To begin with, let’s start talking a little bit about this world from what I heard from Shinon-chan.

This kingdom, Athene, is one of the biggest human kingdom on the continent, and sadly it is now one of the 3 remaining cities left. The war had been dragging on for only 5 years, and the human is already at the brink of extinction – Quite ironic.

The problem would be the enemy. The word ‘demon’ is too vague. I have no idea what or who they’re fighting at all. If there’s information about them, that would be helpful. And at the same time, I would want to learn more about this world’s residents such as elf, beast men, mermaid, fairies and many more.

Hohohoho~ I can’t wait.

Anyway, let’s move to this kingdom’s situation. Since the situation is pretty dire and the neighbor country is currently fighting with the demon, King and second Prince had gone to aid the neighbor country’s war. And so, first Princess and third prince stay behind in the kingdom.

There is a strange tradition for royal bloodline in this kingdom. Princes and Princesses are to compete for the right to be the successor. Once they turn 18, they will have to gather ally to side with them. Well to be exact, it’s about gathering political forces and military forces. The more forces they have, the likely they can become the successor. And then in every 3 months, they would have a tournament to test their leadership and charisma.

The Princess Mariona and Prince Phillip has been fighting in this tournament for 2 years. And Princess Mariona has been losing all the tournament, but she hasn’t given up on it yet. Prince Phillip wasn’t able to complete overpower her as well. Since Princess Mariona has more powerful political force, while Prince Philip has more powerful military force.

Since the tournament was in a form of mini size war. Military force play an important role, and that’s why Prince Phillip was able to win every time. Prince Philip has the force of 37 imperial knights, while princess only has 3 imperial knights left with many magicians.

Oh, by the way, imperial knight is a general who control over 1000-2000 soldier. And in this case, they are used like a currency in this tournament. Princess used to have 15 at first, but after losing several times, she was down to the last 3. Prince’s faction grew bigger and bigger as well from winning the tournament, and two more fights, Princess would completely lost the right to fight any longer.

Oh, I found it strange for the second Prince who didn’t join this fight. I tried asking Shinon-chan, and it turned out that Second Prince was a genius amongst genius. He was born with a never seen before class. And he surrendered the right to be the successor. This cause an uproar, but the king didn’t stop the Prince at all. The reason why he did that remain a mystery.

While thinking, I finally come to a room. There’s word written in a language I don’t know, but in my head, I knew that it means library. Strange, is this the influence of the system?

I opened the room and entered. It was really a standard library where column of shelves filled with books are organized in rows. Since it was world with magic, I was expecting a terminal where you can search Books and it appeared magically. So, I was a bit disappointed with this. However, at least there’s large amount of books here, so that I don’t have to go information-hunting.

“You’re here too? Guess you can’t take their training as well huh?”

Suddenly a book speak to me – no, it’s the one who’s behind a wall of book. I was shocked for a second there when suddenly there’s voice coming from books, but I was relieved to see who was talking to me. He was one of my sisters’ friends, the quite guy who’s always tilting his glass observing the situation.

Intrigued by what he said earlier, I asked him with dumbfounded expression.

“Training? Everyone is training?”

“Hard being a left out, huh? Well, not that I’m the one to say anything. There, look”

He pointed to the window, and then I heard shouts from sword practice and explosion from magic practice. Amazing! I really wanted to join them.

Hero-kun practices swing and stances. Does he belong to Kendo club or something? His stance is firm and strong, even his swing are perfect. It’s good

“Good-”

It seems that I blurt that out without restraint. Class_Rep-kun also came to practice with Hero-kun. However, why is he naked? Wait, he’s not entirely naked, he only got his pant on, but why did he have to be naked?

Hero-kun and Class_Rep-kun seem to be talking about something, and suddenly Hero-kun swung his sword at Class_Rep-kun bare chest without restraint. Well, hero existence is already an absurd existence.

“His class is ‘Holy Crusader’”

Racking my head to think why or how the sword bounce off, the guy next to me answer.

“They belong in defensive class with healing capability. And ‘Holy Crusader’ is a specialty where their defense are absolute and regenerating speed is considered a monster.”

“So basically, he’s a tanker.”

“To be exact, he’s a masochist.”

This guy rebut made me speechless, and his word are pretty harsh too. Just so that he’s a tanker, that’s doesn’t mean he’s a masochist, you know! I wanted to rebut him and guard Class_Rep-kun, but I refrain from doing that since Class_Rep-kun is smiling despite taking blows from Hero-kun. This guy, could he possibly be- no! no! no! I don’t have to think about that. Oh yeah, I don’t know this guy name yet.

“I’m Shu. I believe that I don’t know your name yet.”

“It’s Yashi”

Again with his short answer and tilting his glasses. This guy, he’s not provoking me, right?

*Boom*

Suddenly, we heard a loud booming sound, we turned and we saw Ojou-chan grasping for her breath holding a wooden staff with a red round orb – or should I say magic stone? Since this is magic world, that had to be one, right? As I believe, her class is Mage. So she’s trying hard, despite being a tsundere.

“That girl’s intelligence is about 900 and she has affinity with most of the basic element.”

HO~ this guy know a lot.

“Is that what’s shown in the core affinity? But what does that mean anyway?”

“See that staff that she is holding, at the top, there’s a red orb. That’s the magic stone-the second rate of magic core. There’re 3 types of magic core classified so far. Magic dust, Magic stone, and Magic crystal. The purest and strongest one is the Magic crystal. Magic core are used as catalyzed for magic. That Red one has core affinity for fire, if you don’t have affinity with fire, you’ll need that to use fire based magic.”

“Which mean if you have fire affinity, you wouldn’t need a staff to cast fire-based magic, right? If Ojou-chan already has affinity with it, does she even need to use that staff?”

“Well, let’s just think that using a staff with same affinity as your own core boost your attack. And the way she’s using it is like a child who found a new toy to play and show off.”

Don’t go ‘let’s just think that’! Do you even have anything to back that up? And the last sentence is true though, Ojou-chan is pretty curious about magic. So get to use it is pretty exciting for her.

This guy even gestured as if saying ‘see-’.

And then we saw Ojou-chan cheering and jumping in happiness. Did she really happy about being able to use that?

“It seems that she is able to gain a new skill.”

Yashi said as he looked uninterested. Seeing her gaining a new skill like that, I wanted some confirmation from him.

“Is this system where you repeatedly doing something and eventually got a skill form it?”

“Yeah, and not only that, you can also acquire it from book.”

“Skill book?”

“Not necessary. Theoretical book is also fine. But the important thing is your understand and imagination.”

“How long do I have to repeat doing the same action to acquire a skill?”

I asked him for more detail information. I ate poison meat from before, and I immediately got a passive skill from it. However seeing Ojou-chan who was grasping for her breath. She seemed to have been doing it for quite some times.

“There’s not clear answer for it. One might made it in first try, and other might not even be able to make it at all. Some other factors and conditions have to be met. However, the only golden rule is the understanding and imagination. If you have strong foundation on that, you’ll might even succeed in your first try.”

This guy know a lot! He’s just like this world Wikipedia! Ok, let’s call him Wiki-kun.

So that might explain my case, but I don’t think that I have strong understand of that posion. Well, I do know from tasting it since it felt like it was made from poison gland of volcanic Alvid Toad combined with dew from purplish Ranskera flower –Wait!!! Where the hell did I get that name form?! That’s strange, I don’t remember anything of those thing, but I seems to have clear image of what they look like.

Did I get those information from game I play or something?! However, this is too strange! The more I think of it, the more vivid it became. I even know how to deal with them so that I could cultivate their resource without killing them. Gaming didn’t have this much information, right?! I don’t remember playing game with such detail. And I’m sure that I won’t remember their name since names is the only thing I can’t remember well. Take my 4 years of study for example, I don’t remember anyone’s name. The heck! I don’t even remember what they look like.

This is too strange, and I have a bad feeling about this. Suddenly to have information poured in to your mind like this, there’s high chance of me being mind-controlled and fed false information. If that’s the case, then it would be too scary.

Calm down and analyze this situation. First, I don’t remember all of these information. Second, the names and pictures of those beast are certainly not from my world. Third, those information poured in me when I thought about the poison. However, I can’t link this clue to other. Fourth, my passive skill is also related to that poison. If the information is related to the skill I acquire, then maybe it is related to this world system. If that’s true, then-

I looked at my own stats again, and then I was brimming with happiness!

Before I knew it, Wiki-kun stood behind of me and he looked through my status. Even though, his word showed that he was surprise, but his flat tone and expression isn’t and I felt as if those expression was provoking my fist. Calm down, let’s focus on gathering more information.

“Arh~ I think so, and every hero got one or two of those unreadable slots.”

“I see, but wait! If they are unreadable, then how can you know that they are unique?”

“Duh! I deduct it from your unique stats! So how do we need to unlock those unreadable stats?”

Wiki-kun asked with an arrogant attitude. My face cramped a little, but then I calmed myself down.

“Sorry, but I can’t help it too, but I think it is related to your class. Maybe I unlocked it by accident-”

He said while tilting his glasses. Seriously, this guy, did he think that would make him look cool or something?

“Who’s you calling Siscon?!”

“I could say the same thing, who’s the hell Wiki-kun?!”

“It’s you! Enough with that! You seems to know more about other heroes. So can you tell about them such as their class or something?”

“Telling you is fine, but what do I get from it? As you see, I’m pretty busy checking information of this world. If you want information, exchange it with information.”

This guy is frank, but it wasn’t unreasonable. Wiki-kun is quite smart. Rather than giving people information they want, he exchanges it for some other information. It just likes how our world works.

“Fine, then let’s begin. Which side that you haven’t read yet Wiki-kun?”

“Don’t call me Wiki-kun, Siscon. From the column to the right, they are yours.”

I walked to the column which has word hanging ‘History’. It was in another language, yet I was able to understand it in my mind.

“Hey, Wiki-kun. These words, do you know what language they are in? I can’t read, but I can understand them. Is it the same with you?”

“Our mind translate them directly. It’s because of the skill ‘Human Language acquisition’, and all heroes all have that skill.”

“Is that the same with writing? Can you write in this language?”

I asked him, but then he paused for a second and continued.

“Why don’t you try it out?”

If you don’t know, you don’t have to act cool! Without dropping his coolness, he presented me paper and a pen. This world seems to be undeveloped yet since the pen they used were the feather with pointy end. I grabbed it and started writing down. Unfortunately, Japanese didn’t turn into this world’s language.

I didn’t ask him anymore, and searched for Literature column. It seems that the skill was only one way. So I need to understand more about this world language. Of course, the skill ease the communication so I don’t need to learn.

However! It’s all for my unique stat! Gaining knowledge would grant me various bonus. It’s like learning while getting paid. Who wouldn’t want that?

After searching I found a book that I need. A book for children to learn the language. It was a thin book with 30 pages or so. I check for other books related to it. Sadly, I couldn’t find grammar book of this world. There are a lot of fairy tales, though. I took all of them. There are about 50 books or so, and I was surprise that I can hold them all. It seems my 600 strength wasn’t a joke.

I put them on the table and I started reading them. Wiki-kun has already continued reading his books. He seems want to say something at first, but then he stopped.

I finished the children book in few minutes and then I started reading the novels or fairy tales. Some fairy tales are large and thick, I thought they were filled with picture, but they were all words. If I had to read this, then it would take too much time. I sighed at my own method, and then I thought of something.

It was a skill that I cultivate when I was back in my world. In order to record and capture every moments of my sisters, I trained my mind and eyes to become that of a camera which captured slow motion with high quality picture of my sisters. Just so you know, I didn’t use this to peek my sister or something, ok?! I did use it to compare and record my sisters’ growth, but it was for pure purpose. Onii-chan is pure!!!

As I thought about that, various happy memories floated in my mind. Onii-chan is happy! After getting drunk in my own happy memory, it was time to turn back to my task at hand.

Without waiting, I scanned the whole book vividly in my mind. About 2000 pages book was scanned within 15 minutes. With the 2000 pictures of every pages in my mind, I focus my mind and activate the new skill I learnt.

Suddenly, within the picture of my mind, lines, marks, and notes are being made almost in fraction in a second. Absorbed by my mind, I understand the whole book completely

“Read it.”

“hmm- ‘Wiki-kun is slow poke at reading book. I challenge you to a book-reading contest. Whoever got the most skills from this library shall be the winner and loser shall accepted the nickname and one condition from the winner.’”

“Do you dare or no dare?!”

“Bring it on, You siscon! I let you let know that my speed is 90 pages per 5 minutes. If you lose, you bear the name-no the title Siscon, and I have you work as my slave for the winning condition.”

Haha~ Should I compliment him? Hohohoho~

“Fine, if I win, I’ll keep calling you Wiki-kun. And I’ll give you something for the winning condition.”

I feel bad since this system can be abused easily. For example, if I were to set condition for Wiki-kun to kill himself. Duel Challenge : Book Reading Contest START!

Wiki-kun and I quickly went into the magic column where books of magic are placed. He grabbed and throw the book to his desk. I grabbed a row of books and put them on my shoulder. My 600 strength isn’t just for show, I’ll show freaky thing you can do with it. I place them on my desk, and there are 120 books on my desk. Wiki-kun has the same amount of books and then we looks at each other.

“Books are shareable?”

“Of course, if you think you have time to read.”

I asked him and he answered with arrogant. Hahahaha, this guy actually believe in his own ability. If he has said no, I wouldn’t be able to read his books, and that would limit my number of skills. However, he’s too arrogant for that.

“Wiki-kun. Sorry, but you’ll lose”

“Huh?! What are you-”

I then quickly use my acupuncture technique on myself. Three points, I struck on my chest, and then blood suddenly flow up to my brain. I shut down other unnecessary organ for the moment to boost my brain capacity. I could also set my limiter off, but that would be harmful for my body.

I took a deep breath, and I can feel blood flowing more freely and easily to my brain. I takes 5 books from the mountain of books near me and placed on the table. With a swung of my hand, the book flipped open as if it was hit by a gust of wind. 3 more swings, and the books reached the end.

“YOU! What are you trying to do?!”

Wiki-kun asked me after watching what I was doing. I only smirk at him and then slowly activated my skill.

“Analysis”

Suddenly, surge of blue light surround me and was absorbed by my brain.

“DAMN! I won’t lose to you!!”

Wiki-kun also activate his skill from our world – Triple reading skill. And then with vigor, he also show his capability in reading. If he was in our world, he would have won championship, but right now he’s in a different world. However, the more importantly thing is, he’s challenging me – worst choice.

Wiki-kun collapsed after let his dry voice escaped. I was still scanning my books while sitting cross-legged. I wasn’t reading 5 at the times now, I was reading one leisurely now. Why? Because I completed 7 columns of books already. Wiki-kun collapsed after his 647th books, and I have to say. He is quite good.

White particle parted from my hand and seeped into his body. It was a basic healing magic I just learnt. Suddenly, his complexion got better, and then he got back up. He’s looking at the air as if looking at something. Is he checking his status? Why can’t I see? Must it have to be peeped from behind?

“Damn! My title really change. So what’s the thing you want me to do? You got one more condition, right? Hurry up and say it, cheater.”

This guy, even after losing, he is still arrogant. What should I do with him? Should I return the favor by making him a slave? No – that would be too much. What would my sisters think if I suddenly enslave her friends? And what would this kingdom think that I suddenly enslave a hero? Troublesome thing would happen and I didn’t even want to think about it.

“Oi! What you thinking so long? Just hurry up and set it, cheater!”

My face cramped. This guy is really pissing me off. Ok, I just thought something. Let’s make sure this guy will never be arrogant again.

I called it and then I imagined the thing I want to give him. OK the system accept it as well. Hohohoho~ this is going to be fun.

Suddenly, this siscon said to me. Huh? Unique stat? I thought it was a punishment, but he’s going to give me a unique stat? Is he an idiot or something?

Well, I was surprise at his way of reading books. However, that was a skill. And I know it. He lured me into his trap and trick me with his skill. This bastard is a crafty one. I won’t fall for his trap again. I’ll endure the punishment and polish my skill. And then someday I’ll have my revenge!

If the stats has 100 or higher, each day, User will be affected by random status.

This guy was about to leave. I tried to chase him, but then I found that my feet was inflicted with ‘Numb’. Damn, why can’t I move now? Unable to reach him, I called out to him.

“Who are you? What are you?”

“Me? I’m Onii-chan!”

And then he left while laughing. Curse him! I'll get him for this!!
