《Ley World-The Game》Chapter 36

The staircase was creepy. Enough that Jayson felt like not going down it. The walls, made of stone bricks, was slowly falling apart. Plant roots were breaking through the gaps in the mortar, slowly making their was into the staircase. Small stalagmites and stalactites were slowly being formed along the steps, forcing him to slowly maneuver his way down.
The staircase continued in this way for a few more minutes, before ending up leading into a wide, long hallway. it was mostly barren, save for the broken chandeliers spaced around the floor every 10 or so meters. The stone underneath him slowly cracked, his weight enough to break the remainder of the era-old construction.
The hallway never ended, never changed. Just an endlessly long tunnel through the planet. Time passed, and by now Jayson had taken to running. There were no traps, no beasts, no doors, just endless hallway with the occasional dripping of water.
It was quite calming, the slow drip, but even still, the unrelenting sense that something bad was coming never went away. It started as a small feeling in his gut, and had rapidly changed to cold sweat pouring down his body.
He didn't know what it was either, as he hadn't gotten a notification of gaining or increasing the level of a resistance skill. The sense of dread increasing, he finally came to a door. The hallway hadn't ended, but there was a random door on the left side of the hallway.
Unlike the rest of the area, the door wasn't worn at all. It looked like it had been placed down the day before actually. Walking up to it, the sense seemed to fade away. Looking at it, he was shocked. Its craftsmanship was overwhelming. Each curve done into the wood was made with precision accuracy, each drawing perfectly representing the golden ratio, it was like a door made by gods.

After a minute of tracing his eyes over the door, he got a pop-up.

# The Gemstone of Ominium 2 - Pain
Her unfazed expression didn’t even waver when the blade of her thin sword pierced one of the men all the way through armor, flesh and bone, a gurgling sound bubbling from his throat. With a kick she mercilessly pushed him back, freeing her blade, and glanced down at his dead body sprawled at her feet, confirming that death had indeed taken him. Stepping over the dead man’s body as if it were a mere pebble on her path, she raised her head just in time to see her second attacker lunge at her and, nimbly turning on her heels, she slit his throat. A spray of hot, sticky blood hit her left cheek and slid down her neck, but she didn’t even blink. The scent of the fresh blood filled her nostrils and her brain like an inebriating drug and she stepped forward once again, lightly turning to one side to avoid being decapitated and quickly returning the favor. One by one the men kept falling as she advanced, victims of her lethal, almost mechanical movements, as if she’d been born with a sword in hand and ready to kill …* This is a direct continuation of Book 1 - Denial. You CANNOT start reading Book 2 without reading Book 1, since the story won't make any sense! Enjoy ^_^*
