It was supposed to be a normal mission. 20 of us dispatched for a mission to capture runaway people, and it was supposed to be an easy task for us – I believe it so.

The plan changed a bit since we got information from the informant that those people had taken a special route to ‘Gleamia’ through the Vortex Belly. Everyone was surprise because we heard that there’s no storm in the Vortex Belly.

Unless the plan changed till a certain degree, I still believe that we can do it. Because of our 20-men formation and our boss – berserker, even the opponent is a 9 star knight, we still can a hard battle. Taken their route in consideration, we planned an ambush along the path.

Waiting like forever, we were vary of our surrounding. However, it was really strange that we haven’t found any monster at all along the way. Disappearance of the monster seemed too strange, could someone have raid this place?

Impossible! I discarded that idea immediately. Even a 12-men squad of 9 stars knight couldn’t last in the Vortex Belly for 3 days, and not to mention the casualty after that.

The idea of someone or some group raiding this place is just too absurd. However, if that’s really true then just imagine the loots from of all those monsters. I’m drooling from the thought that the lowest would be at least a magical weapon.

“There they come. Prepared yourself”

While I was thinking over something else, the boss voice brought me back to the reality. Just like he said, they come in 3 carriages pulled by Kokualas. As per the boss command, we aimed for the Kokuala with magic. Like I thought, those flightless birds look really stupid just like their master who’s going to meet their demise.

The magician had their spell ready to go at any time, and we were waiting for our moment. Those Kokuala pedaled on without minding where it was going and what it was walking on.

“NOW”

The boss shouted, and then the floor where those carriages are collapsed. It was the trap we made especially for them. And then we let loose our spell attacking those 3 carriages. Since our mission was to bring them back, we attacked with snow ball and ice ball which can knocked them out cold assuming that they were hit only with few. Since it was a magic spell, people can die from hitting too many at the same times. However, it wasn’t in our concern. Boss always said that accident are bounded to happen when we’re in Vortex Belly and so it is fine to go all out.

After the barrage of magic finished, we went to check on those 3 carriages. The Kokuala are dead from those magic spell, but there were no people inside the carriage. There were a dummy made from cloth filled with snow and ice.

“DAMN!!! How dare those fools trying to trick me? The carriages is still warm, they couldn’t have gone far. FIND THEM AND KILL THEM!!!”

““OH!!!””

We shouted out loud and we went on our own Kakuala. Following the carriages track, we came to a point where there foot print going in a different path from the carriage. And so we traced it until we went a bit deep into the Vortex Belly.

We were following the right track, but that track entered a cave. We were suspicious about it first, but we decided to go the cave. We were vigilant at all time since monster might attack us. Thankfully, the cave leaded a straight path forward.

And then we came to a dead end, yet we didn’t find any of them. Did we got tricked again?

“The trail end here, but I don’t know where they have gone to.”

“Useless! They couldn’t just disappear you know!”

“There might be a secret door or passage. If it is made with magic, then they must have a capable magician. And it’s hard to find that door.”

“UESLESS BUNCH! If you can’t find them, you just have to destroy everything! I’ll do it myself!”

The boss took out his enchanted sword and slammed down hard. His enchanted sword was a special among the enchanted sword. Due to sheer luck, when he enchanted his sword, it was blessed with a skill – ‘Wind Pressure’. The moment he slammed down, we all feel heavy from his sword’s enchanted skill. And then the surrounding snow went flat from his skill as well. The wind pressure spread fast and then –

“ArhH!”

Suddenly, he heard a scream. We turned toward the source, and saw the wall cracked and shatter revealing those people. And then we realized that they were using water magic ‘Illusion Mirage’ to hide themselves. When the boss see that, he started laughing out loud and order us to capture them. There’re only girls, kids, and old people. It’s going to be piece of cake, but then that came.

Pure white hair boy in white cloak with golden snowflake embroiled and a female knight in blue armor fell from somewhere and stood between us and those people.

Majestic pure white hair that only the royal blood line have. It is the very symbol of fear and dignity of Crystalium that indicate the majestic Pure Ancient Ice. Pure Ancient Ice is so powerful that normal ice, water or wind element is rendered useless and dispersed before it. Lineage of the Queen Linia who have pure white hair while possessing the power to control pure ancient ice are called ‘Ice Saint’. However, acquiring that title isn’t easy as he or she has to master several Pure Ancient Ice technique.

Could this boy be –

Impossible! Even the Queen’s hair only has small portion of whiteness, and she’s the strongest in controlling the Pure Ancient Ice. The amount of the whiteness of one hair indicated how powerful they are. This boy’s hair is completely white, wouldn’t he be the strongest ‘Ice Saint’?!

I don’t believe it. That boy must have dyed his own hair white. There’s no possible reason to explain this. Yeah, this boy is just some punk who want to be an ‘Ice Saint’. However, what’s with this eerie feeling? Why am I shaking? I couldn’t shake this feeling off me, and it was as if I’m walking into a monster’s mouth.

I was lost in thought, but I woke up when I was ordered to shoot him with magic. I thought our magic hit the target, but a wall rose up blocking all the magic. At that time, we were surprise. He was a magician?!! And to rise wall that thick and high isn’t some normal magician can do. And he didn’t even use wand which amplify the effect of magic at all. This could only mean that he’s a natural Ice Mage and an advanced one at that.

The boss were surprise, but then he grinned viciously just like when he found someone strong to fight. He took out his sword and then he walked toward the ice wall. He swung his sword and it was deflected! That enchanted sword was deflected from the ice wall! Just how strong is that wall??!

The boss then ordered us all to attack the ice wall. It took a while, but we were able to knock it down. Suddenly, we heard someone screamed. We couldn’t see that brat anywhere, and so we thought that he must have been crushed by his own wall. How stupid! From the size and toughness of that wall, no one would have survive if it were to fall on.

The boss frowned since he lost his prey, and then he ordered to attack and captured those people. We magician started moving toward them, but then something happened. We couldn’t get close to them. There was something transparent covering them. Different from the ice wall, yet similar in effect, all of our attacks were deflected.

Other was baffled, but I knew that it was a magic that I have never heard before. An advanced Ice Mage and never seen before magic, I started to have a really bad feeling about this.

Finally, it started to crack. After putting in effort, the transparent shield cracked. Seeing that, I started to think that fear was just an illusionary one. There’s nothing to be afraid. That magic was just his last resort. That brat is already dead beneath his own ice wall. We got to the last layer, and it will break soon. This is the only time that I want to finish this mission as fast as possible, and escaped this place. Just as when our hope went high, we were met with despair.

When I took noticed, it was already too late. Counting the people on our side, I was surprise. I thought that our side were surrounding that transparent shield and breaking it. However, I didn’t notice until now that 2 of us went missing.

Before I could think of what’s going on, that happened in front of me. One knight from our side were attacking the shield with vigor, but then he was pulled down below the snow immediately. It was just *Poof* and he’s gone. No one saw that and no one bothered who’s went missing as well.

*Shatter*

Suddenly, that transparent shield shattered and then knight rushed inside. They marked on the female knight in blue armor. There were 13 of us charged toward her, but then 3 of knights disappeared into the snow below. 5 other knights stopped moving completely – they were inflected with ‘Frozen’ status. And then that female knight was able to kill 3 of knights instantly.

People might think that she’s strong, but I saw what happened. Those who fought against that female knights were either tripped or lose footing, and more importantly something in the snow grabbed their foot. It was a hand!

The alarm in my head goes off wildly and I know that something isn’t right! I used my wand and target children. I don’t know what or who’s doing this, but I’ll drag him out.

I used most of magic, but then that female knight got there in time and blocked most attacks. That’s impossible! It’s impossible to deflect magic attack. Who’s the female knight??!!

Suddenly that female knight began to move. She dashed in for the boss. There’re only 11 of us left, so that woman must thinking of ending this fast. Those who stand in her path got tripped and fell dead on her single attack. However, since she move away from those children, I cast magic again and target them.

That female knight turned around and got slashed. No matter how fast she is, she wouldn’t be able to get to those kids. It’s our win.

*Poof*

Suddenly, something burst from the snow in front of those children and it blocked all of the magic. And I felt shiver down to my bone. It was that white hair kid holding a meat shield. What burst out of the snow was our comrade and that white hair kid. I couldn’t believe that he use our comrade a meat shield to take all of the magic attack.

We all saw that, and we were dumbstruck. That white hair kid nonchalantly throw our comrade away and erect another similar transparent shield.

5 of the knights that got ‘Frozen’ moved again and rushed toward that white hair kid. They were attacking the transparent shield with anger. I saw that and I felt angry, but I know that I can’t break that shield with only my magic, and so I turned to the female knight.

She lost her footing, and were about to lose, but then something flew from the snow and bend our comrade’s neck hard killing him in one blow. It was a monster, and it was helping that female knight. It even protect her from magic attack. What’s going on?!! Suddenly, I got the feeling to run away. My feet couldn’t help but shaking.

The boss took on that female knight challenge, and then we were to destroy that white hair kid’s shield. The boss was going to fight, I felt relieved, but I still couldn’t shake off this eerie feeling. Can he win??

The boss pressed hard in attacking, but then that female knight can block and deflect his attack. Her armor was even amazing, it could withstand the power from boss’s enchanted sword. Her sword was even amazing. It stabbed through boss’s armor like they were nothing, and just 3 stabs forced the boss to enter his berserk state.

We’re losing. I know that we’ll lose this fight. And I know that I will lose my life if I fight here as well. I wanted to run, but then my leg wouldn’t move. I looked down, and I found an ice snake bit my leg, and they turned frozen. That snake moved swiftly and went on biting everyone. We tried attacking it, but it went into the snow and disappeared.

DAMN! What’s going on??!! I can’t move and we’re all in disarray. We knew that, but we still went on attacking that white hair kid. At least, I’m taking you down with me. I thought and readied my spell. That white hair kid released his shield and dashed in. 5 knights that were going to attack him are all dead and collapsed before they can do anything. What’s with that guy!!! DON’T COME!!

We fired off our spell in everywhere due to fear, but then it stopped his track. We felt relieved, but then we were greeted with death. Numerous ice arrows clouded the ceiling, and they were Pure Ancient Ice Arrow. Sweat didn’t come out anymore. I really wish that I could faint like the guy near me.

It was supposed to be an easy mission, but the moment we met that Ice Saint. Our doom was decided. Those arrows flickered and moved toward us. And then we were all pierced by that arrow and our body shattered like ice fragment.

I healed both Kori and Shifun immediately. Shifun’s appearance had turned back to normal since a while ago as the halo and wing disappeared into her body. However, I still couldn’t see her status.

Kori-chan on the other hand was in dire state. Her scale and inner shell got crushed and she’s bleeding badly. I focus on my healing her and I kept stacking ‘Rejuvenate’ on her.

… Sorry. I’m speechless. I don’t know what to say to this. An artifact grade equipment are often mentioned in fairy tales and stuff. And their characteristic are all differed from one story to another. In any story, those who possess it are great hero or vassal that soon become a god. However, their common thing is the power to rival god.

My mind is getting at the stuck point since I don’t have information of god and stuff. So I can’t compare them at all. The armor looked the same and the base stats only increased by little. The enhancement are too overkill and I don’t want to talk about them. And the strangest part is the ‘Racial Bonus Stats’. They are filled with question marks and there’s a lot of them.

Imagine the impossible, I clapped my hand together and pray solemnly.

‘Please don’t become a cheat character.’

After that, I found myself locking on to one thing on the snow. My first impression is glass. If it weren’t for its weight that pressed the snow forming its outer form, I don’t think I would notice it. Why? Because it’s completely transparent.

I picked it up, I held it in my hand, and then I noticed something. The grip has the same feeling of a little Iceberg. I remembered that little Iceberg that Shifun-chan held underwent transformation as well. The blue color of the sword has gone, and now the sword has become completely transparent just like glass.

I smiled and walked toward her. I took her hand, and then I concentrated my energy.

I redirected those energy to heal the parts which are damaged badly. Everyone is grasping for breath as I healed the old woman. Am I look that strange? Well, they might be shocked since I glowed whenever I used light magic. However, shouldn’t that be normal for anyone?

After I was done, and her negative status was gone, I helped her up.

“If it’s to this extend, then it’s fine. Everyone must be tired from running. Please leave the healing to me.”

The old woman asked me.

I didn’t lie. I really only have little knowledge about human body. Well, it’s enough for me to know what’s wrong with my body, and how to get better by my own.

The old woman tried to bow again, but I caught her. Well, since I just heal the inflammation and removed the stress in her joint, I don’t recommend her doing any excessive movement. I told her to sit and rest, and then I made a giant igloo that was enough to cover at least 40 people.

The children were cheering in awe. They even screamed even louder when I released Light Trinket. During that time, Kori woke up. She was furious since the children’s loud voice woke her up. Since she was running amok on my head, the children was afraid of her. However, they calmed down when I sooth Kori and put her down.

“Her name is Kori-chan. She won’t bite so don’t worry.”

I held Kori in my arm and present her to them. Lily-chan stepped forward and touched Kori’s scale.

Lily-chan is smiling and touching Kori-chan. She doesn’t afraid of Kori anymore.

I asked Lily-chan while holding Kori-chan. Lily-chan nodded and spread her hand to hold Kori-chan. I let go of Kori-chan, and Lily-chan hugged her tight. Since Kori-chan is big, Lily-chan barely hold her in place.

Lily-chan said while her legs started shaking. Arh~ you shouldn’t say that someone is heavy when you volunteer to hold them, you know! When I tried to take Kori-chan back, Kori-chan suddenly crawl around Lily-chan body and went to the ground herself. And then she took Lily-chan by surprise making her fall to sit on her. And then she started circling around me.

And then I told the children off to play. Kori-chan went off carrying Lily-chan on her back. Other children went after her. And then I went back to heal everyone. Everyone suffered minor injury, and I was able to heal them with ‘Light Heal’ and ‘Rejuvenate’, but I can’t heal any negative status.

I decided to test something, and then it worked miracle. When I dropped my blood on their injury, it removed their negative status and healed their wound. I thought my skill only worked with poison, but it also worked with this.

There’re some negative buff that couldn’t be healed my magic and blood. And so I used Restoration Stone for that purpose. I don’t really have many of them, but I think that it’s worth it to save those dying people.

She calmed down and looked down in embarrassment. She pointed toward a direction, and then I started running. After a few turn, we came to a girl side who’s lying on the floor and her chest is bleeding hard. Another girl is casting ‘Light heal’ on her rapidly, but there no effect on it.

“Kara Pyon! How is Sampa Pyon~?”

“Gosa Mee~. She doesn’t stop bleeding Mee~ I don’t know what to do Mee~”

The girl who is casting ‘Light heal’ is crying badly. She might be running out of mana, since the effect of ‘Light Heal’ is getting weaker and weaker. However, Why ‘Mee~’?

I let Gosa who’s always add Pyon~ at the end of her sentence get to the ground. And then she started running off to her sisters’ side. I just healed her leg, so right now she can walk just fine.

The two girl begged me, but even if they didn’t beg me, I would have done the same. I rushed to their aid, and then I started inspecting her. Blood damped her clothes, and her breathing is getting weaker. I tore her clothes immediately and I was shocked.

There was a large cut on her chest, and it was her vital point. I’m amazed how she was able to survive till now. I don’t know how long it has been, but her flesh is getting rotten.

‘Restoration Stone Release’

I took out a Restoration Stone and have her eaten it. Her HP is going up as her complexion is getting better. However, the rotten flesh didn’t heal back. Since when she was weak, her sense was dull and she couldn’t feel most pain. However, when I fully restored her, her sense of pain came back, and she’s screaming loudly.

DAMN! That was stupid of me. To think that stone can heal anything. In her case, it wasn’t poisoning or anything. This rotten flesh is just the beginning. If she died, she’ll likely turn into a zombie monster.

I can’t let that happen at all. Time is essential, if I prolong this, she’ll likely go crazy because of pain as well. Damn! If it come to this, I had no choice to go all out!

‘King Glacier Iceberg, Health Stone, Mana Stone, Frost Pinch Release’

All the equipment laid in front of me. I grabbed King Glacier Iceberg and the Frost Pinch.

With all those activation, time seems to stop around me. Of course, time didn’t stop. I just sped up my thought and rush it beyond my capability. I have no experience in surgery, but I know about human body structure. I need to pile up all the information I need in order to make this operation a success.

I need tranquilizer to put her to sleep, but I don’t have that. She might die of pain if I were to continue doing the operation. So at least, I’ll ease her pain. I just need to ease her sense of pain. Possibly, I can my qi on that. All I need is to locate and shut down her nerve system temporary.

The infection is getting bad. Several of her organ might be infected already. I need to antidote to deal with that. Cutting off the rotten flesh, I can leave the regeneration of her flesh on ‘Rejuvenate’. So I need antidote, and precise control to heal the damaged organ.

She lost a lot of blood, but Health Stone can take of that. So I need to do this fast and precise.

I analyze her condition from her body, and then I determined how I should proceed with the procedure. I make snow rose up to cover up her eyes, and then I used ice to lock her body firmly on the ground. I wouldn’t her to shake violently during the procedure.

This world proceed with the concept of game, if I cut her rotten flesh, her HP would like to fall as well. So I need to heal her with ‘Light Heal’ occasionally. However, that would be reawaken the weakened nerve cell and forced them to work again. So I need to calm them down with my qi again. I don’t know how long it will be, but I need to do the cycle until her procedure completed.

This is a race against time, if I run out of qi and her surgery is taking longer. Then she’ll die. And I don’t know whether I can heal her organs or not. And her condition is different from where I’m from. Should I believe in this world’s concept as a game or solely in my medical knowledge?

Rush’s effect is running out as everyone around is getting faster. DAMN! Why am I hesitating at this time?? I have to do it. I have to believe. I can’t let her die!

Rush’s effect ran out, and everything went back to normal. I gathered qi in my fist fast, and then I poured it near her heart. The vital organ I need to protect is the heart. And then I started spreading them everywhere. However, there was a slight resistance. Her magical energy is rejecting my qi. DAMN! I didn’t expect this at all. If I waste my qi here, her chance of survivor will drop. I need her to empty her mana, but how?

I took out the white cross bone and placed it in my hand. It still in count down period which mean I can’t use it to brew a potion, but it’ll accept mana energy, right? I put mana into it. The same message come to me, but the mana I put in didn’t return. Yeah, I can use this.

I give it to her hand, and then I put some of my mana in. Using my mana as a bait, the white bone started sucking more of my mana. This is like you suck water out in an air tight space, and then the water will come pouring out regardless of gravity.

I placed it in her hand, and I can feel the resistance on my qi is lessened. Yosh~, this is just the beginning. I tightly grabbed Frost Pinch, and cut the rotten flesh out. I get the tiny bit of that flesh and ate it.

“Mee~ What are you doing?!”

“Pyon~ White-sama, are you ok? Pyon~”

Like hell it is ok. I feel like puking here. This is more disgusting than I thought. I swallowed it one bit, and then I took a deep breath. I need antidote of the virus that is infesting. So I got no choice, but to eat it.

Normally, it would hour and days for the virus to replicate and cause harm to my body. However, as expected of the world following concept of game. I can feel the intense pain raging in my stomach. Countless message kept popping out nonstop, but I ignore them.

I proceed to cut off the remaining rotten flesh. I have a skill call ‘Blood Antidote’. It was bet whether it work in a situation like this, but I’ll trust the concept behind it. Using my antibody to kill and analyze the virus and bacteria, I can produce the necessary antidote to have complete resistance for that virus or bacteria.

However, it take time for it to produce the necessary antidote. In this world, I only need to endure the negative status until it ran out of time. After that, I’ll have the antidote.

Right now, there’s at least 13 negative status counting down inside me. Can I have the necessary antidote by then to save her?? The counting down time is taking too long.

After I calmed her nerve cell down, I concentrated my qi to weaken the virus inside me as well. This is a waste of qi, but I can’t prolong her surgery any longer.

I started cleaning off the rotten flesh on her wound with careful and precise cutting while enduring the intense pain from my body. This is no joke, I’m getting dizzy.

Since I divided my qi on both myself and her, I need to keep her HP up using ‘Light Heal’ without waking her nerve cell up. This is hard to control. Her HP is decreasing from her own wound, and my cut. And I can only use light heal with the least effect to keep her Nerve cell under control.

I don’t know how many cycle I have repeated healing her, calming her nerve cell, and cutting her. However, I’m getting severe headache, and my concentration is getting off the mark. She screamed many times as well while being blinded fold.

I haven’t noticed, but my HP is decreasing as well. I thought my HP recovery could out best the negative status, but I was wrong. 9 of the 13 status has already gone, I received message saying that I got the antidote for it as well.

Before long, I finished cutting off all of the rotten flesh on her wound and skin. I threw away the Frost Pinch and took a deep breath. And then, I started to gather my mana in one of my hand, and qi in another.

I placed them both on her chest, and then I closed my eyes to concentrate. I need to get rid of the rotten cell in her organs as well. I spread both of mana and qi in her. My qi spread in her body easily and search for the rotten cell. And when I found them, I used my mana to cover them.

‘Mana Freeze’

The rotten part got frozen and shattered in piece. My qi then dissolved them. I repeated this process again and again whenever I found rotten cell inside her. Since it has been too long, most of her cells are infected and it got harder to heal them completely.

Some organs are completely dead. I frost them completely and shattered them while simultaneously use ‘Rejuvenate’ to regenerated the missing organ. I moved on when I confirm that it was working fine.

*Cough*

I coughed out blood when one more status disappeared from me. 3 more status to go, and my HP is already below half. My MP is getting emptied as well. I can at most perform 2 more ‘Mana Freeze’.

Mana Stone in near my, but I can’t let go of my hand to grab it. I can’t lose my concentration as well. When my MP is emptied, I used the same method to absorb the Pure Ancient Ice Mana from within me.

I healed her immediately and then she started screaming as well. I used my remaining qi to calm her nerve. And then I concentrated on her damage liver. I lost control, and a part of it turned frozen. I shatter it completely and started to regenerate it with ‘Rejuvenate’. I took 1/10 of my mana to stack the ‘Rejuvenate’ on her to regenerate her liver and carefully make sure that her cells wouldn’t reject it.

I only got 1 more negative status to go, and my HP is only left with 3%. My HP recovery is pushing my HP up, but I don’t think that I can hold up when that last negative status lash on me like other. If I wait, her new organ and flesh might start to be infested with the virus again.

After I finished healing her liver, I took both of the Health and Mana Stone. Both of my HP and MP is filled, but then it was for naught.

The last status disappeared and I heard the message, but I couldn’t see anything. My vision got blurry and I noticed that my HP plummet to 0 immediately while I have ‘Faint’ status. I fell down, but then I supported myself up.

I shook my head relentlessly to keep myself awake. I grabbed the nearby Frost Pinch, and stabbed my leg.

“ARHH!!”

I screamed in pain, but I was awake. I thought my HP would go negative, but it remained 0. However, many negative status are being piled up. Defying God’s Rule, all of my negative status are being strengthened greatly.

I pulled out the knife, and crawled near her. I cut my hand and placed it on top of her mouth. My blood got into her mouth, and then I used one more ‘Rejuvenate’ to close up her wound. And then everything around me blacked out.
