《The horseman, death》Chapter 4

I don't quite understand what has happened. The woman called out to her Father. Was she referring to me or was something going on in her head?
Me: Excuse me?
Woman: Father...Don't go...please.
She was looking at me when she said this. She thinks i'm her father.
Me: I'm sorry but i'm not your father.
I said this with a voice of indifference since I really feel nothing about her. I don't pity her or find her attractive.
Woman: What are you talking about father?
Me: I'm sorry to say this but your father is dead.
Woman: No NO NONONONO AHHHHHHH
Suddenly she starts screaming and she's enveloped by light. I can immediately sense danger coming from her. I think I seriously messed up. But I felt that she posed no serious threat but that still doesn't mean something bad won't happen. The light slowly turned into a dark purple and gave off a ominous feeling. Then she raised her hand to me and fired off a beam of light. I tried dodging but the beam was to fast for me and hit my left side. I'm used to pain after all I have been stabbed, burned, cut up, had acid poured on me, shot, squashed, buried, drowned, and blown up by explosions ranging from firecrackers to nukes.
So when i'm harmed it feels like a simple scratch but when that beam hit me I felt like I was back when I just got my regenerative abilities and forced to stay awake during surgeries. If people either normal or abnormal got hit by this the pain alone would kill them and if they somehow survived they would go insane. The force knocked me back a little but I soon got up and checked the damage. When I looked where I was hit there was no damage to my body. I knew it had to be magic but I didn't know what the heck kin of magic she used. I don't even know if what she did was supposed to do what it did.
Me: My ignorance of this world is a serious problem. I really need to learn how things work here.
After saying this and confirming that nothing was wrong with my body and clothes I looked back towards the girl only to find her in her empty state again. I need to quickly solve this problem or else I may need to babysit her for a long time. Many guy's would probably use this situation to their advantage to score but I only see problems with this.
Me: I need to prepare for when she wakes up again.

So I left the house and began thinking about how to solve this problem. The Woman probably imprinted on me like how animals do that to the first creature they see when their born. So I wondered why she imprinted on me and began to think about the week I spent with her. All I did was simply take the food that was still edible from the other houses. I had to drag her just so she could go some where in the house. I also helped with the souls that died and even sent some knights to the afterlife. That's when it hit me.
Yesterday while I was dragging the woman to what I assumed to be her bedroom 5 knights suddenly busted in. I had to kill them right in front of the woman. My best guess is that since I took care of her and protected her like a father would do her mind decided to use me as her replacement father.
Me: The mind is a mysterious thing.
When I stepped outside I went to a pile of armor I put on the side of the house. Of course it was the armor the knights wore but I couldn't get rid of them so easily so I just piled them together. I began to put the armor on. It covered my chest, legs, arms, and a helmet for my head. I grabbed a sword and headed back for the door. What I had in mind was a serious gamble that could result with her either snapping out of it or cause her to go completely insane. But I found no weapon that seemed powerful and I can't stay here much longer so I had to risk it. I stood before the closed door and looked through the window on the door.
I was looking at the Woman that was on the floor and was wondering if she would snap out of it soon. What I had planned needed me to take action as soon as she comes back to reality. So an hour passed with me standing outside in armor watching a woman through a window. I must look like some freaky stalker. Then she came to and sat up. After seeing this I got ready and got to work. I smashed open the door ripping it off it's hinges. She turned and looked at me. The helmet covered my face so she didn't recognize me. Fear was immediately seen on her face as she looked at me.
Woman: No... stop... please.
I approached her releasing killing intent. It seemed to have further caused her to back down. Then I took out the sword and approached. She kept trembling and saying stop. When I got close to her I grabbed her hair. Then she summoned the purple light. I raised the sword ready to strike her down but the beam shot out. Like before it hit me but it got me right in my chest. The pain re-appeared like before and again I was sent back a little. The first part of my plan was to help her deal with the trauma that those guys gave her. So I basically had her conquer her fear's. Of course I didn't think she would do it at first but once I came close to killing her the part of the brain that demanded to survive would kick in.

Since I knew she had some serious power I knew she would use it to survive. Now was 1 of 2 crucial moments. Seeing if she can handle killing someone. As I was lying there on the ground I saw my helmet a few feet away.
Woman: Huff...Huff
She seemed exhausted but otherwise okay. Then she stood up and looked towards me.
Woman: Gasp!
The next part was to get her to come to terms with the fact her father's dead. Since her mind thinks i'm her father I needed to die. This was the only way I could think of at the time. So I hoped it worked.
Woman: FATHERRRRR!
This was the second crucial moment. The chances she goes crazy are higher than last time so I hoped it worked. She began to cry and fell to her knees. She continued to cry until she fell asleep which was half a hour later. I got up and used my ability to see her brains activity. Thanks to seeing countless brain activity I can tell when something is not right. I looked at her brain and found it was normal again. Their was a slight problem with the part of her brain that houses ones feelings but considering what happened that was normal. I took off the armor to reveal the robe underneath and picked her up to bring her to her room.
For the next 6 hours she slept in her bed and I sat next to her in a chair to make sure her brain activity remained normal. If it changed then I failed and I would probably have to kill her. I just sat there waiting until finally her eye's shot open and she sat up really quick. She looked around with a confused look and spotted me.
Woman: Who are you?
I immediately thought SUCCESS. If I could feel I would probably be happy.
Me: I am simply a traveler who was simply passing by and then found you.
I then said that I found her 9 hours ago passed out. It looked like she remembered what happened and began to cry. I left letting her grieve and went to the kitchen to make something to eat. She didn't eat much for a week so she will be starving. I cooked some meat on a skillet over a fire and added some spices. Soon the smell went throughout the house and not long after the woman came out. I knew the hunger would win and when the meat was done I gave it all to her since I wasn't hungry. She ate like a wild beast and used her hands while seemingly swallowing without chewing.
Woman: So who are you?
She asked after finishing off the last of the meat.
Me: You can just call me Kinslayer.
She seemed frightened at first but soon looked annoyed.
Woman: Fine... if you won't tell me then I won't tell you my name.
Me: Okay.
Was all I said since I don't see a reason to know her name.
Me: anyway you wouldn't happen to know where a weapon in this town would be would you?
She froze.
Woman: W-what kind of weapon.
Me: Something that makes learning magic easier.
She soon became hostile.
Woman: How do you know about it?
Me: It doesn't matter how I know about it as long as I get it.
She then stands up real quick and raps her hand in the light and launched it at me. Unlike before it was considerably slower. So I easily dodged it and appeared in front of her and grabbed her neck.
Me: I wouldn't advise that or else you will join the other people of your village in the afterlife.
She began shaking after I said this and then I let her go. She fell to the ground coughing. Then I made her take me to the weapon. She led me to a secret door in the floor that led to a basement under the house. Weird how I never thought of that and kind of sad. The basement wasn't that big only a single room with a pedestal in the middle. On the pedestal was a smell box. The woman went over and picked it up.
Woman: Here is your weapon.
She said with a little anger in her voice. I took the box and opened it. Inside I found a silver ring with a black crystal on it.
Me: What is this?

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
