Cain grabbed these three quests and ran out of his room. He headed towards the exam ground’s feeling energized. There was no better feeling that a chance to get rich quick. He entered the room and first chose the speed exam. Taking on Cyprise’s form, he heard the robotic voice echo through the room.

“Welcome to the speed exam. The previous record was reaching the end of the room in 1.3 seconds. Record set by Joffrey Sinka. The exam will begin in 3 - 2 - 1 - Go!”

Cain shot forward through the room with tremendous speed. He was so fast that he created a sonic boom behind him. He reached the end of the room in .8 seconds, beating the last record. The same robotic voice echoed across the entire core sect, telling everyone about the new record.

“Disciple Cain has beaten the previous speed record of 1.3. New record is .8”

“Someone actually beat those impossible records? I didn’t realize someone so capable had joined the core sect”

“Yeah, that's really impressive. Lets go check out the exam place, maybe they will try to beat the other records.”

“No way, beating one record is hard enough”

“Who knows, it's not like miracles hadn’t happened before”

The disciples all gathered around the exam testing area. They didn't know what was happening inside the exams, but they still felt excited as they took bets on whether this new disciple could break another record, or if he would stop here.

“Everyone listen up, the odds right now are 1:1000. If the new kid beats another record, you will get a payout of x1000 whatever you put in”

“Heh, nice scam. It’s literally impossible for this kid to beat another record.”

“Who cares, I’ll toss in a contribution point. Maybe I’ll get lucky?”

“You’d need more than luck to win a bet like that.”

Cain naturally didn’t notice all the chaos going on outside and continued onto the next exam. This time it was for defense.

“Welcome to the defense exam. The previous record was surviving 8 layers of gravity.Record set by Sefran Imben. The exam will begin in 3 - 2 - 1 - Go!”

Cain changed form and become Minos. The gravity hit down on him, at the start it wasn’t too difficult to deal with, but each layer was twice as strong as the last one. By the ninth layer he was already feeling an extremely heavy force on his back, like a normal man trying to carry an elephant. He managed to make it through, but once the tenth wave of gravity hit him, his body nearly collapsed. He managed to stay standing until the eleventh wave, but couldn’t go any further.

“Disciple Cain has beaten the previous defense record of eight gravity layers. New record is eleven gravity layers”

“Woah, he actually did it. How is that even possible…”

“Who knows, but clearly we underestimated this person by a lot. They probably have strength on par with senior sister Mira!”

“How can this fool be compared to senior sister Mira?”

“That's true. No matter how strong a toad is, it’ll always be a toad that’ll lust after swan meat”

The disciples gathered around burst into laughter hearing this. If Cain was out here he’d have to give them all a beating, unfortunately he was still inside, dealing with the exams. He headed to the final test, the strength test.

“Welcome to the strength exam. The previous record was defeating 5 virtual warriors. Record set by Paul Cruz. The exam will begin in 3 - 2 - 1 - Go!”

Cain turned into his Niel form and started battling, but for once he felt like the record was something that was beyond him. Whoever this Paul Cruz person was, he was clearly an unsurpassable genius that came once in a blue moon. Cain kept trying to fight, but he only managed to make it to the fourth virtual warrior at most. He could never beat the fifth virtual warrior no matter how hard he tried.

He was suddenly reminded of Niels ability, the subduing aura didn’t only weaken and subdue those weaker than him, it also boosted his own power. He released this aura and started the battle once more. He managed to make it back to the fifth virtual warrior after a while and their epic battle started. It took him nearly an hour before he managed to finally defeat this virtual warrior, but the only thing he could think about was Paul Cruz.

He only managed to make it this far due to his ability, but for someone to make it this far on merit of their own strength, they were truly a special character. Cain kept this name in the back of his head. He always held respect for people who were strong, and this was the first person other than Oldman Belmon that stood out to him.
