《The horseman, death》Chapter 3

Currently I have a girl at my back begging me to help her while I try and figure out how she's still alive. Maybe I can change a person's fate was all I could think up. But still will I get in trouble for giving those guy's premature deaths and Vicki a prolonged life.

Vicki: I can reward you.

Hearing this I broke out of thought, turned and looked at her.

Me: What kind of reward?

Vicki: How about me?

She said it seductively but it had zero effect on me. She must have known this tactic failed because before I conjured up a gray ball to fix my wrong she said.

Vicki: Or a very powerful weapon.

Hearing this I immediately stopped and began to think of her offer. At the facility they taught us that we should not only focus on one way to kill someone but to expand our arsenal to anything that can be used as a weapon. That way there will be more open roads to victory.

Me: I'll take the weapon.

She seemed happy after I said this and started to lead me to her village. She filled me in on the events that took place before she met me. Her village was filled with nothing but scholars that study magic. They focus on how to use it to it's full potential and hopefully discover new kinds of magic that is unknown. She explained how everyone can use magic but only a few can use it in combat. Their most recent study is how to get rid of this limiter on people so everyone can use any magic they want instead of the weaker one's that they are forced to use.

She said that researching this is also illegal ever since the church of some god said so. So her village researched in quite not letting any outsiders know what they were doing. However she suspects someone ratted them out because those knights were wearing the emblem of the church when they found her this afternoon in the forest while she was getting fruit.

Me: What about this weapon you said you'd give me?

Vicki: OH YEAH! The weapon i'm talking about was a prototype that is the fruits of our labor.

She began to say it helps one learn magic faster no matter what type of magic it is. Everyone has a type of magic that they are most in-tuned to and that makes it easier to learn this type of magic. Like if what you excelled at was light magic than things like fire, earth and water magic would be a little harder to learn. However if you tried to learn the exact opposite of your familiar magic like dark magic than it would be one of the most difficult things to learn. But the prototype makes it so that you could learn each magic type at the same pace.

I haven't told Vicki this but a lot of people have been dying lately and showing up in front of me. They were also wearing similar clothes to hers so I suspect them to be from her village. It doesn't seem like she can see them but in her endless talking I heard how she can't wait to see everyone. How some of the villagers are real strong in magic combat and are probably kicking some ass. I decided I will have to keep it to myself since when we get there she will see the cold, hard truth for herself.

We continue heading towards the village with Vicki going on and on how here people must be celebrating their victory. The sun is almost completely down when we came out of the forest. What greeted us was what I suspected. A village stood before us and it was on fire.

Vicki: NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

She rushes towards the village at full speed. I follow behind walking towards the village. The area around the village was a field of grass that was on fire. There were a few body's here and there. They had wounds ranging from stab's to burn's. When I entered the village the body count increased greatly. Their body's all over the dirt path in the village and some were smashed into building walls. Some seemed like they exploded with their organs all over the place. I continued walking through the village until I found Vicki.

She was sitting over the corpse of a young man crying. She was screaming and asking why. I figured she needed some time so I wondered off to find anything useful. What I found was a lot of broken swords and burnt books. The books were written in combination of english and ancient mayan so at first it was confusing but thanks to my knowledge I gained from the books on earth I could read them. Sadly all the books seemed to be simple stories about how some guy fought a powerful being and lived.

Not one of them picked my interest since I couldn't tell which were fake and which were real. So I decided to head back to Vicki. As I was about to make that last corner that would bring her into my view she suddenly appeared in front of me. Well just her soul appeared in front of me. I turned the corner and see a knife in her throat. Maybe this was to much for her and she wanted it to end was all I thought. I simply touched her forehead and allowed her to move on while simply didn't feel anything about her departure.

Me: Well that fixes a problem.

I said as her name disappeared from the book. I then began looking the houses hoping to find something useful or that weapon Vicki mentioned. All of them simply had basic necessities for everyday living. The books were destroyed and all that was useful to me was the food. I continued searching each house until I entered one that was bigger than the other's. It was like the other's inside but I found a survivor. It was a woman that was about 22-23. She was alive but she was in a daze. She just sat there in the corner looking at the floor with dead eyes.

She had purple hair that went to the middle of her back and great curves. She seemed of average height and was wearing a blood stained robe. I read about how some people shut out the outside world as a way to process what happened to them and guessed that's what she was doing. I thought about ending her life to so she wouldn't have to suffer but then I realized that she may be the only person who knows where the weapon is and what she knows about magic might be very useful to me.

So in the end I babysat a hollow husk. I burnt the bodies and put out the fires that were in the area. I took all the food in the village and piled them in the big house where the girl was. I knew that the chances of her coming out of her state with a balanced mind were slim but I still tried. She wouldn't eat or leave the house and hardly slept. Sometimes those knights showed up but I made quick work of them. After a week I began thinking this was a waste of time and began considering ending her. But before I could take action I got something unexpected from the her. She responded to me.

Woman: Don't...go...father.
