《A Hero Would Not Live a Happy Life》North
Advertisement
After everything Kara said, it would be difficult for you to decide not to go north. It would be like running away from all of the problems that she laid out before you. Though, she was also the one that offered you and her to disappear into the wilderness for no less than ten years. About a third of a common man's life. You would think she is trying to turn you into a monk, but then the things she allows to happen behind closed doors seem to contradict that thought.
“I'm getting used to how small you are.” Kara moans as you hold her legs and hammer into her at a particular angle that you've found to work on the demanding fox-woman. When she says that however you pause. She looks up at you curiously.
“Could you not say stuff like that?”
“It's a compliment. You're using what you have pretty well.” She says innocently enough for you to keep going. As you feel like you are about to finish you surprise her by turning her onto her side and lifting her up off the bed by her one leg to make it even easier to push into her in a way she likes. Kara, satisfyingly, responds in a way you might expect; she tenses and gasps while you try to hold your pleasure to the last second. Your last few thrusts are harder and deeper than the ones you've given already, illiciting quick, melodic little moans from her. Finally, when you can't hold it anymore you pull out, letting your release paint her belly with a few quick spurts.
She returns to her back and sprawls out.
“I think you are getting better. A human girl, or even an elf will really enjoy it.”
You do not have to consider the implications of what she said. You plant your face in your palm and drag it down. “But not you?” You ask.
Kara tilts her head to one side empathetically. “It's fun.”
“But you're not satisfied, are you?”

“Not really, no.” She says bluntly. You did not expect her to sugar coat things for you, since she never has, but that forwardness feels like a gut punch. She sees your expression and clarifies right away.
“I'm just used to bigger men. That's what I need to enjoy myself.” Kara sits up and smiles.
“You are getting pretty savvy, though. I think you know how to handle a woman, for the most part and that's pretty good. On that side of things you're covered.” You feel a little better about her compliment knowing that she would not have given it if it weren't true.
A thought crosses your mind. “Not sexually, but what about-”
Kara cuts you off with a light sigh. “No, I don't think so.”
“You didn't even hear what I had to say.” You utter in frustration.
Kara slides onto the edge of the bed and moves her face close to yours. With serious, solemn expression she states.
“I just can't see myself getting attached to a human in that way. We're good friends and we can fuck comfortably, but you're a human.”
You look at her in disbelief. “You were lecturing me about racism a while ago.”
She does not look frustrated, just a bit tired by the conversation. “It's nothing against human's nature, it's just that...” She trails off. You can see that she is not sure that she wants to say what she was about to say.
“What?” You insist.
“At some point in the coming decades, no matter how skilled or talented you are you're gonna die and I'll keep on living. Even if my people's magic somehow makes you live longer, you will die and I'll keep on living. We can't start a family because we aren't compatible. You may as well just cum inside of me as much as you want, as a side thing...” Kara shakes her head lightly, looking a bit saddened by having to explain this to you.

“It's just not gonna be fruitful, so I can't be your girl, your wife, your lover or whatever. Not truly.”
You stare in disbelief. She looks like she is waiting for you to run out, as she is eyeing the door. Instead, you just stare her down.
“You think that, but you came all the way from wherever the hell you're from to train me to be a hero. For what? My short lifespan should be getting in the way of that, right?” Your heart is beating quickly. You are absolutely flustered but the words, although faintly cracking as you speaking, are coming to you naturally.
Kara looks away awkwardly. “I mean... Humans can still accomplish things in their lifetime. That much isn't in question.”
“But when it comes to relationships, a human can't accomplish anything in their lifetime if their partner is going to live past them?” She returns her golden gaze to you, unblinking and filled with faint recognition.
“If I accomplish anything, I'll still die eventually. The hope is that the effects of my actions carry on past my lifespan. Couldn't it be the same with a relationship?” Kara's eyes widen and her cheeks flush. Her pupils flit around as she rapidly considers what you are saying.
“I just don't fucking get it, so explain it to me if I'm wrong, please.” She leans up and kisses you suddenly, then leans back guiltily.
“Shut up.” She slides back onto the bed and hugs her knees to her chest.
“I don't know. Potentially. Maybe?” Kara shrugs.
“You have a point I can't ignore, but...”
“But?”
“I can't be in a relationship in your human sense. You just can't satisfy me fully.” She sees you open your mouth to protest, then adds.
“Physically.” You are quiet after she says that. You can not argue with that feeling she has.
“Also, compatibly. Even if we do things together that create lasting 'effects' like you said, there won't be a lasting physical effect. Children, I mean.”
It is not surprising to you that she is traditionally minded. “I mean... It doesn't have to be that serious.”
Kara looks up at you and makes face. “You're the one talking about this stuff!”
“S-sorry.” You stammer.
“You're right, you're right.”
She sighs. “That's something that's important to me.” The fact that she has explained these conditions to you does make you feel better. You thought you could lose her any moment to any human with a bigger dick. The reality was, she did not think much of any of them. None of them can meet the important requirements to become attached. But, that leaves you in the same boat as them. That same relief comes with annoyance that the same thing keeping her from leaving you is what is separating you and her this moment.
“We could try?” You ask.
Her ears twitch. Kara looks at you skeptically. “It wont work, our bodies are incompatible.”
“No no, just...” You groan, pinching the bridge of your nose.
“God you're dense sometimes.”
“Hey!”
“Try.. Just being together. Without that stuff. Leave it for now and see where it goes if we just... Try.” You explain as best you can.
“Try?” She furrows her crimson brow tightly. Finally she asks.
“If we are going to try your human version of this relationship thing, you have to accept parts of my version.”
“Okay?”
“I can't be tied down.” She begins.
“Uh...” You think that defeats the whole purpose.
“Physically.” She finishes her request.
You cross your arms. “You want to... Be in a human-style relationship where you are allowed to have sex with other men?” You rephrase in disbelief.
“You can have sex with other women, too! I think that's fine.” You look down in thought, mulling over the choice presented. It comes down to whether you want to try to make that strange arrangement work, or just keep the casual air you both have currently.

Author's Note: - This story will contain litrpg elements like Titles, Skills, and Levels. - MC will not become instantly powerful. I plan for a slower grind with a focus on the characters themselves rather than their abilities. - This is my first attempt at a litrpg story, so please leave any comments/suggestions you have!

The Fate of The Summoned (being ReWritten)
The Fate of The Summoned In the world of Aethion things are vastly different than on Earth. There is Magic and Monsters, as well as Demons and Dragons. Throughout the history of the world there have been many wars, both between all the various nations and kingdoms and between those nations and kingdoms and the Demonic forces lead by a Demon King or Lord. There are times that the Demons gain so much more power than the other nations, or that the others are embroiled in a war against each other and the lone nation is targeted by the demons. It was during these occasions that the various Gods and Goddesses started giving two things to the races. The First of these things were the Blessings, magical blessings given to the worth for chosen things. The Second of these things were the Summoning rituals, magic rituals that could summon beings from somewhere else, that would be Chosen, by the gods. These beings have almost always come from our world, Earth. It has been centuries since this practice began and the countries of the world have almost always flourished for a time after a Chosen or group of them were Summoned. All of the countries treat the Summoned well, almost like kings or princes in their own right. Well, not all countries, there are some that have treated them almost like slaves, though those countries don’t usually last long. There is one though, that has lasted, for a long time due to their connection to their Patron Deity, the Goddess of Light. They only accept certain types of Summoned and they dote on certain members of the country more than others. Several years ago they performed a summoning, as they were being plagued by overflow from the dungeons. Now they, like the other countries of Aethion, have performed the ritual to fight against the current Demon King, who is said to possess a Blessing. This is a story about Fate, and those that fight against it and those who accept it. In this story the main character(s) do not fight their fate, like those in my other story, rather they embrace it and let it shape them, though that does not mean they are total slaves to it. While there will be similarities to most other Hero sumoning novels, i hope the Mcs abilities and such will make it unique.
