"Phoenix's Blood huh?"
Vert mumbles this statement after receiving an explanation of how Emeralda was alive again. Basically, she was born with a legendary class gift called Phoenix's Blood that made it so she could never die, except for old age. If she lost an arm, it would regenerate back after a while and be good as new, but if her whole body is destroyed, she is reborn and has to grow up again. The regrowing up process takes about a week.
"Well now that my power is explained... Why did you try to kill me?"
Emeralda looked at Vert with puppy dog eyes as if she had been betrayed, which she had. Vert couldn't look her in the eyes but she just kept moving in front of his face so he had too. Vert couldn't find the words to explain what happened, so he just pulled her into a hug.
"I'm so sorry... It was an accident."
Vert finally got the courage to say what happened and Emeralda instantly forgave him.
'If he couldn't control himself and didn't mean to hurt me then I can forgive him.'
After Emeralda thought this, she used her small hands to pull Vert into a kiss. He didn't resist until he something popped into his head.
'Wait, isn't this illegal. I don't want to be label a Lolicon.'
This thought kept bugging the back of his head as he continued to kiss Emeralda. She was 18 but she was just in the shape of a 12-year-old. The thought kept getting stronger until Vert completely pulled away.
"What's the matter, honey?"
"I'm sorry, I can't kiss you until your body is back to its regular self. I can still cuddle and stuff though."
Emeralda was confused about why they couldn't kiss but she would not decline an offer to cuddle the one she loved. Vert held the small version of Emeralda in his arms as she fell into a deep sleep.

'I'm not a Lolicon............ Right?'
*A week later*
Vert was laying on his rock asleep while Emeralda wrapped herself around him. She was back to her usual self and Vert was tired of having to make sure she didn't make any advances on him while she was still a kid. His peaceful sleep was interrupted by the sound of his door opening.
'For fuck's sake.'
Vert gets up to see who had entered his room, but no one was there. The door was just standing wide open. He commanded the King to go into that room and report back if he saw anything. The King entered the room and returned shortly after. Vert was able to get the ones he resurrected to speak now.
"There is a book in the room."
That is all the King said and then he sat down. Vert looked a little confused, he figured that an adventurer would have taken the book from the room since no one was there to guard it. Vert gets Emeralda up and goes towards the room. He is stopped by Emeralda though.
"Piggyback ride!"
"Are you sure you still aren't a kid?"
"Hey! It's your fault to begin with. You have to make it up to me!"
Vert just chuckled and shook his head. He bent over and Emeralda jumped on his back. The warmth of Emeralda on Vert's back made him feel happy on the inside.
'Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as an idea as I thought.'
They got to the doorway and Vert stopped. He realized that he had never been outside of his room so this would be the first time he was somewhere new. A shock of excitement shot through his body as he went through the doorway. The room was big and had 6 other doors in it. There was also a tunnel on the other side of the room which looked like where the adventurers would come from. Vert spots the book and goes to grab it. He spots a little note on it and reads the note.

"Hey, God of Death. I know this might seem a little weird but it looks like I forgot to give you your achievement book when I sent you here, Sorry about that! Anyways, here you go and good luck! - Seraph"
'Forgot to give me my achievement book? Lazy assholes.'
Vert picked up the book and walked back to his room. Once he entered the door shut again. He sat down on his rock and untangled Emeralda's legs that were around him. He looks back to make sure she is okay and she is completely passed out already. She had fallen asleep again when Vert walked through the doorway. Vert just shrugged at the fact she could fall asleep so fast and opened the book. The following achievements were on the first, second, and third page.

The rest of the pages are blank and there are about 50 of them. Vert looked at the achievements and thought about which ones he should do first. He looked back at the sleeping Emeralda and decided he would join her in a peaceful sleep.
'I'll figure it out when I wake up.'

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.
