《Artificial Biological Runic intelligence》Chapter 20

Those ten seconds of sleeping didn't go unnoticed. The people that were together with Kaylen looked at her and waited for her to move. When those seconds came to pass, Kaylen awoke. She felt her brain work faster than before. The rate of data transferred from one core to another became mind-boggling. If before she received the upgrade was similar to a walking speed, now it was like a military airplane speed. That was because of her cache memory worked in the same frequency with the cores. Overall, the improvement gave her the bonus of being able to use the full potential of her runic brain.
"Are you okay, Kaylen?" Ashed Elora. She spoke because she saw Kaylen move her head a little. Kaylen had slept standing, and to the others, she looked like she was thinking. "Yea, I'm perfect," Kaylen answered. "Then why are you standing there? We have things to do!" "Yea, right. Let's go."
They walked the passage for a half an hour, but they had to stop because of a metallic door blocking their way. Grandmaster Marian moved forwards and on wrote letters by using mana in front of the door. The characters didn't match with the runes that Kaylen understood, nor words, but they were a blend of straight and curved lines. After Marian had written the twentieth-second letter, he forced them into the metallic door. The door gave a loud ringing sound, and then with a force that it was too much for sampling open a door, it crashed on the wall of the passage. A powerful booming sound followed after the door smashed on the wall. The wall had even caved in from by humongous force from the door, but the latter was in one piece.
From the other end, people moved fast closer to the door. They readied spells for a fight that wasn't going to happen. "It's me! I fucked UP the last letter!" Grandmaster Marian spoke. "Prove it!" Spoke an old man from the crowd. "I know that the code has twenty-two advance runic letters. I was too excited with what I heard from Elora's friend that my hand slipped on the last letter." Answered Marian. "The Marian that I know never gets excited with anything, nor does he makes mistakes." Said the old man. "You old withered bones, stop messing with me, you already know who I am. Now let us pass!" "Nope, that won't happen until you prove who you are!" The man said while he tried to stop himself from laughing out loud. Marian faced Elora and asked her. "Can you help me here, they never let us pass if we continue doing this." He was oblivious to what was happening around him. Marian hadn't even heard the tone of the other man while had spoken, or else he could have known that he was messing with him.
Elora didn't answer at first but looked at the old man that had spoken with Marian. She knew who the man was. The old man gave her a wink with his left eye. And Elora knew what to do next. "I don't think I can help you with that, grandmaster Marian. The will not let us pass even if I speak with them." It was time for her to play dump and have fun with the raged Marina. The people that worked on the facility did that to him because Marian was always focused on his work and never gave himself a break. So they took the matter into their hands and forced him to take a break with pranks like this one. And always at the end of every joke, Marian could be the one who laughed the most. But this time, it didn't go as planted. Marian was enraged with their antics.

"This is time for games!" Marian shouted, and coughed a few times. He placed his right hand in front of his mouth to help himself. He face was completely red from all of that. The left end of Kaylen's lip gave a twitch from what she was. She had clearly stated that if he spoke more, his vocal cords could get worse, but as it seems, he hadn't taken her advice at heart and now he was going to pay for that. When Marian finally stopped coughing, he hand had blood on it. Kaylen was mad with both Marian and Elora, but she said nothing, she had a patient to take care of first. Marian had dropped on the floor in the time it took Kaylen to go close to him which wasn't much.
But what Kalen found was not a awoke Marian, but one who had a seizure, with his eyes rolled back to his scalp, low heartbeat and pressure, shallow breathing, and blood flowing out of his mouth. It was clear that he has on the verge of death for a long time, and it only needed a small push for the death's scythe to come and tear him apart. The people who wanted to have some fun stopped what they were doing and looked at Kaylen and Marian. A second later, everyone ran at them as fast as possible and asked Kaylen questions that she wasn't going to answer anyways. Kaylem murmured everything to keep track of what she was discovering.
"Heartbeat at twenty beats per minute, shallow breathing at two breaths per minute, expecting brain damage, probabilities for broken brain vesicles are high, muscle cramps spotted on his left leg and it keeps going up, rolled up eyes, expecting blood on lungs and bleeding, cells necrosis estimated to happen in thirty seconds, brain death at ten seconds, chances of death 92%. Tools at hand, zero. Changing last value to 98%."
Kaylen didn't like what she had deducted in those few seconds of examining Marian's body. She also felt anxious. He was the first patient she had in her new life. Adrenalin was pumped into her body by her will. She forced so much that heartbeat had hit the highest she had ever record to a being.
Fight or flight has engaged. Overdrive is enabled.
Max adrenalin overdose at two μg per liter of blood.
Twelve μgs are in the user's body.
Strength and Intelligence stats increase by fifty times.
Time left before imminent death. Ten seconds left.
Conscious stamina tracking has stopped.
Perk: the Divine body has double the time before death at twenty seconds.
Twenty seconds before death.
The Runic mind is now working at 100%
With that boost, Kaylen could now think about how to save the man's life. She could understand why the chances of death were at 98% and not at 100%, that was because she had a tool she could use, that was mana. She then used her medical knowledge to make a spell for healing. The perfect healing spell. But before that, she had to produce a magic spell that could find the injuries that were on the body. With her new stats, she could think of new ideas far faster than before. She used her new brain power to produce the spell in a fraction of a second. The scan spell could give her all the information she wanted from the target's body. From how many cells the target has, to where the damage was.

Perfect health scan.
To use, the user has to be touching the target.
Mana cost ten mana per use.
Every level on the skill lowers the mana needed.
Next thing she had to do now was the healing. The new idea came to her in an instant. She wanted the mana to create perfect stem cells for that could do what she wished them to do. In all, the user had to know where everything was suppose to go, and that where the scan came into play.
Perfect Healing.
The user can heal every injury. External, internal, and DNA.
Heal 1% of the target's health at the cost of 100 mana per second.
Every level on the skill lowers the mana needed. Perk Unlocked.
The Perfect Healer.
Every skill that in the category (Health) will cost one-fourth of the original mana cost.
And now it was time for Kaylen to get to work. She fired up the spells for the mana regeneration and went to work. She used the perfect health scan, and every detail came to her brain. She was also able to pinpoint damage on the DNA. She found the injuries and started the healing prosses. The time it took her to create the two new spells wasn't even a second, but the time she was going to need for her to fix up Marian could be the judge. She first fixed the open vessels on the brain, after that it was the brain. There was a little injury to his brain. She required five seconds to repair the damage on those two. Next was the heart. He had a genetic cardiac arrhythmia and thicker cardiac muscle walls. That took her eight seconds to fix that. She had to correct the DNA first, and then the heart. That was why she had to take so much time. And the last thing she had to repair was the lungs. Three seconds later that was done too. Marian now was in perfect condition. He was going to live a life far longer than before. No, Kaylen had double his live span, she had repaired his heart to perfection, and the same thing she had done to his lung and brain. But that couldn't be said for Kaylen. Kaylen stoped the overdrive and checked herself.
The overdrive had taken its toll on her body. Her previous beautiful body was now no more than skin and bones with little to no existent muscles. Well, you couldn't call the bones, real bones. It was more like something brittle was on her body, if she moved everything in her body could get destroyed. The good thing from all of this was that her organs, heart, and brain were affected at all. Every point of energy had come from her bones, muscle, and skin.
The first person who moved was Elora. She went and checked Marian and see if he was alive and well. Then followed Alica and did the same, she checked Marian and felt his pulse strong and well. But no one went to check Kaylen. Her clothes covered her whole body, and her hair covered her face. "He looks fine." Said Elora to everyone else. "But let's be sure and send him to the infantry hospital. Let's move him, Alica can you help me?" "Don't ask help from me. I can't even lift a thing. Ask Kaylen to do that. She is far better at doing those kinds of things." Both of them looked at Kaylen expecting something, but Kaylen never spoke. Not because she didn't want to talk, but she couldn't, not even her lips were cooperating.
Alica moved her hand on the front of Kaylen's face expecting a reaction, but there was none. "Come on Kaylen. You did it. Aren't you happy for helping someone like Grandmaster Marian?" Asked Alica again expecting something. A few seconds passed without Kaylen saying anything. This time Alica had a bad feeling about all of this. "Kaylen?" She asked again, but this time she looked at Kaylen's face that was hidden by hair. Alica screamed when she saw Kaylen's face. Elora did the same with the similar reaction. "Alica let's move her first." She said after she had somehow calmed down. She then spoke to the other people that were still looking at them. "All of you help move Grandmaster Marian to the military hospital, and we will move Kaylen." When Alica recovered from what she had seen, she spoke. "We are moving Kaylen to the palace. I don't want to risk her dying from mistreating because she is human." Elora gave her a nod, and they all went ahead and moved the two people to different directions.
Elora teleported them away from the research facility and into the palace. She had taken precautions for Kaylen to be able to teleport safely. Alica piggybacked Kaylen all the way to into Kaylen's room. She then left her there and went to ask help from her mother and father. Elora had stayed back to watch over Kaylen.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
