"WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE MIGHT BECOME A LOVE INTEREST?!"
Emeralda was glad to see that the two had come out of the hole safely, but Vert was covered in a gold liquid and was talking gibberish in Emeralda's mind. Liafa was over in the corner make a few flowers.
"SHE IS JUST A CHILD?!"
The shrieking coming from Emeralda pierced Vert's ears and made him wince. He tried to explain that if Liafa would show interest in him that he would gladly accept her love.
"She has lived a long time, she was just reborn and growing again. Remember you were a kid once and I still showed you love. Plus I won't abandon you, just love you both equally."
Emeralda's face was red from anger and she was staring into Vert's eyes intensely.
"Am I not good for you? I'll do anything you say! Just don't leave me!"
Emeralda started to cry and Vert just hugged her. He caressed her head and held her close. In the back of his mind, he had a nagging feeling something bad would happen soon. He felt something small touch his back. Liafa had joined in on the hug and was smiling widely. Emeralda had noticed that and began to hiss at Liafa. Emeralda received a small tap to the head.
"Bad, I expect you to accept it too."
Emeralda looked at Vert completely defeated and looked back down at Liafa, who was sticking her tongue out at Emeralda. Fire began to slowly seep out Emeralda's mouth from anger, but she stopped it as she could feel Vert giving her the cold stare.
"Anyways, what did you guys find there and why are you covered with a gold liquid?"
"Vert and I fought a demon! Vert got his arm cut off during the fight but I healed him! Afterward, he completely destroyed the demon while playing some weird sounds."
Emeralda looked at Vert with some concern but was happy he had made it out alive. She took a second and then she finally realized that Liafa had said she healed him.
'If that is true, then she might be more useful than I thought.'
Emeralda decides to accept Liafa for now since she could be useful to Vert.
"Well, I'm going back to check out that room fully so I'll you two to keep each other company."

Before either could object, Vert was gone and the two just looked at each other.
*In the room below Vert's room*
'I wonder if this Seraph person left me anything as a reward if I would've beaten that demon.'
Vert begins to search around the room and is soon met by a magic circle. It has a writing on it that even he can't understand and it is glowing blue very brightly. He puts his hand on it and the circle shines so bright that it blinds Vert. He is met by the smell of something that he has never encountered before. His eyes finally adjust and before he is a massive source of water that stretches as far as the eye can see. He looks below him and he is on the edge of a cliff.
'The feel of this breeze, the smell of what I think is salt, my brain is telling me that this must be an ocean.'
Vert takes a minute to take in the beautiful view before him but it is soon interrupted. Suddenly, Vert can feel two presences appear behind him and he turns around.
'What do you know, they followed me.'
The sight before Vert was Liafa and Emeralda. Liafa looked like she had landed on top of Emeralda during the teleportation and they both winced from the brightness of the sun. Liafa looked completely bewildered.
"Where... Where are we?!"
"Well, it looks like we are on the surface."
Emeralda told Liafa this and out of nowhere, Liafa's face grew bright. She jumped off of Emeralda and landed on the edge of the cliff. She had an amazed look on her face.
"WOOOOOOAH~! I've always wanted to go out of the dungeon!"
As Emeralda tried to drag Liafa from the ledge so she didn't fall off, Vert noticed a green light come down from the sky. He opens the small green gem to find a note inside.
"Congrats God of Death! You have completed your first Milestone *Go outside the dungeon*. You will now be rewarded with 10 pieces of platinum currency!"
A small bag comes out of thin air and Vert catches it. He looks inside to see 10 bright gray coins. He attaches the bag to his pants and begins to think.
'I know about achievements, but what the hell is a milestone?'

Vert's thinking is interrupted by a voice of an old man behind him.
"Hey, you kids! Get away from that cliff before you get hurt!"
Vert turns around to see in fact an old man, but this old man was different. He had what looked like cat ears on his head. He was also speaking a language formerly known to Vert as "Japanese". The old man's eyes widen as he sees Vert's face.
"My my, you aren't from around here, are you?"
"No we are not, do you mind telling us where we are exactly, it seems we are lost."
Vert laughs and puts his hand behind his head as to look like he is embarrassed about being lost. The old man chuckled and waved the three to follow him.
"Where are we going, Vert?"
Liafa was very curious as to why they were following with such a small presence but Vert just pressed his finger to his mouth as to hush her. She nodded her head and continued to follow the old man without saying a word. They arrive at a small cottage and could see a small frail woman sitting on a chair on the porch
"Eugene, who are these strangers you have brought to our house? You do this all the time and I'm getting tired of it."
The small woman stared at the old man who was supposedly Eugene with an angry look.
"Martha, meet the youngins that I met at God's Cliff. They told me they were lost so I was going to help them out."
"Alright, they can stay the night but you have to clean out the storehouse after you are done with it!"
Martha didn't seem very happy but was willing to help out the group of strangers. Once inside the smell of soup filled the air and it was very warm in the house. It was surprisingly cold outside but Vert hadn't noticed till now. Once they all sat down in what seemed to be the living room, Eugene explained to the group where they were.
"You are near a small town called Exail, which is in the country of Zeneva. This country is mostly filled with my kind but we do get visitors of humans like you. What is your name anyway?"
"My name is Vert, this is Liafa, and finally this is Emeralda. As you can see she is not a human like this but she is of the Draconic race."
Eugene smiled at the two girls and they smiled back and looked very interested in Emeralda. After a while of small chat, Martha came into the room and had 4 bowls of soup on a tray.
"It's not much since I didn't know we would have visitors but it is enough for tonight."
Emeralda and Liafa begin to hastily eat the food but Vert wasn't going to eat any. He didn't need to and he can't remember the last time he had even eaten some food. When Emeralda started staying in his room bread and water began to appear out of nowhere so she could eat. Apparently, Liafa needed to eat as well.
'Maybe I'm different from Liafa even though we are technically gods. I have to at least eat a little so we don't look suspicious.'
He eats about half of the bowl and he decided that was enough. The group stays in the living room for a little longer while listening to Eugene's stories about his "Golden Age" and it is eventually dark outside. Liafa had fallen asleep with her head on Vert's lap and Emeralda had her head on his shoulder while drifting away. Eugene noticed and took the group to the extra bed room. Liafa was asleep while Vert carried her into the room and Emeralda groggily followed him in. They all lay down in the same bed and both Liafa and Emeralda were snuggling up to Vert.
'Zeneva huh, doesn't seem like a bad place. Maybe we can get a house here and start a family... Man, I feel so tired, it is actually hard to stay awake.'
Vert's eyes begin to become heavy as this was the most tired he has ever felt in his life. Vert slowly slips away but before he falls asleep he thinks he hears someone chuckling, but he decides to ignore it since he was so tired.

8 56These Games of Ours (Old)
Every few decades, The Game occurs. Rewards are abundant, power is generously given, and a future is possible to all, from the lowly urchin to the Emperor. That is, at least, what the denizens of this world believe it to be as they prepare from one calamity to the other, fostering power and knowledge. Creating guilds and countries; all for the purpose of winning. Nilbog, battered and beat, wants nothing of it. Kara craves for it all. In the process of a re-write. I advise against reading any of this yet.
8 234Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
