《Dungeon Boss Player》Chapter 08 - Bad Wolf's day and Great Treasure?

Kai walked back to his dungeon and as soon as he and his minions entered it light covered their bodies and their wounds were healed.
“So this is what happens when they're not killed but wounded in a weird battle with another dungeon.” Kai said with a smile.
“It wouldn't have happened if you two really had a PVP, the wounds would stay and they would need to be healed with herbs or magic.” Isis voice came from Kai’s bracelet and soon a doll with long purple hair appeared before him. “Couldn't you have done something so that I wouldn't need to stop you two?” She asked looking at Kai’s face.
“I could do nothing, the Doll just attacked before I could say anything.” Kai said shaking his big body. “And how do we actually start the PVP?” He asked looking at the AI.
“You need to say your name, level, and ask the other boss to accept your challenge, then the other will have to do same process except that at the end they would agree or disagree with the challenge.” Isis explained with a sigh. “And there is a party function as well.” She said looking at Kai, who looked at her interested in the idea.
“How dungeons can form parties? Did you not say that each have their own ‘miniature world’?” He asked the AI. “They can only meet when they're walking around… it would be weird if it was like that.” Kai said without taking his eyes out of the doll before him.
“Well.. to form the party you follow the same procedure as to challenge someone to a duel, but instead of a fight you ask them to form a party with you.” Isis said and her hair suddenly changed to a long ponytail. “And to accept or decline the process is still the same.” She added before she crouched down to get a small stone that was on the floor before smiling.
“So to form a party or to duel someone I have to say my name to them and vice-versa.” Kai said nodding his head. “That is a clever way to make a party and duel.” He added just to turn around before he walked outside.
The six wolves followed behind him, they did not wait for Isis, who was gathering a bunch of stones inside the dungeon. They were out for some hunt. The conditions were favorable and they didn't want to lose a single hunting day.
The only thing that made it hard for them to grow was food, with more food, more minions, and more minions meant more food and workforce. It was the cycle he could not escape and he did not want to because this made him grow stronger as well.
“I should start making the Wild Dogs go hunt and evolve as well…” Kai said as he walked through the forest looking for any signs of prey.

Roran waited at his house, he had no strength to go out and hunt that day, and even if he had the strength to go, he was scared of meeting the Black and White Wolf his daughter adored.
“That thing… it is not something from this world.” He murmured as he stood before his home with his bow at his side. He was waiting for the reply from the Adventurer Guild, which had a building in each town while on villages they had a small room where people could ask for help from the adventurers.
Once a Quest was made, the guild would give the giver a card with a stamp, this card could only be given willingly and if taken by force it would break, making the quest null and the party would get no reward, which was chipped from all the people from the village making them aware of the danger and the money they prepared was something they were planning to use for other things, but this was a must.

“I hope they come fast, the faster the better…” Roran murmured as he watched for any sign that the Big Wolf would do anything to the village while they waited for the reply. “That thing… if I go by my daughter’s words, it grew ever since she met it.” He said shaking at the thought of wolf entering the village and killing the villagers.
“Something need to be done.” He said taking his bow, but his face warped and he let go of the weapon. “Why can I not hold my bow?” He cursed as he looked at the weapon, which was on the ground beside him.
He couldn't help but see the wolf looking at his eyes every time he held the weapon, and even feel the warm breath of the beast at his back and the smell of its breath. The fear the Wolf imprinted him was making him aware of how weak he was.
“I-I need to protect my family…” Roran said as he took the bow once more, just to let it go a second later.
“Father?” A weak voice came from the door and Roran quickly looked at the place and there he found a boy with a sick appearance.
“Son, why are you out of the bed?” Roran said as he quickly walked towards the boy, his son, who had a weird illness that made his body grow weak.
“I felt a bit better… so I tried to… walk a bit…” The boy said between breaths. “I felt stronger…” He finished giving his father a weak smile.
“So rest, your body is not ready to go around walking.” Roran said looking at the pale face of his son, but a small rosy color appeared on his cheeks, something that had never happened from a long time. “You need to rest so once you're recovered you're able to do what you want to.” He said giving the boy a big smile.
“Then… I want to see… Mister Wolf…” The boy said once he was put back on his bed. “Sister said that… Mister Wolf is cool… and will give me… strength.” He said looking at his father's face.
Roran didn't know what to say or do, he was petrified by his son's words and the worst part was that his daughter was telling him about the Wolf.
“Then once you're strong enough, I'll bring you to see Mister Wolf, just like I did with your sister.” He said ruffling his son's hair and in no time the boy had already fallen asleep.
Roran left the room before he fell to the ground. His face between his hands. He wanted to know what to do, an answer, but nothing came to him.
“What should I do?” He finally asked, looking as weak as his own son and even smaller than him.

Kai stood before his preys with a smile on his bloody lips while around him his minions, were watching the surroundings. He was pleased to see that he was getting more and more accustomed with his wolf body.
‘It would be funny to see me on my first day… I could only run and wasn’t able to attack well enough to end the life of those small rabbits on my own dungeon.’ He thought as he stretched his shadow towards two horned rabbits, a lizard and a blue lizard.
Kai's shadow swallowed the corpses and he left the spot but while he was walking around to get some more prey, one of the wolves was tired and stopped walking.

He didn't know what happened and when he looked closer, he saw a swelling stomach. He was surprised by the size but he did not waste time.
“We're going back to the dungeon.” He said to the wolves and started walking in the front of the group while two wolves helped the one that had a swelling belly back by using their bodies to hold it up.
Kai slowly walked on the front while avoiding most prey he could easily kill because he had to pay attention to his minions and his force had weakened by three.
‘It is good to see that the breeding time is small, but it still is weird… it is too fast.’ He thought but soon stopped as he could finally see his dungeon.
“Lie inside our den.” Kai said once they entered the cave. “Today is a good day, more minions will be born soon.” He added as he decided to summon more wild dogs and six magic circles appeared around him and soon six of his weakest minions appeared.
He was puzzled because he wanted to call for more but it looked like he was not able because of a small decisive factor, the number of puppies inside the pregnant wolf was already set and he knew the number already.
“Six wolves are going to be born from that one…” He murmured with a smile. “WILD DOGS, GATHER!” Kai suddenly shouted and all the wild dogs that were digging walked towards him.
“This are the new digging members, older diggers, you are to level up.” Kai said as he gestured his muzzle to the old four diggers and gestured to the rabbits and lizards that were running around. “Once you level up, evolve! There is no time to lose.” He said as he walked around just to see their progress on his third room.
It was still small but it was already a room and it was registered on his status, it was a 5x5 meters room and he smiled at the size but soon used 75 points to make the room be 10x10 meters.
‘Status!’ Kai shouted after the room was finally completed.

‘No big changes… but I do need some more power.’ He thought as he looked around the almost bare room. ‘I think it is time to choose some more upgrades… with the strength we have we will soon be overpowered.’ He thought as he looked around his menu just to find a weird upgrade option. ‘“Bipedal-Four Legged Beast”... what is the meaning of this?’ Kai thought as he looked at the upgrade he could select.
He stared at it then at the points needed for it to be bought and sucked air in. The points consumed would make his DP almost reach zero but it would not reach zero, but the amount… 150 DP for the upgrade.
‘This… is this a good thing?’ Kai thought as he watched his minions working. They would dig with their paws, hunt with their mouth and paws… but it was only that, they could only use their mouth to attack with enough force to kill something and from what he could think once it was stopped, what they could do was to just claw the beast, while they tried their best to try and bite it. ‘Once their heads are stopped they will not be able to do anything… even if their claws are able to do some damage… the body’s form makes it difficult to put strength under the frontal legs if the head is held upwards.’ He thought as he stared at the upgrade he could buy.
All of his observations were done while he walked his dog, which liked to pull its guide.
“Now… do I buy it now or I wait…” He murmured as he looked at the working minions and decided to do buy it now but then he remembered a little detail. “The pregnant wolf… it might damage her insides if I do it now… so I should wait for them to be born before I use my points like that.” He murmured before nodding.
Kai saw the state of the room was and with his own power he dug a few herbs here and there before moving them while gently biting them and placing them all over the room, where he decided to plant them.
It didn't take long and soon they were taking roots on the place Kai planted them and with a nod he lied in the middle of the third room.
“It looks like you're having fun with your dungeon.” Isis appeared before him in her doll body.
“Obviously, though the rate I get DP is small it is still good enough to get them from killing others creatures.” Kai said looking at the AI.
“Dungeon, dungeon’s minions and the people living in this world would give more DP than just killing animals like that, or you could go and start killing monsters… though it would be better to kill stronger monsters than horned rabbits.” She said as she scratched her head with a smile on her face.
“That is still a bit too dangerous, our number is still small and I can't get to kill stronger monsters now.” Kai said looking at the AI. “And killing humans and others dungeons… I'll leave that for when the time comes.” He said looking up to the place where the entrance should be.
“So you're saying that you don't plan to go attacking, but if they attack first you will defeat them?” Isis said as she skipped around looking at the places Kai had planted the herbs.
“That is the plan.” Kai said with a nod. “But I'm not so weak minded, I'll kill them if they comes to kill my own minions, and me.” He added as he stared at the skipping AI.
“Well, it is you, so I think you would still feel weird killing other humanoid creatures like the girl and her father… and even the hunters you scared to death.” Isis said with a smile as she found a small flower blooming inside the cave. “You did not try to kill them, you just wanted them scared.” She added as she looked at the flower.
“…” Kai didn’t say anything as he looked away from the doll. “You can think whatever you want.” He said after a few seconds.
“I know you did not want to kill them… since you might regret it since you too are a human… on the inside.” She said as she took the flower in her hands and soon a wild strawberry appeared on her small hands. “You’re like this, a soft person with a scary looking face.” The doll added before she ate the fruit with a smile on her face.
“As I said before, you’re free to think whatever you want.” Kai said standing up and walking to the dungeon’s entrance while a small giggle followed him.
“Oh, and tomorrow the minion will give birth. I made so dungeons have a high breeding rate, instead of having to wait for several months, just a few days is enough for the minions with cores to have puppies, while growing them take at least a week.” Isis’ voice came from the bracelet as the light on its gem dimmed.
“Good, so I now know that it would be better to leave the pregnants here while the others hunt.” Kai said as he watched how well the Wild Dogs were doing their hunt against the small rabbits.

Laura stopped at her brother’s room with a big smile on her face. She had sneakily listened to her father’s words as he talked with her mother.
‘Brother is starting to get better!’ She thought as she quickly left her hiding spot behind the door and she knew the reason why her brother started to feel better.
“Nathan, I’m entering.” Laura said as she peeked inside the room just to see her brother lying down on his bed.
“Sister…” He murmured and turned to face her. He had a small smile on his lips as she closed the door behind her back. “What brings… you here?” He asked without raising from the bed.
“Nothing…” Laura said sitting on the chair besides his brother’s bed. “Just that I listened to daddy saying you walked a bit, so I came to see you.” She said placing her hand on her brother’s forehead.
“I see… father doesn’t like… when you tell me… stories like that…” He said as he closed his eyes.
“You’re not hot… and I know daddy is mean.” She said pouting. “Mister Wolf did nothing bad and he is trying to do things against him.” She was a bit mad, but Nathan’s face, which was normally as white as a bone had a better color, though it was still white.
“I know… but tell me… why did you come?” He asked as Laura took her hand away from his forehead. “He will get… mad at you… again.” Nathan finished saying as he turned to look at the ceiling.
“I don’t mind… Daddy just can’t see Mister Wolf’s kindness… and here, I brought you something you might like. It is a lucky charm.” Laura said as she showed a small round bag that she had stitched to her brother. “I was making it since yesterday, though I had to hide it from Daddy and Mommy.” She smiled as she placed the small cord around her brother’s head.
“What is inside?” He asked looking at the bag that was resting on his chest. “It smells funny.” He said.
“Don’t tell Daddy or Mommy, they will throw it away if they know.” She said as she whispered at her brother’s ears.
“No way…” He said looking at the smiling girl.
“Yup. I did it.” She said and her smile just grew. “You see… I had a feeling you would like it… and I got that thing from him, so I just made it.” Laura said as she placed the small bag under Nathan’s covers before she patted it.
“Mom will get… mad if she… finds what is inside…” He said looking at his sister.
“I know, that is why I sewed it all, it can’t be opened without tearing it apart!” Laura said giving a thumbs up to her brother. “And if she asks what it is… just tell her it was a present.” She winked at her brother, who giggled as he stared at her winking face.
“Them… I’ll protect it…” He said placing his hands over his chest, where the small bag was. “This present…” He said and Laura nodded.
“Laura, time to sleep.” They both were startled as the voice called for her.
“Then I’ll be going. Don’t let them destroy the charm.” She said leaving her brother’s room.
“Okay…” Nathan nodded as the door closed behind his sister’s back.
“What were you doing inside your brother’s room?” Laura listened as her mother looked at her. “You weren’t telling him some weird stories, were you?” She said looking at the girl’s eyes.
“No Mommy… I was there because I wanted to see how Nathan was feeling.” She said placing both her hands behind her back. “You see… since the Mister Wolf’s herbs came I saw Nathan’s face getting better… so… I wanted to see how he was doing.” She said looking at her mother’s eyes.
“Then that is good, but don’t go around telling him weird stories, he already has a lot to deal with.” She said and Laura nodded. “Laura…” She started but stopped as she watched the girl.
“Yes mommy?” Laura said turning her head to the side.
“It is nothing.” Her mother said before she walked inside Nathan’s room. “Just go to your room, good night.” She said closing the door.
“Goodnight mommy.” Laura said as she walked to her room, where she sighed in relief before she hid the rest of the ‘charm’ under her bed. “Mommy will never think that I shared my treasure with Nathan.” She said as she held a similar bag between her hands.
“Mister Wolf… I want to visit you again.” She said looking at the bag before she embraced it and soon sleep came to bring her to the dreamworld.
