I do and as many people as I ask, I will in the end only be able to understand a small portion of paraplegia and similar disabilities. Therefore, if there is anything particularly disrespectful, please do not hesitate to contact me. I always intended to portray disability in a respectful way in this story, but please know that Liz as a character does not start out with a healthy view of disability. This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.
