《The horseman, death》Chapter 10

Okaaay so where should I start? I know let's say I fucked up. Currently i'm sitting in front of a pile of dust that was once cristal. Next to me was a large white horse with glowing silver eyes and bone-like armor on it's flesh. But the bones were in places that wouldn't inconvenience it. Now how should I start?
Let's go back to after leaving the horse. We ran for a while until sometime in the middle of the night cristal spoke up.
Cristal: Hey death, can we stop?
Me: Huh? Why? Were making such great time.
Cristal: Well i'm getting sleepy and I can't sleep hopping up and down on your back.
I thought about it a little weighing the pros and cons and came to a conclusion.
Me: Fine but were leaving early in the morning.
Cristal: That's good enough.
I found a spot in the forest that allows one to make a fire without the trees nearby to catch fire. I set cristal down and went out to hunt for food. Thanks to my ability to see souls I quickly found what looked like a deer and killed it with a orb. I thought about using the sword but the edible parts might dissolve before I get back to camp. I then harvested the edible parts with a knife, courtesy of dead bandits, and placed them in a bag and returned. When I got back cristal was already asleep. I figured I shouldn't wake her so I quickly cooked the meat and ate it leaving none for her. I then got up and went a few kilometers away to practice my magic. I took off the cloak and immediately the trees died around me. Though I almost immediately pulled in the area of effect.
After all I did more than just run this past week. I've been practicing my magic when cristal goes to sleep. The tiny orb project was kind of fighting me so I switched to the area effect around me. It took me a couple of days but I was able to reel in the magic that was leaving my body and keep it inside. The problem though now with this is I still need to be conscious of doing it. Which means I can't run, look at possible dangers ahead, focus on the tugging feeling on my chest while also listening to cristals lecture's to learn more about this world and keep my magic from leaking out.

Anyway I am currently working on the tiny orb project and something miraculous happened. I split a orb in 2. Now you may wonder how this is so great or why don't I just take a orb and shrink it. Well first off i don't know how to shrink one and I don't know what would happen if I fail. For all I know a explosion the size of a hydrogen bomb could go off. I really don't want that. So I figured split a orb in half then just keep splitting it until it's the size of a fly would be much safer.
However splitting one orb was very difficult and only now did I successfully do it. Anyway after this accomplishment I headed back to camp. But a little surprise was waiting for me. It was the little white horse we helped. I spaced out a little at seeing the little guy then I immediately began to wonder how he found us so easily and quickly. Only a slight grumbling sound brought me back to attention and I found the sound originated from the horse's stomach. Thinking it was hungry I grabbed the last apple we had and held it out in front of him.
But instead of eating the apple he took a small bite out of the side of my hand. I immediately jumped back and prepared to kill this thing when something unexpected happened. A dirty gray like light shot out of the horse immediately surrounding it. I had to shield my eyes from the sudden brightness. Then after a few seconds the light died down and standing where the little horse which was no older than a few years was a fully matured adult horse that had some serious muscle and bone armor on. However the most significant change was the air surrounding it.

It was heavy and menacing. It screamed DON'T FUCK WITH THIS ANIMAL. Cristal awoke because of this pressure and when she saw the horse she screamed and shot a beam out of probably reflex. However when the beam connected with the horse it looked pissed beyond reason and looked at her. It's eye's glowed and next thing I know cristal is aging rapidly. First a young adult, than 50 year old lady, than a elderly, then a corpse, then a skeleton, and finally dust.
I was analyzing the situation. There was the possible apocalypse, the hit marks in the book, plague, and finally this horse and the future. I began thinking I could continue towards plague but then what? My guide is dead and I doubt plague knows where places are in this world. At least not yet. It could take month's to get to General Lance Bearshriek and it would be to late. There was the chance plague found a town. But the chance she destroyed it was higher. The other 2 were an option but war is probably fighting and hunger is probably indulging his desires.
The horse seemed to calm down and was looking at me. It showed none of the hostility it had earlier so I had some breathing room.
Me: Guess this is the only option.
I took out the book of death and wrote

The Edge of Endless
Due to some unforseen and significant life events, this story will be on hiatus for a time. Reborn into a strange but familiar world, Alex makes it his mission to uncover the mysteries of governments, gods, and the arcane realm known only (and inaccurately) as the Unending Depths. Slowly but surely, he grows in ability and meets new and interesting people. tEoE is an epic fantasy LitRPG with a focus on plot, writing, and hopefully original twists on the standard formula of 'MC picks cool class, levels up'. Give it a read if any of the following appeals to you: > 3000-5000 words per chapter, chapters released at least once per week, usually several times. Expect good grammar. > Story focus on illusions, secrets, and traps (along with the usual combat and character stuff). > Progression fantasy, but one where progress is meant to feel earned, moderately paced, and reasonable. Some advantages, but not big, unfair ones. > If a random reader can work out that putting a big rock in a bag of holding, lifting it, and then dropping the rock is free energy, then so could an adventurer who's owned a bag of holding for twenty years. Side characters have brains too. > Blue boxes! Levels! [Classes]! [Skills]! Loot! > No uncomfortable sexist undertones. Ambivalent about including relationships. Definitely no harems. There are a number of arcs planned and this will be ongoing for some time. I am very appreciative of the kind reviews and comments left so far.
