The One Moon Chapter 36
At around 10, Lichen got off work.
Han and Duri came up to him and they all started walking towards the dorm building. Duri was walking in the holding both Lichen’s and Han’s hands. He was waving it back and forth.
“Our dorm is room 4, it isn’t too far from yours.”
“Oh, cool. We’re like on the opposite side though, haha”
“Nah, Though we live on A-side, getting to B side takes about 5 minutes.”
“Ohh, I see, I see.”
“Haha, I just remembered. You are quite handsome yourself Dalhan. Just gain a little more weight, you’d look very handsome.”
“Haha, maybe so. Though, I’d say your looks are dashing and cool.”
“Thanks, I’m embarrassed at the compliment.”
Duri looked up at the two.
“Hmmmmm, we all look quite similar. I’d say we’re all handsome. Of course, dal Hyung is the most!”
“Yes, sure. !!”
The 2 older laughed at and played along with Duri.
They arrived at A-side, Han and Duri said their goodbyes.
“See you at the filming”
“Bye, Nice guy Lichen hyung. See you next time.” Duri said waving furiously.
“Bye you guys, see you guys later!” And he left
Han unlocked the door and went inside.
The other members were already in their rooms.
Moonhan went inside their room and grabbed towels to take a shower. He helped wash up Duri a little and Duri managed to clean up after himself and went to bed. Moonhan took a shower in cold water. Showering in hot water was always a little uncomfortable for him and cold water helped him sleep better. When he finished, he looked at himself in the mirror. At the scar that ran from his chest to his private area. It was another his dad gave to him. He had another bruise on his shoulders from being pushed down all the time when he was in the orphanage. Few small ones on his arms but they were basically healed. 3 on his back. One was a scar shaped in an X. One was a scar that was written. It said DALDIe. The ‘e’ was barely noticeable because it wasn’t deep enough in his skin and healed. The biggest on his back were burn marks from hot water. Because it was never taken care of, the scar looked ugly and horrendous. His other wounds were bruises and such that only hurt from time to time and many were healed. The ones on his soles were bound to stay there forever in Han’s opinion. Every time Han would do something that his father didn’t like. His father would constantly say “I love you” through his soles with a knife to make him listen.

As Moonhan was thinking about his memories and experiences, his soles and scars started burning. He slightly remembered the experiences and it always hurt him. The only scars that is not fully healed are the burn marks and extra bruises but the wounds with the most memories tend to haunt him. Especially, the DALDIe and I love you scars. He stayed in the restroom for quite a while.
Haru needed to use the restroom. Again, Han forgot to lock the doors. Haru opened up and saw Han laying on the wall naked sweating with teary eyes.
“Han! Are you okay? Should I call the ambulance? Han!”
Haru was quite loud and made everyone come to the scene. Haru covered Han up and ran out for his phone. Eric saw Moonhan’s situation and went up to him.
“Hey, are you okay? Do you need a hospital? Can you talk?”
At the questions, Moonhan could only nod. Moonhan didn’t realize it because every time he went through the pain and had a small attack. He never realized he didn’t have the energy to talk because he went through the pain alone a lot and never made the energy to call for help. He knew it would go away after a few hours but he couldn’t tell the members that. He was too tired.
The other members were equally as worried all believing he should go to the hospital. Han didn’t want to. He gathered up his energy and pulled on Eric’s hand and whispered to him.
“N…o…no.”
Eric and the others saw this.
“He said “no” It seems he doesn’t want to go to the doctors.”
Junghwan spoke up. “Moonhan, please go, we’re worried. We don’t want anything worse to happen, okay?”
Siwoo spoke. “Yeah, at least go for us. It’s what we want.”

“...” Moonhan didn’t say anything until he moved his head a little and saw Duri crying and trying to hold it in.
He managed to make a smile and say a few words before passing out. He’s never used a lot of energy to talk when he’s like this so he was very tired.
“I am okay…” he said sounding exhausted.
Duri started crying louder and ran up to him and hugged his arm.
The other members were teary-eyed. Haru came back with a robe and put it on him. “Let’s move him out, the ambulance will be here soon,” he said
Eric and Haru helped Moonhan stand and moved him to the sofa while waiting for the ambulance. Because the ambulance was noisy and Haru and Duri were loud. Other groups from nearby dorms and some even though not nearby woke up from the noisy emergency car. Curious as to who’s sick in the trainee dorms. Some members came out to check what was up. J boys who realized the situation earlier were worried. Minato started tearing up and hoped that Han was okay. Lichen who saw Moonhan on the stretcher wondered what happened and came up the members also hoped he was okay. As he walked up, he saw Duri. Duri ran up to him and hugged his leg.
Lichen could comfort the boy by hugging him back.
“He’ll be okay, he’ll be okay.”
The other members were worried and curious to know how Duri knew Lichen. They didn’t bother asking how as they were busy being worried.
Lichen carried Duri. Duri fell asleep crying. He asked where his room was and Siwoo showed him the directions. He laid him on the bed and covered him with a blanket.
“What happened?” He asked Siwoo who was nearby.
“...”
“It seems he was going through some kind of panic attack.”
“I see…” Lichen didn’t bother asking more. He knew Moonhan lived a harsh life. He also knew that he was an orphan since Duri told him. Though, he never mentioned it to Han. Knowing or not knowing wouldn’t change how he thought about him anyway. Lichen was a very open guy and didn’t care about one’s past to be friends or to get close to one another.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
