《The Greatest Gene》Time Skip Gene

To be successful in a genetic fusion, one has to truly know what genes are. The best way to explain genes are like fingers on your hands. To many fingers and you’ll find that they get in each other's way, to few fingers and you won’t be able to get anything done. To many genes of different varieties will start suppressing one another instead of supporting one another, in that case, your power will decrease and not increase.
The human body could only awaken so many genes at once before it would collapse under the pressure. That's why Genetic Warrior’s would only try fusing with another gene once their bodies got stronger. The recommended strength before trying to fuse with another gene was to be a tier 5 Genetic Warrior, however this varied depending on the person’s talent. For example Cain managed to do it when he was much weaker.
The Genetic Union had long ago come up with a rule of thumb, which was simple, don’t bite off more than you can chew. It was much better to choose 2 good genes that could support one another then 100 different ones. Genes were divided into tiers, but they were also divided into classifications depending on how many fusions they have been through. Class 1 genes have never been fused, class 2 genes are a fusion between class 1 genes, and class 3 are a fusion between class 2 genes. Some people try to skip this process and directly fuse with class 2 or class 3 genes, but that's simply asking for death, the power would directly destroy your body. Also genes had to be mastered completely before you could attempt a fusion.
Stone Skin Gene + Giant Gene = Rock Monster Gene
Ice Spike Gene + Golden Butterfly Gene = Golden Frost Butterfly Gene

Rock Monster Gene + Golden Frost Butterfly Gene = Golden Stone Butterfly Monster Gene
In this case both the rock monster gene and the golden frost butterfly gene are class 2 genes, whereas the golden stone butterfly monster gene is a class 3 gene. Most people follow this formula because it's the most effective, they keep fusing their genes into higher class ones to become more and more powerful. What Cain was currently doing was attempting to gain a class 2 gene, by fusing his class 1 genes, but he needed to have something in mind before he could start the fusion process.
Cain soon arrived at the Emerald Auction House and was amazed by what he saw, the entire building was made out of high grade materials. Cain estimated the building alone was worth more than a hundred million credits. Cain was instantly greeted by an android who guided him into a private room, in front of him was a projection of the auction houses items. However, everything was extremely expensive, clearly this wasn’t a place for the poor. Cain changed the filter into items related to time and started scrolling.

“Sight Stop Gene Formula - Class 1”
“Delayed Effect Gene Formula - Class 1”
Cain was intrigued with that last option, he felt like it would give him some inspiration so he directly purchased it. Even though it was a class 1 gene, it could still give him a better idea of what Cain’s class 2 gene would look like. Cain also bought a few other time gene formulas, the wealth he had spent so many months saving instantly disappeared, however Cain didn’t feel bad at all, money was only a tool to further his own strength in the first place.
Cain quickly reached his hotel room again before locking the door tightly behind him. As he was reading through the different formulas, he got more and more obsessed. Each formula would open a door for him and make him feel like he was so blind in the past. He’d compare, analyze, and dissect the formulas, looking at them from all different angles. Cain currently had 5 formulas in total.

Using all this information, along with what he’s learned while training his time genes, he came up with a rudimentary idea. Using that idea as the basis he kept working and working, without noticing the year the headmaster had given him was nearly up. Cain’s eyes were red from a lack of sleep. He had been holed up in this hotel room for so many months, the employees kept coming to check up on, making sure he wasn’t dead.
Cain slowly held up a piece of paper, his beady red eyes were staring at this paper, but his face broke into a smile. His past few months of work had come to this, a single slip of paper with one word circled multiple times.

Gaia Ark
Commander Coop, a four-armed, power-armored, super-soldier, undertakes a mission to assassinate the head of a religious cult bent on destroying the UPSF and everyone they protect. But no mission is ever that simple. GAIA ARK is an action adventure hero's journey featuring a cranky cyborg, vampiric sword, alien monsters, and enough self-discovery to provide a character arc. It's a little rough around the edges, a little crude. I started writing this story on November 2, 2018. This story is mid-composition. Please expect clunky prose, notes [in brackets], and incomplete...
