《Artificial Biological Runic intelligence》Chapter 10

She had finished every book. There were a lot of exciting books, but what she liked the most was the affinity books. Especially metal, she could create many things with just mana and some metal. Affinities were the basics of casting skills without runes. If she had the flame affinity, she could be able to use the two spells she had without creating any runes. But there was no time for that. People were outside of the cave. To be exact, they were 51 people, and by what she was getting from the skill, it was Alica and the crew.
How did they find her, she didn't know. All she knew was that they were coming to the cave. Alica's head popped at the entrance of the cave. "So, you were here. You didn't get the message that I send you?" Kaylen looked at her, with a confusion. "I will take that as a no. It seems that someone had stopped the messages going out." She pondered. A few seconds later she looked again at Kaylen. "So, what did you find here?" She went inside and saw all the books that were on the cells. "Books?! Who could have left books here?" She picked up one of the books and looked at Kaylen. "All I know came from the orb." Said Kaylen and pointed at the orb. "It was a black-clothed person, that spoke about the books and that he had made the orb at the year 13053 of the elven calendar."
"13053 you said?" Alica looked even more confused. "We are a thousand years ahead, how did the books survive?" She didn't ask someone in particular, mostly herself. Kaylen saw that she had a tick when she was thinking, she could bite her lower lip. Kaylen waited for Alica to finish her thoughts. When Alica stopped biting her lower lip, Kaylen spoke. "So what do we do now? I mean, did you do what you wanted to the emperor or no?" Alica spoke without moving her head from the book. "Not yet. We will have to go to the elven city that is at least a month away. And I came here to get you. By the way sorry for what happened. I hadn't expected anything like that to happen. Sorry." She apology was genuine, but Kaylen didn't give much thought, she didn't care.
"So when do we leave?" Asked Kaylen. "We can leave now, but it will take too much time, and we will have to fight the winter, that will come in a month from now." "I do not have anything else to do. We can leave now." "Excellent!" She put the book back to the cell and went out. Kaylen picked every single book and placed it in the badge she had. Space was enough for every book. She stored every book and picked up the ring too.
Ring of knowledge. Requirement level to use the ring: 1300.
Kaylen lost it. "Why everything needs such a big level requirement. I don't get it." "Are you coming?" Asked Alica. "Yes, now!". Now, the group of 52 people began the one month travel. Well, mostly running. "If we run continuously, we can be there in two weeks time. You will be the one who slows us down. And the faster you are we faster we will be there." Kaylen nodded. All of them jogged at a steady pace. The target was the desert. They descend the slope from the peak of the mountain and into the desert.

"Can you go faster?" Asked Alica, Kaylen nodded. They picked up the pace to a running. Kaylen didn't feel exhausted. She ran faster until her running skill couldn't give more speed. She had 13 levels left to hit 100. Everyone else was able to keep up with her. No, not even close, she was the only one who was running, the others were jumping on the dry ground. And they had the same speed as her. Even 'Fifty' was doing the jumping thing.
"If we keep it up, we will be there in less than a week." Said Alica. "What is the max speed that you can run?" Alica grinned and used her full power. It was like she was teleporting from one place to another. If the earth dragon was fast, Alica was even faster. At a max speed of 1500km/h. She did a couple of circles around them and stopped at the front of the group. "Although I can go this fast, my mana is draining very fast to be able to keep that speed. I use a barrier to protect me from the air and a wind spell to accelerate me to those kinds of speeds. But if I have to run from something, this is the best method that I have."
Kaylen didn't say anything, but she looked at her.
Alica Avyrilth, ??? , Wood Elf-??? , Level 1672.
'That's new.' Kaylen though, but didn't give much thought to it. It was just missing information of her part. Alica was neither a queen and neither and human-elf hybrid, but something else.
They ran for 7 hours later, her running skills had hit level 100, and the same for athletics.
Running has hit max level.
New skill: Wind running have generated.
Athletics has hit max level.
New skill: Muscle Empowerment have generated.
She felt like a spell was cast on her feet to make her run faster. And her muscle felt like they had changed from a biological form to carbon fiber. But that was what she felt, in reality, nothing had changed. As for her new wind running. It was like a spell, but it used stamina as a fuel. Her speed had just doubled from before. She didn't feel the wind hitting her face anymore, not even the air resistance. She passed Alica and kept going forward. Alica laughed and picked up her pace too.
"We are going to get there in less than three days if you can keep it up!" She looked happy for some reason. An hour later, they had their first enemy to fight, a scorpion that was 50 times larger than a normal, and it had two tails rather than one.
Desert King Scorpion. The king of all desert animals, Level 2354.
"Kaylen, you stay back, this isn't going to be an easy fight," Alica said, with a tint of panic in her voice. "This shouldn't have existed. It's even stronger than a fucking dragon. Everyone disperses, this will be a hit and run fight and don't get hit by the tails!" Alica shouted to everyone. The demons followed the command and Kaylen run on the back. The scorpion didn't let them move as the liked. It teleported in front of Alica and used it's pincers to cut the head of Alica. Alica used a spell to dodge the pincers. With a flash of light, she was teleported away from her position and behind the monster. The pincers hit the air. Alice used a spell that bound the scorpion in place. The demons used ever spell they had on their kit. It was like a show of fireworks. But there was no visible damage done to the monster exoskeleton. It looked more annoyed than anything else. It shook its powerful body to break the bind, and with a second it attacked Alica again.

Kaylen didn't know what to do, she kept looking at the monster, but she found nothing she could do, it was even moving faster than Alica. But something was hitting her mind from the back. Not literally, but mentally. She thought for a second and the thing that she had placed on the back of her mind was the Legendary language pack from the Karma system. It even had the language of the ants in it. She was even using it to speak and read. But what never crossed her mind was that it had the monster languages too. Well, technically she knew they were there but she hadn't analyzed the data.
But now it was time to do that and create a telepathy spell. Well, the scorpion was trying to do that thing in the first place. But it was attacked for no reason.
Desert King Scorpion is trying to communicate with you.
"What do you mean you want to communicate with me !?" She shouted loudly. Everyone stopped, even the scorpion, and all of them looked at her. "Finally someone spoke with me!" Though the scorpion inside her head. "You are in my head!" Kaylen shouted again, but this time it was aimed at the scorpion. "Yes, it was only you that could understand me." "What do you mean, I was the only one that could understand you?" "Yo, Kaylen what the fuck are you saying?" Shouted Alica. "I'm speaking to the scorpion. What can you not understand me?" She looked confused at Alica, while Alica looked confused at her. "No, you were speaking like you a mouth full of sand. Whatever, you sound it not human." "Aha." "Well, it's good to speak with someone. I have slept for a thousand years, but no one had survived the desert, not even my kind, that's why I came to the surface when I felt vibrations on the ground."
"It said that it had slept for a thousand years and none of his kind to have survived in the desert, that's why it came up," Kaylen said to Alica. "Ask it why it attacked!" "Because you were shouting, and he got scared." "How a monster can be scared? Never mind, ask it if it can let us pass." "He said yes, but only if we stay with 'him' for some time. He is lonely he said."
All the demons and Alica grouped together at the front of the scorpion. Kaylen was doing all the translating things. They stayed like this for an hour before the scorpion said something really interesting. "There are some old building that I have found under the desert floor. When I went to sleep, I randomly dug to one of the roofs of the building. You better come, and check them out. I found it fascinating when I found them."
"He said to follow him to some buildings that are underground, and he said the buildings were fascinating." "And why should we follow him? I mean, he is a monster, and he probably wants to eat us." Said Alica. Kaylen said the same thing to the scorpion. And he understood. "He said, we don't have to believe him, but we can trust him." "Well, trust is something a monster does not have you know. He will kill us when he will show us what he wants." Alica said. Kaylen said the same thing to the scorpion, and the later did something really interesting. He slipt some of his blood to Kaylens head. It started to evaporate after it hit her. Everyone looked at her with shooked of there face.
Desert King Scorpion (Level 2354) has volunteered to become your soul pet. Y/N
"I accept you to become my soul pet." And with a flash of light, the scorpion disappear and went inside Kaylen soul.
The Desert King Scorpion wants to come out. Y/N
'Yes.' And the scorpion appeared again. "You know that you have the highest luck of us all?" Said Alica. "To have a soul pet this strong and willing to do that. It's my first time seeing something like this. Tell me what have you done to get this lucky?" Alica was now depressed, she had tried to make a lower-level monster to be her pets, but none of them had accepted, not even a mouse would accept her. "And you know what else? The soul pet can give you the essence by killing things. And you can get as strong as me in less than a year. While I had to fight for my life for years. Well, my demons had to fight, but that's not the point. You better keep him safe. If he dies, he will be dead forever." Kaylen nodded and spoke to the scorpion again.
This time all of the followed him without questions to the hole he had made to come up.
