《Kirishima X Reader Beauty and the Beast AU》Chapter one Y/N

I made my way to the library, skipping every now and then, humming softly to myself. It was a bright sunny day, birds were chirping, a slight breeze came and went, it was the perfect spring day, nothing could mess up today. It was a great day to get some new books. Books, I love them. They’re one of the best things that exist. “Bonjour!” I exclaim, passing the other villagers.
“There goes Y/N, she sure is a special one!” Villager A exclaims.
“Yea special because she reads so much, I don’t know anyone who reads as much as she does!” Villager B points out. It was true, no one read as much as I did. Although I hated being called special, it made me feel like I was being made fun of. I didn’t say anything, as I continued to skip along. I got to the library, walking inside, waving at the librarian. Honestly, even the librarian didn’t read as much as me, which I found funny. I went and grabbed the first book in the divergent series, smiling. It was honestly one of my favorite books. The cover was rough and hard from being read so much, and the pages smelled of...of old yellow paper, which oddly enough was one of my favorite smells.
I walked over to the librarian and handed him the book so he could check it out. Normally, I would have a book to turn in, but I was running late last time, and unfortunately didn’t have time to get a new book. He checks it out, handing it back to me, telling me it’s due in two weeks. I nodded my thanks, skipping out of the library and back home, when I ran into someone, falling down on my ass. “S-sorry,” I mutter, slowly standing up.
He growls, and smirks, “Oh Y/N, sorry didn’t see you there.” He says, grabbing my wrist tightly.
I wince and glare at him, “let me go bitch!” I spat.

“Let me think about it...um no.” He grins, pulling me closer, causing me to crash into his chest. He stunk of cigarettes and beer. I grimaced at the smell, trying to get out of his grasp, but he activated his quirk, blue flames igniting from his palm, “Uh uh uh.” He warns, and I sigh.
“What do you want?” I grumble, trying to bide time, as I get ready to use my quirk. Before I could activate it though, he slapped a bracelet on me, canceling out my quirk. “Damnit,” I mutter.
He begins to pull me somewhere, “I love you so much Y/N, you’re mine now!” He grins, a sickening grin, his voice rough and burnt.
“Like hell I am!” I growl, shuddering at the thought of being with him. He just rolls his eyes, smirking as he pulls me, no one having the courage to help me through since everyone’s scared of him. We get to his house, and he unlocks the door, dragging me inside, locking it back. He finally lets go of my wrist, turning to face me, crossing his arms, smirking. “W-what do you want?” I ask, shaking slightly.
“I want you to be mine.” He smirks, pulling me into a kiss. I growled, pushing him away from me, running out the door, taking the cuff off, as I ran back to my house. On my way to my house, I hear growling coming from the forest. I turn and blink, running towards the scream. My quirk is a silent scream. I can scream without making a sound, and it turns into a sonic wave, depending on how loud I am. It also allows me to hear from really far away, ergo how I heard the growl. If I use it too much, I lose my hearing and my voice, and I sometimes faint. I got to the edge of the forest, and paused, knowing my parents would be mad at me since I don’t have full control of my quirk, but my curiosity got the better of me. I started running again, listening for more growls as I looked around. While I was looking, I suddenly felt dizzy, and my vision went black.

When I awoke, I looked around to see I was in a bed, a big bed at that. The room had pretty lavender silky curtains, a brown dresser with flowers painted on it, and a huge closet that looked like a walk-in closet. I climbed out of the bed, not sure where I was, and opened the door, peeking into the hallway. The hallway was clear so I stepped out, searching for an exit when I heard someone speak.
“The prince won’t be happy if you leave, but if you must leave, the exit is straight down this hallway and to the right.”
I jump, I could have sworn no one was in the hallway, ”w-who’s there?”
“Why it’s me...oh wait, I forgot you probably can’t see me. Let me fix that.” The voice says, and before I know it, a candlestick is in front of me. “Hi, I’m Denki Karminari!”
“Uh….” I trail off, thinking I must be crazy. There are some weird quirks out there, but I’ve never heard of a candlestick having a quirk. “Yea, I’m just gonna go…” I mutter, walking off. Hopefully, my brother will erase this memory out of my head for me with his brainwashing quirk. I quickly ran down the hallway and to the right like the candlestick told me, although, I had no idea why I was even listening to a talking candlestick. To my dismay, there was the exit, I hurriedly went towards it, before the prince or whoever found me, but I was too late for someone or something...grabbed hold of my wrist.
“Where are you going?” The voice asks, it was a rough and husky-sounding voice as well. I turned to face him and gulped, he had crimson-colored eyes, sharp teeth, paws, and fur?
“Um, I uh...back home?” I stutter out, blinking.
The beast sighs, running a hand through his fur like you would if you had hair, “there’s a storm coming, that’s why I brought you here, at least stay until it passes?” He asks, in a pleading voice which surprised me since I didn’t think he would even give me a choice. First, there’s a talking candlestick, then a beast that’s being nice? It was too much for me to take in, tears fell down my face as it became hard to breathe, my legs trembling, slightly. “Hey, it’s ok, you don’t have to be scared.” The beast whispers, crouching down to my level, putting his paws on my shoulders, “I’m not going to hurt you, that wouldn’t be very manly of me.
I blinked, not able to process what he was saying. I was having an anxiety attack, I couldn’t focus on anything, I just sat there, in the middle of the floor, bringing my knees to my chest, rocking back and forth, trying to calm myself down. I hear him sigh, as he picks me up bridal style, “momo can you come and help me calm her down? She might listen to you.”
“You idiot, she isn’t gonna listen to any of us because she’s scared of us.” Another voice says, this one sweet and but rough at the same time?
“Well I have to try something, I don’t want her in the forest during the storm, it’s dangerous!" The beast exclaims.
“Since when do you care about helping extras? You’ve hated everyone ever since you got turned into that form.” The sweet yet rough voice exclaims.
“I don’t know!” The beast growls, and that’s the last thing I hear before letting sleep claim me, on the beast’s soft, warm, furry chest.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
