《Artificial Biological Runic intelligence》Chapter 18

"To use more effectively your spells, you can make a single rune rather than running a bunch of basic runes." Said Elora. They were still in the backyard, playing with spells. "Can you write down the runes for the spells? I want to see how you made it." Kaylen gave her a nod, and Elora summoned a paper and a pen. And Kaylen wrote down the spells. When Kaylen completed writing the flamethrower spell, she gave it to Elora. Elora read it and then spoke.
"I can understand how you went with this. You made six different clusters of runes, for six different things. The first group of runes is for the mana and what it should do. Essentially, you wrote what the spell should do. The second group is for the recoil of the spell. You didn't want to fly around with this spell, but to flame something up. The third group is for the mana not be able to harm you. The fourth group is air resistance. You wanted for the spell to be able to be used with whatever air currents there were in the environment. The fifth group is for some extra speed on the jet. And Finally, the sixth group is for how the extra mana has to be applied. You essentially made a spell without a mana input limit. Was my deduction right?" Kaylen gave her a yes, and Elora continued. "And how much time did it took to make it work? By my estimations, it should have taken a week or so to create the spell. Is that right?"
When Kaylen heard this, she didn't want to speak at all. It had only taken a couple of seconds to create the spell because she had seen how it worked from One. "Well, I made it in a few seconds. It was in combat too." Both Alica and Elora looked at her without saying anything and with dead eyes. "What?" Kaylen said. "It was normal for me to think about that kind of spell and create it. I saw it a couple of times used by a demon."
"Really?" Elora said, with an eyebrow higher than the other. "You designed it using runes and in combat? That I can't believe it, it seems too far fetched. If you had said days, I could have probably believed you." She gave a little pause, to gather her thoughts and she added. "Anyway. Can you write down the other spells too?" "I can." Elora gave her more paper to Kaylen. A few minutes later, Kaylen had written down her spells. Elora studied the runes and then said. "The last spell will be quite useful, only if I can make it more efficient of course. And as a thank you, I will give you a spell of mine. It a simple accelerated thinking spell, and as the name implies, the spell will make you able to think faster. But there is a downside to it. It makes your brain output more heat. So you can't use it endlessly." She then wrote the spell and gave it to Kaylen. "If you can learn it without writing the runes in the air, this spell will be quite useful to you, Kaylen." She had to use a lot of those magic papers to write the spell.

They kept on talking for some time until Alica said to go back to the basement. When they were there, Renna and Molonym stopped talking and face the others. They had up their minds for what the array should be, but they wanted a little more time to make sure. In the meanwhile, the three girls went to the backyard yet again, but this time they said nothing. They just stayed there looking at the rain. Kaylen took the papers from her adventure badge and started reading them. More minutes passed, Kaylen was reading while Alica and Elora were chatting. A maid came to inform Elora that Renna and Molonym had finally made up their minds for what they wanted from the array. After the made told them that the Queen was ready, all of them went back to the basement.
When they were there, Renna spoke. "What we need from the array is healing, faster stamina regeneration, fatigue removal, mental fatigue removal, and an auto charge mana battery. That's all."
"If that was all, why it took you so much time to think about everything?" Asked Elora confused. She genuinely didn't know why people took so much time to think things up. But the difference between her and all the other was the higher intelligence stat. Although she couldn't see a numerical value like Kaylen, she could understand to an extent as to why she could think things faster, but never gave it much attention.
"It will take an hour at most to make the array, but I need a magic core to create the mana battery. And get me one with high quality, because of the things you need Renna, the array will need too much power." Elora said, and went to work.
"How much energy does the core has to have to make the array power up?" Asked Renna.
"Eleven energy to be safe, but if you find a higher one, take the higher one."
"Molonym, go to the treasury and get me one magic core with twelve energy to be even safer."
Molonym then ran from the basement to somewhere else. He even left wet shoe prints on the floor. A few seconds later he was back with a core in his hand. Kaylen took the chance and analyzed the orb with her system.
Magic core Level 1232.
And by this, Kaylen deduced that the scale of energy that Renna and Elora were referring to was equivalent to 100 levels per one unit of energy. Molonym then gave the core to Elora, and the latter started writing the runes on the floor faster. Everyone expects Renna watched Elora writing the runes with wonder, astonishment, and disbelief all at the same time. It was the first time they had seen an array build up from scratch and with that kind of speed. Her work was a piece of art with many complex runes, but that wasn't all. They felt like this because Elora was on the brink of chaos, a single mistake, and everything could go wrong, while if she did everything right, the most complex array had ever existed could be built in front of their eyes. Even in Renna's eyes could be seen some excitement. But all that energy came crashing down after Elora finished with the task.

"That was easier from what I had expected, but oh well. With how much time I have spent with runes, that should have been faster." She said while she kept on looking at what she had just made. She then stretched her limbs and looked at the others. Everyone had a deadpan expression on their face. Elora was taken aback by what she saw and said. "What happened to you all? Is there something wrong with my array?" Even though she had said that; she didn't believe she had made a mistake while building the array or in the process of creating the battery.
"It's just that you created something extraordinary, but you play it off like it was nothing to brag about." Said Alica and all the others agreed with that Alica said by giving nods.
"Anyway, Molonym it's a good time to try the array and see if it works like intended." Said Renna. She retrieved a dagger from her boot and made a small cut on her forearm. She then went and sat on the array and molonym kneeled down and transferred mana to it. The wound on Renna's forearm healed within seconds. Then Renna spoked. "It truly does work. I even feel refreshed mentally and physically."
"Good to know it works. Now, I will take my leave." Said Elora and went to leave the basement, but she didn't even have the time to make a single step closer to the exit because Renna's spoke.
"Where do you think you are going to my childhood friend? We have many things to talk about, but first, we are going to have lunch." Said Renna.
"Fine, I will do what you say, Renna, for now at least."
All of them had lunch together. After that, Kaylen and Alica were yet again alone with each other. "So. What do you have to say about Elora?" Asked Alica. "Nothing much to say. She is just like any other normal person I think." "So you believe she is normal?" "Yes." Alica shooked her head and sighed. "The thing is, she isn't normal at all. She is the most, not normal person I have ever known." "Why do you say that? She seemed fine to me." "I will tell you why just give me a few seconds to put my thoughts in order."
"She is the most clever person I have ever known, but I think I already told you that and all those kinds of researches she does. But another thing that I haven't told you is that she can make magic items, she can design spells faster than anyone, come up with ideas in an instant, and like always, have an answer for everything. She is the strongest mage we have ever had. And she can control all affinities. That makes her the best asset of the city. Without her, we could have been probably dead. It because of her that the humans haven't attacked us yet. She can wipe out thousands of soldiers with a couple of spells. And now, she has locked herself in the research facility, because the next human attack will be harder to fight. Long story short, you will have to train even more, and as for me, I will have my demons do the things I need." And with that Alica left to her bedroom.
'That was unexpected.' Thought Kaylen.'That was unexpected.' Kaylen thought. She hadn't anticipated Alica to tell her to get stronger because humans were going to attack in the future and sincerely she hadn't expected Alica to leave her alone just like that. And now she had to double the efforts on cultivating. Get more skills, and learn the new spell Elora gave her. That was the things in her mind that she had to do first.
While she was thinking, Molonym was stalking her. He wanted to hone Kaylen's alertness skills. With a wooden dagger in his hand, he attacked Kaylen from behind. Kaylen was still thinking about things, but she had to stop because of a skill that it hadn't work for quite some time finally came back to life. She dodged by bending her spine forward ninety degrees. But she lost her footing because of the fast movement.
"Good, good. You have it in you." Said Molonym. "Now, we have to train your dodging skills, but that will take some time, but it can become faster by hunting monsters that are a little bit stronger than you. Now come to the backyard and let's train some more. I like how you attack with all you got every time."
Both went to the backyard and trained for two hours. They had to stop because Alica and Elora had come to pick her up and go to the research facility.

8 194Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...

8 78Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
