《I am the supreme evils daughter》Chapter 21: Girl meets boy

After nearly an hour of searching I finally found the blonde boy again. He has just been sitting on a low wall outside the church by the gate soaking in the evening sun onto his tanned skin the entire time. When I approached him he did not notice me because he was gazing into the sun with eyes closed.
"Boy! You never told me your name." I say to the blonde boy which got startled by my sudden approach. He yawns and stretched his arms before looking at me with his golden eyes.
"Oi, you sure surprised me there cutie." He responds to me and smiles. I pout and tap my right foot onto the cobblestone.
"That did not answer my question..."
"Hahaha, why are ya in such a rush, lass?" He then slides down the wall and approaches me. "My name is Terion. At least that is what the priestess told me." Terion then put one of his fingers under his lip and look thoughtful.
"Uhm, okay Terion. I am Biali as you know." I put my arms together and look him in the eyes. "So what is your story then?" He then looks me directly in the eyes, and I thought I saw his eyes flash pink for a split second.
Updated relation(s)
Terion (Neutral) → Terion (Friendly)
"Priestess Nana who is like a mother for me. She told me that one day I was found outside the church with just a blanket coverin' me. The priests took me in and raised me as one of their own.
To this day I don't know who ma' real parents are. What, did ya expect a sob story?" Terion sighs and puts his arms together.
Compared to Terion I has had a pretty good upbringing... At least I know my parents and has lived a life of luxury. He then touches my shoulder and I snap out of my thinking.
"Sorry, I was just thinking..." I quickly say as I blush a bit while looking down. After a moment I level my eyes with his again. "Do you not want to know who your real parents are?"

"Nah, they are prolly' up to no good if they kicked me out. I do not hate them, but I do not want to meet em' either."
"Okay. I miss my parents though..." I let out a long sigh and feel sad. Terion then pats me on my shoulder.
"Do not worry lass, one day ya will find them again." He then walks behind me and start waving his other hand across the sky. "Maybe even kick the ass of that bloody wizard which brought ya here!" He then started laughing and I felt better. I then start smiling. Terion is a funny boy.
"Heh, kicking that wizards ass." I chuckle at the use of such crude language as he releases his hand and stands beside me.
"A little cussin' every now and then raises ya spirit!"
"This place is nice. Do you like it?"
"I ain't 'ave much to compare to, but they has always treated me well."
"Compared to home the church is less decorated but otherwise it feels the same." I start reminiscing of my home and of my very own bed.
"How's it like at home?" Terion asks as a feeling nostalgia fills me.
"I live in a huge castle together with mommy and daddy. And in it live many maids too which help me every day. Also the only way in is to go over a long bridge!" Terion looks impressed and skeptical at the same time.
"Are ya tellin' me that ya are a princess or something?" He chuckles and then continues: "Well, ya certainly look the part at least." Terion then ruffles my hair.
"No- Stop!" I protest and revenges with my own ruffling of his hair!
"Ey, ain't ya cheeky!"
Not long after do we both lie on the street teasing each other. We both refuse to give up so we spend the rest of the day playing outside. Our clothes and shoes ended up getting dirty but we got clean ones before it was bedtime.

I am very happy now, for once. Not fighting for my life is nice for a change. I hope I won't get nightmares of that dungeon after settling down here until its time to leave again. Meeting and playing with Terion today raised my mood a lot as well!
Thanks to Terion my opinion of humans was raised today. Maybe not all humans are bad...
Since Terion was the only child my age we spent a lot of time this week playing, talking or just taking it easy outside. I found out that he is an apprentice blacksmith and that he like taking walks along the river.
Terion mentioned that all new children which either enters through the church or orphanage, take a test in order to see if they got aptitude for a trade. Some children which showed aptitude for magic got enrolled into the Royal Magical Academy. According to him they lucked out because they pretty much got their future covered.
I hope that when I do the test that my identity is not uncovered. They will probably imprison me and use me as a hostage against daddy. I just shudder at the thought of being locked up in a dungeon.
At the end of the week sat we all as usual by the dinner table enjoying our dinner. But in the middle of the dinner tapped Nana Weatherhorn her spoon at the table, and started talking.
"Children, as you know; Each year are you all tested for aptitude in either trades or magic.
This year is no exception, so in one month ahead will we all go together to the proving grounds. Do not be afraid, it is like a fair where you can have fun while testing your aptitudes!
I hope you all will look forward to it."
Terion, which now sit next to me now quietly starts talking as an uncomfortable feeling wells up from within me.
"Why do ya look so pale, Biali? Nothin' to be afraid of. Always the same with newcomers... Nervous and thinkin' they need to prove themselves." He then just makes an exaggerated shrug with both his hands up in the air. Aren't you a funny guy?
"What exactly do you do there?" I quietly say as I look at Terion with a serious expression.
"Oi, why so gloom? Anyway, there are several stands with peeps' from different trades. And there also stations where ya can try using magic at. Lads and lassies in funny hats usually are next to em."
"Oh." I look down at the table again. I am still not convinced it is a good idea.
"They got stands sellin' treats like honey roasted nuts and cotton candy!" I perk up and look at him now.
"Ya now look at me like a bear out for honey!" He chuckles and leans back on his chair. "How 'bout I treat ya' to some cotton candy, aye?" He winks as he looks into my eyes, and I feel an unfamiliar warm feeling inside me as my cheeks feel warmer.
"S- Sure!" I stutter out to him. What am I doing? Biali, are you okay? You are not going mad again are you? Ohh, I see how it is!
See what? I wonder what the other me is hinting at. Teehee, not telling ya! For being so emotional you are still missing some things.
I just raise my eyebrows and shrug my head. Terion raises his eyebrows and stops leaning on his chair. Then he just smiles and shrugs his shoulders.
What just happened?
