《T.B.O.K.K.J.》Chapter 10

Dream of revolting memory of a past that cannot be forgotten, a world filled with nothing but rotten flesh and putrid. I would pay any price to erase experience in that world from my memory. One of the very first penalty worlds I was forced to visit. No man could describe the absolute grotesque appearance of all inhabitants of that world. Ugly, distorted, deformed, and decayed. A true hell you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy. The unavoidable smell of rotten bodies roaming around the streets like normal beings. Whatever you touch would feel like a warm puddle of shit brewed in puke. Omnireaching loud sound as if the heavy machinery was working around you 24/7. And of course, whatever you eat or drink would taste like crap. All five senses were in anguish, simply by existing in that world. Yet, I had a quest in that world I had to strive in that world. I had to become successful, I had to marry and become a good husband, I had to get kids and become a good father. Every single moment in that world was nothing but agony, and yet I was forced to stay there for five decades. And when all my quests were completed I happily pulled the trigger.
An annoying and goofy voice pierced thru my ears and pushed me out of the shithole.

[(Hello there, sleeping beauty. Did you rest well?)]
How long has passed since I have died the last time? a couple of days? a week? In this white room, though I am not sure if you can call it a room. I am not sure if this place has walls or any boundaries. Just a white space that filled with nothing. No sense of time or direction is applicable here. Some would call it a limbo: a world between the worlds. A place for good people without devotion in one of the global religions. But, honestly not a big fan of theocratical comparisons, for me it's just a pit stop, to get some rest before another trip to the new world, possibly with different laws of physics and social norms.

I do remember the debates in the world with no abnormalities. A debate regarding solitary confinement. How badly it affects the psyche of the inmates and that it's close to impossible to rehabilitate them into society after long exposure to solitary confinement. Honestly, if I had the internet here, I wouldn't mind staying here for the rest of eternity. Snacks would be great as well.

-"Ughhhhh, your voice is annoying as usual. "
[(You are as nice as usual. Glad nothing changed.)]
-" For how long was I sleeping?"
[(A year, a month, a week?! Does it even matter? Since when are you so concerned with time?)]
-"Fuc* you, you know how out of my mind was I bored. Why the fuck did you leave me there all alone?"
[(It was taking too long. So I shut myself off. But, hey you did manage to clear that world. While you were sleeping I have read the quest log.)]
-"Ughhhhh, don't remind me of that MC."
[(Ke ke ke ke, it seems you have dodged a BL route.)]
-"That's only half of the problem have you seen that yandere bitch. I am sure she had a boner. "
[(Hmmmmmm, that's weird I don't recall seeing such settings in the previous world.)]
[Searching...]
-"Can we get back to the normal world, please. I am sick of nurturing the protagonists."
[(So that you could just shut in a room filled with snacks?)]
-"Come on it happened like what? Only three or five hundred tines no big deal."
[(Do you realize how......)]

[(It appears to be a 'normal' world without any supernatural activities.)]
-"Good Good, it will be an easy run then. Solve all the problems of the protagonist than a cruise in Mediterranian."
[(It seems that I won't be able to follow you there. This world will be a bit different. This world has an active owner. If I follow you there, you will be spotted right away.)]
-"Active owner?"
[(You haven't entered the world with active owners yet. You should be.........)]

When I came to my senses I was in front of the two-story building.
with a billboard 'Lon Taylor' with some hieroglyphs on the bottom of it.
it was very humid and hot. Even though I become conscious of myself just a few moments ago I was already drenched in sweat. This climate is fucking worse hot and humid.
(First thing first. I gotta check what I must do.)
[Quest List]
[1. Get a Job in Tamagawa Academy]
[2. Prevent Protagonist to attend school trip in June 2014]
[3. Keep working in Tamagawa Academy while Protagonist attends it]
( Not that bad, pretty easy to complete them all. Well where is MC?)

(Fuck me, I know where this is going.)
[Location failed]
[Protagonist is not born]
(Fucking great, what year is it?)
I tried to look around, but it was very late at night. This tiny crossroads section of equally small streets was dead silent.
'ここではありません' 'We ain't bite.' 'You are kinda cute.'
-'ちょっと待ってください'
Dead silence was interrupted by the conversation between as it seems three people. They did try to act sneaky, whispering to each other and trying to be as quiet as possible. They were right behind the bar named Carolina in a tiny alley between the bar and apartment building. The female noticed me right away.
-'変態、あなたは何を見つめていますか?'
-'Hey kiddo can you just leave?'
(Ahhh, right right.)
[Skill Activated]
[Universal Language]
Honestly, I did have enough time to learn all languages of the 'normal' world. But, after learning a second one, I simply gave up. I am way too lazy, even with all the time in the world I couldn't learn shit. I didn't even bother to learn my native language when I was brought into the world as a toddler. I still remember the face of an infamous nomadic conquerer when his only biological son suddenly started to speak English. The simple trick of the pointing finger was good enough for me until I managed to scrape enough points to buy "Universal Language".
-"Sorry to bother you, but what year is it?"
I have tried to address it to all three of them. But I guess since they were obviously speaking in a different language only a female answered me.
-'Showa 45. Now leave.'
-"Sorry, I don't really know your type of calendar."
-' Your? You don't know the calendar? Haha boy, stop acting like a foreigner, not in these rugs.'
[Skill Activated]
I have fired once from the shotgun. The female dropped dead.
-'What the fuck'
-'Boy, boy point that gun down.'
Both guys were acting very nervously. Well, who can blame them? I just killed a person right before them, I guess they aren't very used to this stuff.
-"I will repeat my question. What are the current year and a month?"
-'This is why you killed her?'
One of them connected two dots way too fast for someone who was shocked a moment ago. And when I was about to pull the trigger once again.
-'September 1970.'
-"1970? FUUUUUUUC* does it mean I have to wait more than 40 years? SHiIIIIIIIt"
After the gunshot, and my loud rant the entire neighborhood was awake. Random voices, footsteps were closing into this alley.
-"Oh well."
[Skill Activated]
I got my power suit from the inventory and activated invisibility mode.

8 179HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. Even war. 18-year-old Nic Sigfried wants the high score. Virtually piloting a real-life robot, he'll face off against his peers with the help of his AI guidance system, RTIFIS. The prize? New worlds across the galaxy that are ripe for human conquest and terraforming. It sounds glamorous on paper, but this job might be more dangerous than he thought... HUD: Wargame is the first of a five-part sci-fi series featuring GameLit elements. HUD: Wargame contains some (simulated) violence and very sparing PG-13 profanity. Updates Monday-Thursday-Saturday.
