《A Hero Would Not Live a Happy Life》No Deal

You slap away Sam's hand. “No! No to all of that. I'm not going to accept a gross trade and I'm not going to accept you marrying my mom.”
The man is not phased by your refusal. “That's unfortunate, because I get everything I want with enough time. Watch.” Sam opens the door and motions for you to follow him outside. You walk out tentatively, observing your mother talking with Kara somewhat pensively. They both turn to look at you, then Kara turns her head to see Sam walking towards them; she regards him with a moderate amount of disgust. Marrien is a bit more reserved. She is obviously uncomfortable, but resolved to hide her deeper feelings.
“The boy and I just had a chat.” Sam comments, walking to Marrien confidently. He drapes an arm around her slender waist and pulls her into him. You cringe as he leans down and shamelessly tongues your mothers lips before pushing between them to kiss incredibly sloppy. The kisses you've seen, in general, have been pecks. Polite but loving. With this you see him imposing himself onto her, yet she is not fighting back at all. After he releases her she turns her head to hide her embarrassment and wipes her mouth.
“Ahh, wonderful. Can you both tell how much my new wife loves me?” He turns to look at you tauntingly. He then looks to Kara.
“Dear, if you're ever interested in joining us, let me know. I have room in my bed for more than one woman. Or... We could spend some quality time away from the house. Whatever you prefer.”
He chuckles, almost talking to himself. No one around him wants to speak, either out of shock or submission or in Kara's case, confusion. The Beastwoman did not look like she understood the first thing about what he was offering, or why.
“That's enough. Kara, let's go check out the woods.” You walk quickly past Sam and your mother and take Kara's hand, pulling her down the rows of planted fields towards the tree-line.
“Don't be a stranger!” Sam shouts after them jovially.
As you are walking you hear a voice call out to you. “Wait!” You stop and turn to see a familiar figure pulling up the hem of her dress to run after you. While out of breath she asks.
“You weren't going to leave without seeing me, were you?”
You shake your head. “No. Sorry, I just couldn't stick around and watch that any longer.” Looking back, both your mother and Sam had returned to the house. You give your sister a worried look.
“You aren't actually staying in that house, are you?”

She shakes her head, her auburn locks waving back and forth. Your sister is about the same age as you, give or take a few months. You are not twins, but the similarities between you two mean you may as well be.
“I'm staying in the village with a friend. Mom suggested it. I still come back to tend to the garden, though. When I do that bastard is always either staring at me or pawing at mom like he owns her.” She furrows her brow tightly.
“We need to do something about this, right?”
“I agree, but I can't do anything yet. I need to get stronger. Get more influence.”
“You need to go into politics or business, then. Not adventuring.” Fiona says critically.
“Are you really so intent on following in dad's footsteps, even while this is happening to our town?”
“I'd be doing something else if this wasn't my best opportunity. I have a special trait that should let me get stronger faster. I'm going to become a hero. Heroes have influence, right?”
Fiona looks at you skeptically. “I mean-” She then stops and notices the third wheel standing off to the side. Her fox ears are twitching as each of you speak.
“Who's this?”
“This is Kara.” You realize you are still holding Kara's hand and quickly let go. She did not seem to mind, however.
“She is going to teach me magic.” Kara doesn't speak, but instead gives a little wave.
Fiona reluctantly lifts her skepticism just a bit, observing the fox woman curiously. “She's... Just going to be teaching you magic? Is there anything else going on?”
“There's nothing else, really.” You claim, unable to keep yourself from sounding awkward as you remember the encounter you had on the way here.
Kara chooses this moment as a good time to speak and casually utters. “He's had every opportunity to do 'this and that' and hasn't, so I think what he's saying is true.”
“Uh..” After hearing her say that your mouth drops open and your face flushes to a bright red color.
Fiona holds her stomach and bends over laughing. “Alright! Good to know some things never change.” She bends back and lifts a hand to her chin to think.
“A hero... Maybe that's enough. Just make sure you don't disappear like dad did.”
“I wont. I promise. Wherever I end up going I'll be back.” You becomes somewhat stern, adding.
“He'll be back, too! Just wait.”
Fiona rolls her eyes shallowly. “Sure.” She looks to the treeline in which you are headed.
“Where are you both going?”
“We can't train in the town because the flow of magic is off, Right?” You look to Kara.

She closes her eyes, tilts her head up and inhales deeply through her nose. After a few moments she opens her eyes and nods. “Yep. Not impossible, but not great.” She then glances towards the house, tilting her head quizzically.
“If you're going into the woods you should gather some remedies I have stored in the house. I don't like going there, but if you're both with me I feel comfortable.”
“Yeah, alright. Could be helpful, thank you.” You smile and begin leading her and Kara back to the house.
“I hate that we have to be hesitant about visiting our own home! It's ridiculous.”
“Agreed.” Fiona nods.
You all enter into your home, expecting to see Sam and Marrien on the ground floor in either the kitchen or the sitting room. Looking around, your mother is not in her office, either.
“Are they upstairs?” You question.
“Yes, they're in my room, next to mom's.” Fiona comments.
“Not that, Mother and that man.”
Fiona realizes what you're saying and gulps. “We should just get what we need and go.”
“Why?” You ask, ascending the stairs. Kara follows directly behind you and Fiona trails slightly. As you get closer to the top of the stairs it opens up into a wide, straight hallway. There are a few rooms on the top floor, but your sister's is at the end, bordering your parents room. Though, you know your mother spends most nights in her office, so it is odd that she is not there now. The door is slightly open and you hear sounds coming from the room. You look back to see that Kara can hear them, too, and is interested. Fiona is looking off to the side awkwardly.
“I don't know where the stuff is in your room.” You state.
Walking down the hall, you are all huddled together. Though it is not your choice, you simply find that the two women are sticking close to you for some reason. As you get closer to the door, close enough to see inside and hear clearly you begin to understand what is happening. As you stare in you see a clear view of your mother's naked body facing the door. Sam is behind her, lifting one of her long legs up from the bend in her knee to keep them spread. Before you can look away you see a few things. You see his huge cock splitting your mother open, practically. You catch them while it is buried inside so you only see the thickness at first, but as it draws out you feel more and more insignificant as inches are added to the length, with even more yet unseen since the man does not pull all the way out before slamming back into her pussy.
“O-ooh gods!” You hear your mother moan. It is not pain. Definitely not. She is not aware of your presence but Sam quickly looks up and stares at you while he is fucking your mother.
He smirks and speaks clearly. “Your tune changes quite a bit when you're in bed, doesn't it?” She moans, but does not answer. This prompts him to reach around and aggressively grope one of her large tits. He kneads into it and pinches her perky nipples.
“Doesn't it!”
Her body tenses. “Y-yes!”
“You know how this works, Marrien. If you aren't vocal I'm gonna stop.” The man provides an ultimatum. It confuses you, because presumably stopping is exactly what she should want. So you wonder why in the world she would answer him. To your surprise, she answers without hesitation.
“I love your dick! Keep fucking me, please!” her voice does not just sound pleasured, it sounds desperate.
“Keep talking!” Sam groans
“I love you! I love you! I love you!” She utters over and over again as Sam pounds into her.
“I need your dick! I need this, it's been so long!”
You gulp and take a step back, bumping into Kara. You turn to see her entranced by the scene. She whispers. “He is very... Dominant.” You also see Fiona watching, covering her mouth and looking quite bothered. Her face is red and she looks like she is having trouble standing. You quickly usher her into her room and quietly close the door as the sounds of moans hit a crescendo inside.
“His is a lot bigger than yours.” Kara whispers to you frankly.
“Is that normal?”
“Mine is normal.” You snap back at her quietly.
She looks down. “Oh.”
After a few moments Fiora leaves her room with a pack. You grab her and Kara by the wrist and drag them downstairs.
“I-I picked all this stuff from the garden and turned it into salves and potions a while back.” She comments, obviously still shaken by why you all saw and heard. As you all leave the house Kara closes her eyes and sniffs the air again, following her nose to the patch of flowers and herbs.
“What is it?” You ask, watching the Beastwoman walk right into the middle of the colorful field.
She raises her arms. “This plot is thick in mana. We could potentially stay closer to town, in that case, if you're worried about your family.”
Fiona lifts her head. “So... You wouldn't have to leave?”

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

This is the story of Wesley's adventuring party as they do their best to get him to fulfull his destiny.
