《Artificial Biological Runic intelligence》Chapter 7

While Kaylen was thinking in her room, 'One' looked at 'Fifty' and with excitement spoke. "Kaylen learned her first spell! It was the flamethrower that I always use! She did indeed read the books that a gave her. And she got her first power essence advancement. I asked her to celebrate, but she went to her bedroom." 'Fifty' studied for a few seconds 'One' and then said. "You are not joking, are you?" "Yeap, I was it with my own eyes and, in fact, she burned two wolves with the said spell." And then she took out the two wolf carcasses and placed them on the bar. 'Fifty' looked at the wolves and the burnt wool. She took them and moved them to the kitchen. "So, how did she learned the spell? Did you see her try at all?" 'One' shook her head indicating a no. "She didn't do a thing, in an instant she was circled by wolves and the other she was using a spell." "You know, you don't give much of detail you know. Try to be more specific if you can." 'One' sighed and told the whole story. When 'One' finished the story, 'Fifty' had a thoughtful look on her face. "What is she just created the skill with just mana manipulation and not with runes? You can't know that." "I tell you, she used runes, and she didn't even write something in the air or used an incarnation. She has pitiful mana reserves, and because of that she couldn't have cast the spell two times and the second cast became stronger than the first one. I'm sure she used runes with her brain!" "Nah, she didn't, it was just mana." 'Fifty' just kept believing her thing, she was right though, Kaylen hadn't use any runes. She made the skill with runes, but the execution was with just mana and not with the help of runes. The simulations needed the spell with the runes to make sure that it worked and not blow up herself.
"But, I am sure for one thing, the spell was made with runes from the start but she used it with just mana." 'One' said and left. She didn't like when one of her sisters challenged her to information work at all. But, she was wrong this time and forgot to give the rabbit carcass.
...
Kaylen was in her bedroom, still, think what to do with the stats points and the skill point.
Wisdom +0.01
The message was repeated ten more times before Kaylen said to use the skill point on the flamethrower skill.
Skill point used on Spell Flamethrower
Spell Flamethrower +1
The skill point has double the bonuses from every level on this skill.
Kaylen read the message, and she now wanted to use the skill right now. But her mana wasn't even half full yet. But not everything was lost, she could use the simulation like she had done to make the skill. She did that and found nothing had changed. Nothing at all, same mana cost, same range, same heat out. She read the message once more and facepalmed herself. Of course, nothing had changed, because the message said 'double the bonuses for every level'. She had no levels on the skill. After she finished with that, she had to place the stats points. She placed all the points in wisdom. She wanted thoughts. Finishing and with that, she went downstairs.
"Can we go hunting again?" Asked Kaylen, she wanted to level up more and be more powerful. 'One' looked at her and smiled. "Not today, we have to open the shop. We can go tomorrow but only if you wake up early. Now go back to the kitchen and get ready to clean more dishes." Kaylen followed the instruction and went back to the kitchen. 'Forty-nine' and 'Forty-eight' were back in the kitchen with her. Everyone was ready for work. Her day passed like that, her cleaning more dished. When it was midnight 'Fifty' told her that she was could eat and go to sleep.

The next day.
Runic mind cores are now 102.
Perk: Runic mind synapses is now tier 5. (10,20,50,75,100 next tier at 200)
Every new core will now be added instantly after a skill level ups.
She smiled and went downstairs really fast. She was ready for more thing to do today, but when she was downstairs, she found no one. Everything was quiet and with no one around. The door was locked for the inside. Her skill was screaming to her that some people were here. She had felt that someone was here from the start, but she thought that they were demons and not someone else.
People were coming from the stairs trying to be quiet with every move, but Kaylen already knew that they were there, and closing in. From her skill, she picked more than the fifty demons that worked here. She turned around and used all of her mana to the flamethrower spell. The spell had three times the power, and more than half of the people were aflame from the power of the spell.
"Do not let her run away!" A manly voice was heard from the back, while Kaylen was trying to open the door. She succeeded with the door and ran away as fast as she could.
Level 30 soldier had died.
Level 25 soldier had died.
Level 33 soldier had died.
Level 53 soldier had died.
......
Thirty messaged played back to back. Thirty people died in that exchange. The average level of the dead soldiers was 34.
You are now level 9.
Running unlocked.
Athletics unlocked.
She didn't know where to run expect to keep running. She used 6 points to upgrade the Mantra of Colossal Stamina to +3 and 1 point to running and athletics. She kept running, and she felt like she could continue running like that forever. She didn't know what was following her, but the only thing she knew was they were soldiers, and no demon was alive. She ran to some back alleys until she was in an unknown location. Her skill didn't pick up any soldier following her only the people in there houses sleeping. She didn't know what happen and why. But she knew something was up with Alica. They probably found out what Alica was doing in the shadows. She thought little more and more things came up. Maybe it was the mission, people knew that they were deaths of nobles and they used baits to drow out the assassin; while they were out from the shop, someone came and checked the shop. A wild guess but she was on point. A guard had come from the shop to check it out and found now one. But the problem was how she didn't wake up, and how did they kill 'One'? How did Alica was found out, everything was in chaos. She stopped thinking and used all the stats on wisdom.
Her skill picked soldiers searching ever alley they could. She had to move, it was still night outside, and the visibility was limited. There were lamps on the main streets that gave light around the road but that was all the lamps could provide. She ran to the gate to where the jungle was, but she found guards. The good thing was they were sleepy, and she could probably pass them without them chasing her. She pasted the gate without the guard giving her chase. They didn't even look at her.
She was now in the jungle, and she knew that being here while it was still dark wasn't a good idea but she had to do something for her to survive. She left the jungle and went to the closest road she found and ran the way the road was going. She ran for more than eight hours before she saw the new city. When the distance between the city and her was five km she stopped. She searched for somewhere to hide. She found a mountain with a forest on the left side of the city, the forest was at least 300 kilometers away, but she could make it. Eight more our later, she was at the beginning of the mountain. She then climbed a tree, she felt exhausted and hungry. She found a big branch and slept on it.

She woke up by some wolves that were circling the tree, waiting for her to drop down or something. Ker skill picked up at least 30 of them.
Black Wolf Alpha (mutated), level 34.
'Why do bad thing always happen to me?.....HEY, this was my first thought!' Her eyes opened wide but the discovery, but the thing was she always had thoughts just not conscious. She used her flamethrower with all her mana to the Alpha wolf and but he was fast on his feet and succeed in dodging the skill. Kaylen though for some time as to what to do. She couldn't go down to the wolves and have a fight. She couldn't our run the wolves, and she hadn't enough mana to kill the wolves. 'Maybe a new spell that could be faster than the flamethrower maybe could do the trick.' She made more simulations with runes. When a few minutes had passed, she had a new spell that could help her do the thing she wanted.
Spell Firebolt unlocked.
It had the same mana cost as the flamethrower, but it was much faster and stronger, but she had only one shot. She waited for her mana to come back. When she was full, she used it on the Alpha wolf. The bolt went straight to the target and hit the head of the wolf. She had only used the base mana that the speel needed. The wolf shook it head for a few seconds and went back to looking at Kaylen. Kaylen used again the skill with double the mana and a faster and bigger firebolt came from her pointing finger. It hit the wolf on the head again and this time it caved in a little bit. This particular wolf had high vitality and couldn't just die from those simple spells. After a couple of hours later, the wolves left. They saw that nothing was happening and Kaylen wasn't going to fight them. They could go hungry for today, and Kaylen could live for the day. When she was sure the wolves had left, she climbed down the tree and searched for something to eat. 'If there are wolves here and thirty of them, that means there should be food somewhere, the question is where.'
She moved around the mountain forest, searching for something to eat. After a few minutes, her detection skill picked up a small animal moving around. She stealthily moved to where the animal was laying around and attacked it with her dagger. It was a lizard not a small animal if you counted that lizards shouldn't be that big. It was half the height of a wolf and had a skin tougher than iron.
Earth Dragon, kid, level 352.
When Kaylen saw the level and the name, and she turned tail. This wasn't like the jungle in the capital city but a forest with danger everywhere. And she now understood why the wolves had picked her and not the other animals. She ran back to the tree she had slept on, and stayed there for a minute, thinking about what she should do. If she wanted to go back to the city she could get killed, if she stayed here she could get killed, so where to go? She didn't want to run away again. She made up her mind and started to search for small targets, not the dragons, to kill and eat of course. She found some rabbits that were coming out of a dungeon every couple of seconds. She went closer to get the level of the rabbit and see if she should run away or fight. When she was closer, she stopped, she felt something comming this way, it was the earth dragon she had found comming to kill some of those rabbits. Kaylen waited for the dragon to finish killing and eating. But what the dragon did was to stay there and wait for more of those bunnies. It was like the dragon was taunting her to come out.
Kaylen left the spot and searched for more thing to try and kill. But with an empty stomach and probably 4 kilos lighter, it wasn't the best idea to move too much. She kept searching and searching until she found an actual rabbit moving around, it was like the mutated rabbit she had killed. Only this time it was 30 level. Kaylen got ready to attack the rabbit, while the rabbit was eating grass. She moved silently closer to the rabbit and targeted the stomach area of the rabbit. When she was sure that she could hit the target, she attacked. Blood came from the wound on the rabbit, it flowed like how river water flows. Painting every green thing in red. The rabbit looked at Kaylen and attacked, it had the same 4 sharp teeth and 8 eyes. They trade blows for some time until the rabbit died from blood loss. Kaylen had taken some hit too. SHe had a big wound on her left shoulder and broken bones on the same hand. She didn't know what she should do with the wound but she knew she had now something to eat. She did what the dragon had done to the rabbits. She took her dagger and started cutting pieces of meat from the rabbit and eating it raw. It wasn't the brightest idea, but she was hungry. She ate at least 3 kilos of meat. She left the carcass where it was, and left the site. She had picked wolves coming her way. They had smelled the dead being and wanted a part of it. Kaylen went back to her tree and slept for the night. She had done so many things and she didn't know what else she should next.

Because KU requires exclusivity as part of their terms of service, I have had to pull the majority of the content from this site. I left the full novel up for as long as possible, so I hope everyone got a chance to read it. If you haven't had a chance to read it in its entirety (sorry!) you can pick it up on Amazon. Thanks again for coming on this journey with me, and I so hope you enjoyed it. The book will be out on Tuesday July 24th. Best, James Hunter
