《The Greatest Gene》Senior Sister Mira

Cain had tested enough so he decided to head back to the sect, but as he was walking away, the Flying Magma Bear followed behind him. He looked back at it and tried to shoo it away. However the Flying Magma Bear was extremely stubborn and refused to leave Cain alone. Cain decided he might as well take it as a mount, it could fly which was convenient. He jumped on it’s back and pointed forwards. The Flying Magma Bear was an intelligent creature, so it knew what Cain was trying to say. It let out a massive roar, before spreading its wings and flying into the sky.
The wind blew through Cain’s hair as he travelled through the clouds. He had never flown before so this was a new feeling for him. The freedom of no longer being limited by the ground, the world below you, spreading out like the most beautiful picture ever painted. Cain shut his eyes as he let this feeling run through him. Before he knew it, he already saw the sect in sight, but he didn’t want to stop flying. Unfortunately however, the sect didn’t allow flight within sect grounds, so he would have to stop here.
He walked into the sect, Flying Magma Bear by his back. The disciples dispersed out of the way, horrified of the Flying Magma Bear. This Flying Magma Bear alone could run through the outer sect untouched, it was simply to strong. These weak disciples were suppressed by its momentum and quickly backed off. Cain found the elder he took the quest from and gave the head of the first Flying Magma Bear he had killed to him. The elder was shocked seeing this, not because of the fact that he had killed the Flying Magma Bear, but because he had also tamed one. These were fierce creatures known for being unbending, to tame one was proof of Cain’s overwhelming strength.

“Uh… Good job disciple Cain. Here is your core sect token. Just show this to the elder in charge of the core sect and he’ll get you set up…”
“Thank you, elder”
Seeing that Cain left the room, the elder let out a breath of relief. He was merely an outer sect elder and had rather average strength, the mere sight of that Flying Magma Bear made his nerves tense. Cain headed up the mountain, the core sect was located at the very top, where the spiritual energy was the thickest. He soon reached the top and saw a few disciples messing around. They were beating up and insulting a disciple who was kneeling on the ground.
“You dare have eyes for Mira. Are you simply insane or ignorant? regardless of which it is, we’ll still have to teach you a lesson”
“Ple-please, stop. I-i-it isn’t true…”
The disciple who was getting beat managed to stutter out these few words, it was a shame that the disciples around him didn’t seem to care about what he had to say.
“Isn’t true? Then how come my brothers here told me they heard you say ‘Mira was beautiful.’ Are you saying my brothers are liars?”
“N-no, ple-please…”
“Do you even know who senior sister Mira is. She’s the number one core disciple. Only our big brother Ander, the second ranked core disciple, has the right to be with her. You’re truly a toad lusting after a swan. You are a nobody and a nothing, it is only because big brother Ander is generous that we aren’t beating you to death right here and now.”
The group eventually left after beating up the poor kid enough. Cain who was watching this whole show walked over and helped the person up. The kid struggled up while coughing out chunks of blood, for a normal person a condition like this would already mean you are on the verge of death. For Genetic General’s however, this would just take a few months to heal. The disciple looked up at Cain and the first thing he said wasn’t thank you, instead it was...

“I saw you watching the whole thing. Why didn't you help me earlier…?”
“... Brother I don't even know you, and I’m not a hero. Me helping you right now is about as far as I’ll go for a stranger.”
“I-I’m sorry brother. Excuse me for being rude. It’s just that my anger swelled up a little after that beating, and I was letting it out on you.”
“It’s fine, I can understand how you feel. However I’m a little curious about why exactly those guys were going after you so hard”
“Ahhh. The core sect is cruel, even a single misstep can cause you to suffer in the future. If you are weak you’ll have to watch your every word and every move. It was my mistake, I said senior sister Mira was beautiful without noticing the lackeys of Ander were near.”
“Who even is this senior sister Mira?”
“You must be new to the core sect brother.”
“How'd you know?”
“Simple, everyone here knows who senior sister Mira is. She’s the number one disciple in the sect. Even number two, Ander, is a large distance from being her opponent. That alone isn’t enough, she’s also young having only joined the sect for 10 years, and yet she’s already achieved number one in that time. Yet the thing she's most well known for above all else, is her beauty. Truly brother, laying your eyes on her once is enough to make you feel like all other women are lackluster in comparison…”

Sarsaparilla's Scary Super Power. Completed
Sarsaparilla is an older teenage girl living on Mars. And, like many other young people around her, she has a super power. Or, rather, she is supposed to have a super power. Only she has never been able to activate it, she doesn’t even know what her super power is. This annoys her, tremendously. But she hides this behind a really sweet smile. Adalace is another teenage girl, also on Mars. She knows what her own super power is, and it is quite a good one. She is also really cute… so long has she keeps her feelings under control and doesn’t let out anything from her dark past. Teylon is a man, currently living on Earth. He likes to think of himself as still young, even if he is over fifty. He’s a bit smug about his successful career and is thinking of retiring… until a sadly unfortunate event leads him to the conclusion that he had better immigrate to Mars. Immediately. Apparently, meeting one’s own Angel of Death tends to cause people to make profound changes to their lives… Mars society had better brace itself, because once these three people, plus another three also not so quite stable individuals, collide with each other, the resulting explosion is not going to leave anyone on Mars unaffected. This is another Esmeralda, the Angel of Death, story. It follows on from my previous two such stories, but it is in no way dependent on the previous stories. They can be read in any order. It is fully written and proof read (using Word for Windows, no real editor touched this transcript) and comes to about 247,000 words (about 895 Royal Road pages). It is organized into 50 chapters and I will be publishing them roughly one per day. In my writing, there are multiple characters and multiple points of view. Each change in a point of view is introduced by a header, giving the viewpoint character’s name first, and possibly a title. Inside a Point of View section, dialog in italics represents the Point of View character’s thoughts, while dialog between quotes represent normal spoken dialog. This story is very much inspired by the anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. However I have only taken some elements from the anime, and changed everything I took to make my own story, and so it does not count as fanfiction. Yeah, I know, the book cover page isn’t very good. It’s the best I could do, by tracing over a stock image. The two ladies shown are supposed to be Adalace and Sarsaparilla. Ideally I would have liked there to be two images of this pair, one where they are smiling sweetly and looking cute, and one where they are looking really angry and dangerous. But that totally exceeds my graphics abilities. You will just have to imagine it.
