《The Fragile Monster Lord》Chapter 148 Subordinate And Boss

-First of all I am not a I am a second of all who are you ?
I asked flicking the forehead of this rabbit with my index finger,my small action was relatively painless since I wasn't strong, but it was still enough to irritate the giant rabbit as it puffed its cheeks very so cutely even though I knew it was dissatisfied.
-Hmph,do you think this is the right way to treat a queen ? I don't care what you are,be it or in my eyes you are still a savage being !
The horned rabbit retorted being surprisingly poisonous with her tongue, her attitude quickly turning prideful as well and I couldn't even understand why she was acting so high and mighty in front of me...after all she was a goddamn rabbit a prisoner too !
Calling me a savage being even though she is one of the most wild animals in this bunch is very contradicting, but at the same time I don't know what she considers savage or noble she is a animal after all there is no,point in asking.
Using my transmission link,I signaled hobura what to do,she immediately took the notice and pulled the ear of the horned rabbit making her immediately experience some pain and cut out the annoying way she spoke.
-You didn't answer my question, who are you ? And where did you come from ?
At this point, she knew that it wasn't going to go well for her if she continued to be stubborn she at least had some amount of rational thinking and quickly laid out who she was and from where she came from.
The rabbit herself doesn't have a name, she is called by her people as the light rabbit or the queen currently she is the sole ruler of the horned rabbits a royalty so to speak,in my opinion she is more of a evolved form of a horned rabbit then a royalty, but I didn't comment on it and just listened further.
The reason she is called the light rabbit is because she was able to understand and learn how to use on her own basically she was somehow able to comprehend the laws of mana and invoked her own element inside of her like any other person which wasn't very shocking if I had to be honest.
She didn't rule for a very long time, her mother who was also a queen died not too long ago from old age which is why she needed to take over the position for her mother and become the new queen herself added with the fact that she was a magician too the people or in a better sense the horned rabbits were delighter for their new ruler.
Listening to her,my imagination would sometimes go a bit too wild,I couldn't comprehend how the rabbits would live with each other or make something like a tribe...did they have a hierarchy system ? democracy ? Communism ? Monarchy ? Dictatorship ? or a Republic ? judging that this big rabbit was their sole ruler I would assume that they work on either monarchy or a communism system.
Either of these options seemed just too ridiculous to me since this was a rabbit we were talking about...habi a horned rabbit I had met previous was very knowledgeable about plants and wild life taking this on account the rabbits could live for a very long time without starving since this forest was full of fruits and vegetables, but their fighting power in my opinion was just too small for their survival to last long enough, they would be immediately picked off by a bigger beast if it so desired and from what I know rabbits simply don't fight they are herbivore's so they don't eat meat meaning that they don't need to hunt something for food.

They only run away, even if they would have the advantage in a fight rabbits seem to be automatically more cowardly a prime example is this so called queen who preferred to run away even though she had her magic which she could have used any time to deal with the wolf, but only using it at the very end when she didn't have any ways out...ruling such animals...wasn't it a bit too much or did the rabbits just don't care ?
In anyways,I didn't comment on anything and simply continued listening, the army I had seen far away from here which was dispatched by the demon king seemed to have destroyed her home, because of this every rabbit in the vicinity had to run away,no one followed the queen nor did anyone care about her as she ran away like any other rabbit scared witless fleeing from the destruction that came from the monster army, many of her people seemed to have died, but looking at this so called queen I already knew that she couldn't care less...
Her attitude slightly disturbed me since I love and looking at this big fellow I also couldn't help, but feel charmed by it at first, but after getting further into the conversation and acquiring a basic gist of her personality I started to look at this fluffy animal in a different light.
Finally after a few hours of running the queen figured that she was a safe distance away and rested for a bit only to discover that a wolf had come it was hidden behind trees and was already about to pounce at her,she needed to run once again this time running from the horrors of the forest so she wouldn't get eaten through this endeavor hobura noticed the two which finally ended up in this situation.
-Hmm understand...
I said, nodding my head while looking at this huge rabbit in front of me my eyes were slightly cold, but the rabbit didn't queen didn't seem to have noticed at all and just smiled with a proud look on her face regaining some of her dignity by talking about herself,at least thats what I thought she was doing.
-Its good if you understand ! If so you should let me go since I am a queen I don't deserve to be in such savage place !
Once again the giant rabbit started to get delusional even hobura looked at her as if she was an idiot, she couldn't even understand her language, but could immediately tell from the expression the rabbit made her hands tingling as she was tempted to just pull her ear and make her experience some more pain...in the future I have to warn hobura that she can't that that all the time it would be bad for the rabbit after all.
I grinned for a moment the grin slowly turned into a full fletched smile as I stared at giant rabbit in front of me as if expecting something from me unfortunately this wasn't going to happen.
-Because you are a queen obviously you are special and because you are special I will allow you to stay with us as hobura's new mount I hope you two get a long
-...heh ?
In that very moment the atmosphere significantly colder as the rabbit became a bit more rigid its pawns shivering for a bit not because of the cold, but because of the harsh reality she was in.
I only glanced at this big rabbit once and decided that it was enough I had already wasted too much time looking at this big fellow and turned around walking towards rimulu who was playing with some of the beasts that were laying on the ground...no,not playing rather she was looking at these beasts with a hungry look on her face,it seems like she had taken a liking to the variety of meat that was present and wanted to get a bite out of one of them.

The beasts who had seen her look weren't as prideful or gutsy enough next to their new owners and could only cower in fear as they felt the sharp hungry stare of the dragon loli looking at them,I quickly quickened my pace towards rimulu hoping that she wouldn't do anything bad or give a heart attack to the beasts, but just as I was doing so the rabbit behind me quickly followed gently with a terrified look on her face.
-Wait ! Wait ! Please let me free I didn't do anything wrong !
The rabbit was desperate...I sighed, there was a sinking feeling deep down my heart as I heard the rabbits words...it was true she didn't do anything wrong so she shouldn't be caught right ?
Wrong, this isn't a society with rules we bound to there is no government or police to regulate us the sole rule of this forest was the rule of the jungle where the strong rule the weak,if you want to survive you have to be strong only the strong can eat while the weak will become food even if she didn't do anything wrong it didn't mean she was an exception towards this rule.
My attitude turned cold for a moment swiftly turning back towards the rabbit as I stated with a clear thought in my mind my eyes changing into a deep snow storm as the rabbit was stuck in place almost frozen by my stare.
-From today on you are hobura's mount she will take responsibility for what you do and yourself, but do know that you will also have to listen to her and do what she says.If you hurt your new owner or if you attack your companion then know that you won't go off easy...
The last bit I voiced with a bit of killing intent which made the poor rabbit queen shiver, but she indeed understood my words at this point and didn't dare to go against me,she was a bit too pampered in my opinion she obviously never entered the forest and only lived inside her home her whole life seeing the real world outside was harsh, but she would understand,it was already a blessing for her to be picked up by hobura as this rabbit couldn't have possibly survived this forest all by herself, she may not be thankful now or ever, but she would one day.
The rest of the beasts had their eyes on me for a while now, they seemed to have understood on a deeper level that I was the person who was in charge which is why they started to get a bit more respectful, these beasts didn't need to be lectured they were all experienced in this forest and knew exactly well what kind of situation they got themselves into if they resisted they would be killed without hesitation and because everyone wanted to live it was only a reasonable thing to do,but to submit for your life it was cruel, but it was still how the world was.
Afterwards nothing major happened,I did go around meeting every beast and talking with it some bit, their intelligence was pretty good almost reaching that of a teenager they were initially surprised that I could communicate with them and quickly accustomed to it as they answered some of my questions such as what they eat and if they needed something special to live.
I was basically making a lot of preparations to make the beasts comfortable in their new environment since I was going to build something like a barn or a stable their sizes were different and they all lived in different environment so I needed to make it optimal for them so they would be satisfied diving these guys into different sections as herbivores, omnivores and carnivores.
The numbers were pretty even most of these creatures were omnivores while meat was the meal that they preferred the most, but the herbivores weren't small either as half of them liked fruits and vegetables too.
Right now I gave them enough time to get acquaintance with their new owners, each beast had already seen the strength their new owner wielded to subdue them easily which was bloody and painful.
Something that would be kept in their heads for a while which would serve as a reminded of status and strength,of course a relationship wouldn't be established in mere minutes which made the initial awkwardness a bit understandable as some started out a bit distanced from their owner maybe hurt from their pride as a beast being broken so fast there also some beasts who were quickly accustomed to it not accepting it immediately, but still acknowledging the other party as their new owner these beasts were a bit rare and they owners were hoboku, hobuha and habana.
Hoboku's horse the was the least hurt beast in this flock, the horse was tamed by hoboku through the skill, which she used to constantly bring fear into the horse and black it out until it completely submitted to her.The experience must have been incredibly torturous for the horse and looking at it I could tell immediately tell that it may have had the most pride and confidence in this group, but after hoboku's nightmare ride he seemed to have been relatively scarred mentally.
The experience gave the horse a very deep impression of its new owner which made it automatically not dare to go against her at all costs, but now seeing that very same person stroking its mane so peacefully may have charmed the horse some bit as it took a very long time to stare at hoboku's smile with a amazed look on its face.
Hobuha's was really a surprise, looking at these two I could tell that they seemed to very friendly with each other, the tiger looked very intimidating with black fur and radiating sun stripes that looked as if they were burning.
From what I know hobuha had only used brute force to fight the tiger she couldn't use her magic since it would killed it if she did and even though she was a magician and had very small amount of strength she still won at the end without getting injured which showed how overwhelmingly strong she was even though she was a magician.
The nature of the tiger nor its intents were unknown to me,but I had a very distinctive feeling that the tiger simply respected strength which is why it was so ready to be docile in front of hobuha.
Hobuha herself was still a bit shy and anxious while sitting next to the huge tiger muttering something while the tiger simply listened to its new mistress even though both of them couldn't understand one another they still got into the same wave length of understand to one another,it wasn't a fully trusting relationship they got,but it would in time I was sure.
Lastly habana's looked like a lion with a lot of armor attached to it,the lion was flashy and pure white simply sitting in front of habana with a very bored look on its face almost about to sleep, habana herself was talking cheerily to the lion even though it looked like it was only a one sided conversation with herself.
These two were relatively odd as the lion when he came had only a single spot injured which was its right hind leg, evidently habana being a agility oriented character used her speed to overwhelm the lion and attack it with her blades, the armor was very hard and something that even the girls would have trouble penetrating, but it seemed like habana didn't have any trouble with it and simply avoided it cutting its hind leg which must have made the lion very impressed finally decided to follow habana on his own free will, sort of like a person decided to become a subordinate of a boss looking at these two it was also very fitting match really.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
