It didn't take us much time to make our way to the lair of the Great Black Dragon King of Niveta forest. We didn't buy any weapons or armors since it would cost us money.

“Master, Are you sure you will be alright?”

“Although, i don’t think that i can defeat him by attacking from front but with my special ability there might be some way out of it.”

We also decided beforehand that Aria will stay out of this fight and hold herself at somewhere safe out of the range of the dragon. I am zombie but she is not. I don’t want to lose her.

We finally reached to a spot where we are able to get a look at dragon. He is really big. I look like an ant in front of him. His skin is totally dark black. He also has two giant wings on his back.

“It’s good that he didn't noticed us yet.”

“No i think he has already noticed us but he doesn't care because he don’t think of us as threats.”

I also heard from Aria that dragon don’t really interfere with other species matters. I mean there are people living near this forest for years.

“Why do they need to have him killed?”

“This is a quest directly made by Kingdom. They make this kind of quest to gain power among various species. Also by killing the dragon it will allow them to cut the forest for wood, land and other resources.”

“I see that means as long as dragon’s there it won’t allow humans to ruin his precious forest.”

“Yes, although most of the times this kind of quest are not meant to be taken upon by one or more group of adventurers but used as an invitation for adventurers around the world to take part in the quest.”

“I see..”

“When there are enough manpower from both the kingdom’s army and adventurers. The quest is committed.”

“Well i guess we will be the first ones to create the history.”

With all the preparations done, i left Aria at that spot. I walked alone until i was in front of the almighty dragon and brandished my sword. The one that i took from Gran.

Den vs Dragon Round 1 :

My first idea is to rush at him from front and see how far i can make it. I also need to check difference between our strength. Although, i am still a beginner, i am confident in my skill. If everything goes right. I might be able to give him one or two slashes with my sword.

“okay let’s do this”

I pointed my sword at the dragon. After taking a deep breath. I ran at him with all my might.

“yaaaaaaaaaa…”

I was screaming while running. I am filled with spirit, nothing can stop me now.

The dragon opened his eyes a little and looked at me before swinging his tail and sending my body flying.

“gahhh…”

That might have broke all my ribs. I was sent flying at least one kilometer away from him. No, if it wasn't for those trees i crashed in one after another i may reached to the town.

Den vs Dragon Round 1 :

result : Den’s pitiful lose.

“gu…”

I can’t even cry in pain. It seems my vocal cord is broken. It took a while before i got recovered from my pitiful state. By that time, Aria has also made it here.

‘Master…” She came at me shouting and hugged me.

“I am fine. Let’s try this again.”

“but...master”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.”

“uuuuu….”

We got ourselves back to the dragon. Alright that was a big fail. I have to think this through. First problem i have right now is speed. He can just throw me away before i can even get close to him.

Den vs Dragon Round 2 :

So i thought of one way to do it . This time instead of getting closer to him, i am going to make him come towards me. Aria said that when dragons get angry they don’t leave their opponent just like that.

I take a good distance from the dragon. I take one of the stones from the ground. I throw the stone as hard as i could aiming at dragon’s head. The stone hit his head hard. Dragon opened his eyes and looked at me.

“Alright..”

I took several stones and throw them at the dragon. I can see anger boiling in his eyes but he is still restraining himself. I throw another stone and this one hit his left eye. He finally lost his patience.

“GROOOOOOOOOOOO….” He screamed loud enough that even smallest creature in the whole forest can hear it. I had to shut my ears with my both hands.

He opened his mouth and i can see giant flame coming out of his mouth. I quickly put my hands in front of my head in a cross pattern. His flame enveloped my whole body. I felt like someone has put me in a hot oil. When his flame subsided, my skin was burned and my hands have turned into charcoal. The dragon was surprised to see me alive and to anger him even more i showed him a smirk.

“GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO……” oh man, he is furious. This time instead of using his tail or flame, he came at me running on his feet. I can feel the ground shaking. If i didn't know about my ability, i would have shit my pants by now. When he got closer to me, he used his claws to grab me. I was waiting for this chance. I dodged his claw and ran around him until i reached his back. I knew it would take some time for him to turn around because he is so big.

I can do this. I can win this. I used my sword and with all the power in me i slashed at rear part of his back.

“tannnnkk..” It sounded like i hit some kind of metal. The dragon was unscratched. On the other hand my sword has bent. I was shocked and couldn't think of anything until i saw dragon looking at me. This time he lifted one of his giant foot a little.

“shit.this is going to hurt.”

He stomped his foot on me with a lot of force. Then he lifted his foot up and stomped on me again. He did it five times. You can see a giant crater on the ground in the shape of a dragon foot. In the middle of the crater, you can find my flattered body. He lifted my body and looked at me before throwing me again in the woods.

Den vs Dragon Round 2 :

result : Den lost again.

“sigh..let’s try this one more time.”

“Master i think we should give up…”

“One last time, i promise Aria..”

“uuuu..ok”

“By the way Aria what happened there.”

“I am sorry but i forgot that dragons also have sturdy skin. Ordinary weapons like this sword won’t work on him.”

“So we can’t harm him like this..hmmmm”

“Aria do you know what dragons like to eat and when they eat their opponents.”

“eh..why..”

“I thought of an idea, if i can’t kill him from the outside then i will try this from inside.”

After that i took some knowledge about dragons from Aria.
