"Don't fall for his tricks..."
Vert is pulled awake by a sudden slap to his head. He opens his eyes to see Liafa standing over him, on top of the edge of the bath. For some reason, the bath water was surprisingly warm and then Vert finally noticed it. Emeralda was snuggled up to him, naked. Vert tried to remember what happened last night but everything is just completely fuzzy. All that remains in his memory is someone saying "Don't fall for his tricks". Vert shakes his head and decides he will look into it later but for now, he had to get himself out of this predicament. Liafa eyes were not green like before but were red. Vert could feel his heart begin to sink to the bottom of his chest. Liafa sent vines out of her back to ensnare Vert but he saw it coming. He vanished and reappeared and he had put his clothes on already.
"Why don't you just die already?"
"Because I am the God of Death, and also I think you have the wrong idea! I don't even remember what happened last night!"
"I don't care just die!!"
A shriek is heard throughout the whole town that shatters the windows to the Inn they were staying in. Overgrowth begins to form all throughout the room and Vert begins to panic. He realizes the situation is beginning to become dire as the Inn is being destroyed. The only way he figures he can stop this is by equalling Liafa's powers. He tries to exert some of his power, but it is quickly outmatched.
"He said you'd be mine... As long as I just stayed in the room. Everything would be ok and you'd only love me... He lied, and you will be punished for it."

The red is Liafa's eyes begin to glow extremely bright and her power exponentially increases. Vert teleports out of the inn, but not before grabbing Emerald. He is slightly outside the town walls and puts the naked Emeralda down onto the ground.
'What the fuck is going here?!'
Screams begin to fill the air and a high pitched screech is heard for miles around. The screech would deafen most normal people but it didn't affect Vert in the slightest. He peers over the wooden wall to see a massive plant sprouting from the place of the inn. It was about 70 feet tall and it looked like a Venus Fly Trap, but it was had several amounts of vines sprouting out of it and were searching for Vert. In the middle of the plants head was Liafa, whose red eyes were glowing even more brightly than before. The raging plant was grabbing innocent bystanders and wrapping them up in cocoons. The cocoons began to shine brightly and looked like the bright light fed Liafa power.
'I have to do something. Wait what?!'
Vert could feel something extremely hot begin to tug on his leg. He looks down to find Emeralda trying to climb up Vert's body. She is so hot that it is melting Vert's clothes.
"Make love to me... I need you inside of me!"
Emeralda eyes were the same colour of red as Liafa and Vert became extremely enraged.
'What the actual fuck is going on?'
Vert teleports again but this time on top of a small hill near the town. He begins to look down onto the town while trying to rack his brain on what is going on. He didn't want to hurt Liafa but he needed to stop her before she destroyed the whole town or even killed someone. Vert thought about a way to go about this but he was unable to explain why this was all happening, and then he heard the voice again.

"He is controlling them, the God of Deception. You must kill him to bring them back or have to kill them to stop them."
The familiar voice of a monotoned cat girl filled Vert's head. He didn't know how she sent him these thoughts but he now knew what to do to save his friends. Find the God of Deception and kill him.
'Even if he is immortal, I will find a way to end his existence.'
Anger began to flow throughout Vert as he vanished from on top of the hill. The hill became completely devoid of all life as Vert left.
*In the Realm of Gods*
"Are you sure about this Seraph?"
A quiet, monotone voice echoed throughout the whole room as a tall, heavenly figure stood over a massive well. Inside of the well was a pristine image of the hill where Vert once stood. The vast array of the stars in the sky shone brightly into the room as it did not have a roof.
"If he is to fulfil my place he needs to learn to kill other godly candidates. He has much potential to become an official God. For now, he is beginning to blossom."
"Don't you think Dolos will be upset if his candidate is killed? He wants to become Head Chief and is willing to bulldoze all is his way."
"Don't worry dear Kishu, he is the one who tried to hinder my poor Vert's progress, he will get what he deserves."
Seraph began to laugh loudly and his echo was heard throughout the whole realm as he was petting his faithful servant, Kishu.

This is my first work and I will hopefully stay around for a while. I will try to finish or at least expand on this piece of work for quite some time, expect a few hiatuses in between though, still have a bit of schooling to do. Expected release dates will probably be once a week(not sure yet) after I stabilized the novel a bit as I'm still debating on how I should handle this. I prefer fleshed-out works compared to quick releases, but it also depends on how I'm feeling. I don't have a lot of confidence in my writing skills and I believe that my writing style is a bit weird, but I do want to try my best to tell a story that's worth telling. I will gladly accept criticism but please try to pull the punches back a bit! I'm still only human after all. Very excited to work on this, please take good care of me as I proceed on this journey with all of you! P.S. If you're going into my series, expect to see cliches sprinkled here and there. I personally love cliches and a few tropes! But, that goes without saying, I want to put my own spin on them. Be ready to feel the edge!!! Heh.
