《The Greatest Gene》Prince Niel

Cain looked up and realized the exit was getting closer and closer, however with his current strength he didn’t have the power to break through into the outside world. He suddenly remembered the nine strike spear technique, the only problem was that the first strike wasn’t strong enough. He’d have to at least reach the second strike if he wanted to have the power to break through.
“Oldman, if I end up dying here, I won’t ever forgive you…”
“Kid, I’ve already died once. It aint that bad”
Cain readied his spear, and waited for the perfect moment. Right as he was about to smash into the exit with full force, he shouted at the top of his lungs.
“Second…. Strike!”
The pressure from the life and death situation prepared Cain’s will forward. You should know that long throughout history, people who were forced to the brink of death could sometimes explode with extraordinary power. Cain seem to call on this primal desire to live, and forced all his strength into his spear. The spear rocketed forward, and smashed into the blocked exit, it drilled in but seemed to lack just a little bit of strength. Suddenly Oldman Belmon appeared, his spirit wrapped around the spear and enchanted its power just enough to destroy the blocked exit.
The exit exploded into a maelstrom of dirt and stones, and Cain flew out into the sky, and smashed directly back into the earth below him. His arm had fractured since he used a strength that was above his normal limits, however that was a small price for his life. His body was covered in ash and he was bleeding out of practically every orifice. Despite the fact that the pond water nilifed a lot of the crystals strength, it was still an extremely strong explosion. Exerting strength that was above his limit naturally didn’t help his already horrible condition.

The current him looked like he was on the brink of death, however given enough time he could heal. He slumped back onto the earth and used all his power to stay awake, falling asleep out in the open wouldn’t be a wise idea, especially now that he had an extremely valuable object on his body. He pulled his broken body and slumped over to a safe spot. He had spent a lot of time searching Divine Mountain in the past so he knew a good cave that he could hide in. Reaching the cave he instantly collapsed into a coma. Oldman Belmon wasn’t in a better condition. His soul was already extremely weak, and using up some of his power to fuel Cain’s attack put him into a condition similar to Cain’s. He quickly hid his soul on Cain’s body before falling into a deep sleep to preserve and regain his power.
What neither of them knew was that, the second they both slipped into unconsciousness. The vial in Cain’s hand shattered. It was already in a bad condition from the explosion and was on the verge of breaking, Cain’s body hitting the cave floor was enough to completely destroy the already fragile vial. The pill dropped into Cain’s open hand, and started to melt, slowly fusing into his skin. Normally one had to consume a gene pill via their mouth, however this pill was a bit different. The pill slowly melted, until it had completely fused into Cain’s body.
Cain was still a coma, however in his coma he had a dream.....
“Wake up Prince Niel. There is a long day ahead of you”
Niel woke up. He had a throbbing headache and when he looked around the room he seemed confused for a moment, as if he didn’t recall exactly where he was. This feeling didn’t last very long however, because memories soon started to flood his head. He was Prince Niel 4th prince of the Budo Kingdom. His mother was regular concubine of low status, and he himself was quite unremarkable. Even his younger brothers were considered more capable them him.

Niel got off him bed, but he had this constant biting feeling that he wasn’t in the right place, as if he had just taken over a body that didn’t originally belong to him. Niel followed the maid into the dining room. She went to the kitchen and came back with a full course breakfast, Niel was shocked at this treatment. He was only a single person and yet the table was filled with luxurious food. Niel nearly forgot about that strange feeling that was constantly lingering in the back of his head, and dove into his meal.
Half an hour later, he patted his bloated stomach and lied back in his chair, relaxed. He was thinking even if this wasn’t his original body, he didn't mind taking it over. He instinctively knew that this treatment was way better than anything he had experienced in the past. However before the good feelings could keep coming, the maid reminded him it was time to head to his classes. This was the most luxurious school in the entire kingdom, and only nobles were qualified of enrolling here.
Niel thought everything was going perfectly until he arrived here. He suddenly noticed that he wasn’t very well-liked, in fact people constantly talked ill of him behind his back. This school only accepted the most talented, however because of Niel’s status he managed to slip in. His grades were the lowest in the school, his talent was the lowest in the school. Niel felt like the heavens really despised him, to have given him no remarkable traits whatsoever.
“See that person little brother. Make sure you never interact with him, or else people will start thinking less of you”
“He doesn’t look that bad brother. What exactly is wrong with him?”
“Ha, despite being the 4th prince of our kingdom, he has no talent, no smarts, and no skills. He truly shames the imperial family. Just stay away from him, he's a bad example”
“Okay brother…”

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story.
