Suddenly he felt a warmth spread through his body, his cells seemed to jump with joy at the new found strength. Cain quickly opened his stat panel to see his improvements.

Cain decided to not waste any momentum and quickly drank the elixir he was given. The liquid travelled through his body and was like water hitting the desert, each one of his pores greedily absorbed the liquid until it had its fill. He felt the same sensation as earlier as heat spread through his body, his strength rose explosively once again.

Each time Cain swung his spear, a torrent of air would shoot out and hit the wall. With his current power, if he swung full force, just the current from the air could cause severe damage. Cain decided to use his privileges to head to the library and learn some spear skills, his basic spear skills were good but the amount of power they could display was limited.

While Cain was walking, he noticed some students point towards him and whispering, it looked like everyone in the institution now knew about Cain’s feat. However the majority still had their heads held up high, they believed that Genetic Warriors were merely the people not talented enough to become Genetic Researchers. One couldn’t blame them for their arrogance since Genetic Researchers are a much more sought after and influential career, and having the talent to be good in it is rarer then having the talent to be a Genetic Warrior

That was also the reason there were so few places dedicated to raising Genetic Researchers. Cain immediately headed to the second floor, there were 5 floors in total in the library, however the third floor was only recommended for those who had average stats of 10 or more. Cain wasn’t so cocky that he believed he could go above his limits.

Cain quickly picked up a book he had his eye on previously as well as a few others, he also took a book called ‘One Thousand Thoughts Technique,’ an ability that supposedly let a researcher split their thoughts into a thousand. It was split into 4 realms, ten thoughts, one hundred thoughts, five hundred thoughts, one thousand thoughts. Finishing up his selection, he headed back towards his room. He was no longer just another student, now that the headmaster had high expectations for him, he had to improve faster.

Cain quickly entered a training frenzy, he would practice his combat in the morning, and do research at night. It wasn’t long before his ability in making basic tier 2 genes, which were genes with power and potential that summed up equal two, reached peak level. He could sell each gene pill for 5,000 union credits, which earned him a good profit, but the cost of the materials were about 100 union credits, fortunately the materials were provided by the school or he would of gone broke from failures a long time ago.

“Cain open up”

Cain opened the door and saw George standing there, he had a sweet smile on his face like he had just eaten honey.

“Don't look at me like that, you’re scaring me”

“Heh sorry, I was just thinking about my new girlfriend”

Cain looked George up and down to trying to find what feature of him a girl would like. He was big and burly, and if you didn’t know him you’d be afraid to get close due to how intimidating he looked.

“Let’s go out to play, I want to introduce you to my girlfriend and head to the mall. You’ve still got that 100,000 credit reward from the NSCE, you gotta spend some of it or it’ll be a waste.”

“Sounds like you want to leech of my wealth”

“What do you mean leech, were brothers. I spend your money today, you spend my money tomorrow”

Cain shook his head at George’s antics, he decided to follow him anyways, there were some materials he wanted to buy in order to finish a mission. The institution issued missions and upon completion you would get contribution points, his current mission was creating the hawk eye gene. Even though he had full access to the library, there were other places such as the gravity chamber, and virtual arena, that still needed contribution points.

Soon Cain and George met up with a dainty looking girl. she was the complete reverse of George, small, thin, and fragile looking. Cain now understood what the saying ‘opposites attract’ meant.

“Hi, my name is Ela. I’ve heard a lot about you brother Cain, it's really nice meeting you”

“Nice to meet you too. Make sure to treat George nicely, despite his size he's quite sensitive”

George was standing on the side wearing a silly smile, as this exchange went on.
