By my request, Kori jumped from my head and landed perfectly on Pristin’s face. She panic and let go of my cloak.

FINALLY, I thought I was going to die!! I glanced backward, and found that everyone is trying hard to hang on. This is bad, if I don’t do something soon, this will end badly!

The 3 assassin trio managed to grabbed and stick to Yuchi’s scale with their knife.

Gosa struck her knife hard to the scale to have a firm foothold, she then swing herself to grab Kara who’s going to fall. Sampa managed to do the same as Gosa, and grabbed Shifun who’s going to fall.

“Lily!”

Suddenly, Lily separated from the group and fell because of the fast forward Yuchi. Gosa and Sampa nodded to each other and swing Shifun and Kara. Shifun and Kara locked their hand to form a net and grab Lily.

Seriously, that was awesome! Their teamwork is pretty good. I’m relieved that they are dependable in a time like this. Right now, it’s my turn.

“Ice Domain, Ice Wall!”

Ice wall protruded from Yuchi scale and formed a barricade to hold anyone who’s going to fall. I made it wide and high enough. With the surrounding was blocked with ice wall, everyone started to get ahold of themselves and adapted to the speed.

I was going to jump on the ice wall to see the front, but then my cloak was grabbed again and I fell backward on the ground. It’s hurt! It’s not the ground, it’s Yuichi’s hard scale. I fell that my head just hit a metal and it’s ringing.

“Just what’s the hell you’re thinking?!”

“Right back at you! White-sama, what’s wrong with you?!”

The one who shouted is Pristin with tattoo on her face – no, wait. It’s not tattoo. It’s Kori’s leg mark. When Kori jumped on her, she must have been grabbed so hard that she left mark on Pristin’s face like this. Knowing this hard, my pain is gone, and I’m trying to hold it in.

Since he was rare high monster, I inherited skill from him, and my skill Tame has also leveled up which increase the number of monster I can tame to 6.

Zooming in as if piercing through the snow and ice, I finally located several dark object flying in the sky. I zoomed even closer and I saw dark skin with wings flapping toward the city. Their face is ugly and they looked with fixed expression like gargoyle. As I was spying on them, one of them suddenly turned to me. Seriously? Did it sense me from here?

Suddenly, my sense of view zoomed back instantly as the skill run out of its duration. Damn, I’m getting dizzy. No matter how long it has been, I’ll never get used to this feeling. Calm down.

I was able to calm down, and the blur in my view began to fade. Everything got clear again after I blink few times.

Arh~ did I mention? The two shadows that jumped from Yuichi are Shifun-chan and me. Well, I don’t think it’s hard to identify me who’s crazy enough – no, I’m not crazy, I’m a dare devil and a cheat one at that!

Both of us are falling fast into the surge of snow, we can’t see anything, and we can’t hear anything. However, I can feel it. The moment, we were about to hit the ground, I grabbed Shifun-chan’s hand and pulled her close to me.

“Ice Pillar”

Both of us launched like a bullet toward another direction. I held her hand tight and repeated the action several time over and over again, until we see the swarm of the gargoyles. It seems that the plan is going smoothly since there’s no strange movement of those gargoyles. Well, it’s easier for me as well.

The plan is simple. Shifun-chan and I will halt the advanced of those demon. And then Pristin and the other will go to the city to stop whatever happened in there. It’s good for Pristin too since I think that I have been bullying her for a while now. It’s not a flag, right? I think I’m afraid of flag now.

“White-san! They are coming!”

Oh, while we were jumping up and down, some gargoyle are coming this way. There are 6 of them, all for the better, let have Shifun-chan practiced a bit.

The gargoyle with the mocking face laughed at me, and then its whole face regenerated in a fast rate. Let’s me say this, that face is fucking annoying.

“Shifun-chan, that will be your kill. I hold off another 5, so get going.”

I said that, but she was completely afraid. Her whole body is shaking non-stop, and she isn’t holding her sword properly.

“It’s impossible. I can’t fight. I can’t – ARHHH!!!”

Did I hit her trauma or something? She looked like she completely lost it. Those gargoyles also laughed in a wicked way as if provoking us. And then she charged toward them recklessly. The other gargoyles see this as chance and tried to attack her.

“Ice Chromosphere”

I used the new advanced magic I got from a scroll, and then it formed transparent dome to cover us and a single gargoyle. I can use light shield as defensive magic, but they can destroy in a single attack so it’s no good. This magic is similar to the dome I created through snow and ice manipulation, but its defensive property is better. I didn’t notice, but later I found out that it formed with similar structure of a diamond.

The trapped gargoyle came and jumped to bite me. I kicked it away. And let’s me say, it was a full power kick with Ki in it. The gargoyle’s head is completely blown away, but then it got up again and regenerate it’s head.

“Shifun-chan”

“I can’t! I can’t!”

“shifun-chan?”

I was surprise to see that Shifun-chan in that state. The gargoyle roared and charged toward her. I was late in reaction, but then Kori jumped in and blocked that gargoyle for Shifun-chan.

*Krrr*

Kori stood before the gargoyle, and they glared at each other.

“Again, it’s going to happen again. Please, stop it. Stop it. Please stop it”

Shifun-chan dropped her sword and hugged herself crying. This is bad. I need to stop her before she lost her heart. However, what should I do? DAMN! Think! Think harder.

“Mama, save me. Mama, save me. Mama, Everyone. Anyone Save me!”

Shifun-chan is shaking violently and she began to murmur to herself. This is bad, if they attack her, I might not be able to protect her. In any rate, I need to make her stand up.

However, resorting to that method is also mean that this gargoyle is weak as well. Their claws are strong, but that’s the only thing about it. It didn’t have speed, and it didn’t know how to do complex attack.

So it was supposed to be weaker monster in the vortex, but what really make them strong is their regeneration ability. I crushed the head and even blew it off once. It still got back up laughing as if nothing happened. Those are what I can draw from what I see. It’s pretty smart too since it didn’t care about, yet it kept daunting Shifun-chan who’s currently weak.

I think it’s about time to wake Shifun-chan up. I thought so, and then I started walking toward her. I stood in front of her while turning my back to her.

“White-san, White-san, White-san”

She began to call my name and clang to my cloak. I can feel her trembling and her relieved. However, this isn’t what I wanted.

“You came. White-san. Thank god. Thank god. White-san. You came. You really came. I know you would come to pro –”

“I won’t protect you!”

I cut her off with stern voice.

“Wh-wh-wh-wh”

I can hear the voice coming from her mouth, but I couldn’t understand it. She opened and closed her mouth undetermined of what to say.

“I won’t protect you! It’s not my job. I have no obligation to save you.”

Sorry, but I’ll be heartless this time.

“I told you before that the way that I walked is dangerous. You followed me yourself. So it’s your own responsibility”

I said that and then I started walking forward, and I can feel that she is gripping my cloak hard.

“Wait- Don’t go- Don’t leave me~”

She cried begging me, but I forcefully removed her grip on my cloak and kept walking forward.

“Shifun, did you forget what you said to me? Did you forget that you would swear on your soul and sword to protect people? Is it only to this degree? Did you forget that you also swear to protect me? I trusted you”

I saw that coming, and I could have avoided it easily. However, doing so would be meaningless. I let it clawed me, and then I gave it another punch to the face. That punch blew that monster away, and I see my own chest started bleeding. The wound sealed from my own regenerative power since it wasn’t too deep.

The gargoyle got back up and dashed toward me again. I also charged toward it with a war cry. After few exchange, I was in a pitiful state which my whole body started bleeding all over. Grasping for my breath, that monster laughed kikikiki daunting me.

Let’s me say this, this is an act. I purposely made myself injured from that demon attack, and fully acted my role. This is all to wake Shifun-chan up from her state. What I say earlier has left her in a depression state. Of course, it’s better than leaving her in the state of fear and trauma.

When my wound began to heal itself, I rushed toward the monster and let it clawed me multiple times to inflict fresh wound on myself.

“White-san. Stop it. Why are you fighting? Stop it. You’ll die!”

“It’s doesn’t matter. Even so, I’ll still keep fighting.”

“It’s impossible. They can’t die! We can’t beat demon.”

“So what? So what if I can’t beat demon? I’ll keep fighting and fighting until I beat it. That’s the only thing matter to me now. Nothing else matter!”

“Stop it. You can’t win this. You’re not suit for this! Run!”

To think that she still think of my welfare, this mean that her mind has improved better now. I somehow avoid let her heart broken by its own.

I shouted out loud and then I rushed off again. The monster also rushed off toward me as well. Since this is the climax of the situation, I’ll let you have the triumph.

The moment we came into contact, I missed my piercing, and the demon came and struck me with its claw. It didn’t even hit my vital point, but to add up the spice. I struck my own body with my hand and gulped a mouth full of blood out. I walked a few steps, and then I fell down.

Acting SUCCESS! Oh, the gargoyle is having a stupid look on its face.

“White-san? White-san?”

Shifun-chan started calling to me. Ok, don’t move!

Kori seemingly mad, also dashed off toward the demon. The demon swung her lightly, but she was blown away and faint in the snow.

Suddenly, Shifun started screaming, and energy began gusting out of her. The surrounding wind is screaming as well. And then that appeared. Faintly, but the golden halo from before appeared on her head again.

What the heck is this?!?

“Fight~”

Shifun-chan began to reach for her sword.

“Fight~”

She murmured, and then the surge of wind energy began to beat around her like a heartbeat.

Seriously, what’s the heck is this??!! An awakening?? Is awakening is going to happen or something???!! This is bad!! I’m getting really excited!

“Fight!!”

She held her sword tight.

“Sorry. I won’t run away now. Sorry, White-san. Just wait a little bit more. I’ll save you! I’ll never let you suffer like this again.”

She readied her stance.

“I’m a knight. And I swore to protect the people I care. Demon, I won’t hand over anyone ever again!!!”

She shouted, and the surge of wing energy gust out from her intensely.

“Sky Splitter Verse 1! Wind Howl!!”

Wind energy surrounded her sword strong enough to be visible to naked eyes. And then she dashed toward the gargoyle fast. The gargoyle sensed something wrong, and then it started running.

Shifun-chan missed it and hit its wing instead. And then wind energy obliterated its wing accompanied with loud shockwave. The energy continued to hit the ice chromosphere leaving a scratch on it.

I was speechless. That was one hell of an overpowered skill! What with that??!

After that, she is breathing hard. That must have taken a lot of her mana. The wind energy that surrounded her sword is gone. And then it began to swirl again. Is she trying to charge up?

Arh! Stupid! It will get to you before you finished charging up!

Just like I said, that gargoyle charged toward her seeing that she was charging up. I changed my role from a corpse to a helping hand, and jumped to grab that gargoyle’s feet.

That gargoyle squeaked fearfully. Hahaha~ That’s cute. HOWEVER, I WON’T LET YOU GO.

“Shifun!!! DO IT!!!!”

“Sky Splitter Verse 1! Wind Howl!!”

She swung her sword with her might, and I threw the gargoyle toward her sword.

*Screech*

The gargoyle finished its death cry, and the several serpent like wind energy obliterated it completely.

Shifun-chan is breathing hard, and then she staggered. I caught her before she fall, and used new magic which I got.

“Goddess Grace”

Light healing magic poured down on both of us, and I was healed with no damage at all. The halo on her head disappeared.

“I did it. White-san”

Shifun-chan grabbed my arm and looked up at me while crying.

“I finally did. I killed that demon. I avenged for everyone.”

I somehow understand what she meant, I patted her head and nodded in understanding.

“Hmm. You did it. That was awesome. However, it’s too soon to relax. There’s more and more of them to come.”

Shifun-chan parted from me, and wiped her tear.

“Hai! Please leave the front line to me from on!”

She said and faced other gargoyle outside the Ice chromosphere. It seemed that she has gotten Resistance skill just like I did since she didn’t waver after staring at them for this long. She is even laughing. No, wait – she isn’t getting any new weird habit right?

Those gargoyles started to get scared of us instead and they tried to run. Did you think that I let you run away?

“Absolute Zero”

Ice Chromosphere returned its energy form, and burst outward freezing everything in sight. Those 5 gargoyles started falling, and then Shifun-chan dashed to finish them off.

Those demons are strong because of their regenerative power. Taking that into consideration, if they regenerate their damaged part. Then we only have to complete destroy it so that it got nothing to regenerate from.

My ice which completely froze it and shattered into particle with a touch from Shifun-chan sword.

I confirmed their death with the message showing their experiences. And then I looked toward the place where the swarm of demon heading.

“Ice Arrow : Changed Form Piercing Arrow”

I summoned hundreds of arrow and let them rain toward those swarm of demon. Of course, that wouldn’t kill them. I just wanted to slow them down.

“White-san!”

“Hmm”

I grabbed Shifun-chan and took off with an ice pillar. Demon killing is on the serve and next stop, Venolia city.

Huh? Where am I?

I promptly opened my eyes and the sky is getting dark already. What happened?

I remember that I captured a strange guy this morning, and then –

My head’s hurt. I can’t remember anything. I looked around and I knew that I am in my own room. Why? How did I end up here?

I got up and then I tried my best to remember what’s going on. Seemingly impossible to remember immediately, I got out of the room and walked around.

It was awfully silent and I didn’t find anyone in the mansion. Passing a certain guest room, I remember that I told Orlando to keep the strange man inside this room. I opened the room and I went inside. However, he was nowhere to be found.

The bed showed that he did rest here, but now he’s gone. Does that mean that he’s already woken up? I suddenly remember the glare he gave this morning. I have a bad premonition and then I ran to search for everyone.

I want to shake away the bad thought I had, and so I started running and calling out everyone’s name. I turned at the corner, and then I found someone. I sighed in relieved.

“Orlando. There you are. I was searching for you. Orlando?”

I talked to him, but he didn’t reply. He just stood there motionless. I approached him, but then –

“Paricel-sama! Stop!! Run away”

I heard Tilan who came running and took my hand away.

“Huh? What do you mean?”

Suddenly, I heard a sword clash. I turned around and saw Orlando swung his sword down. Why? If Tilan hadn’t stopped me, his swung would have killed me. Why? Orlando!

I looked at him and I was shocked. His eyes turned red, and they looked as if there’s no soul in it.

Tilan took my hand and pulled me. After I ran, Orlando, and other people came out walking toward me. They all looked the same. Why? What’s going on?

I shook my head thinking about it and then I began running after her. All the guards, and even the maid are trying to get me. Even the head maid is holding a knife. Why?
