《The Greatest Gene》Cain's New Fanclub

“...”
Cain was somewhat shocked with George’s arrogance, seemed the big fella didn’t even put him in his eyes, unfortunately he was about to get a rude awakening. While Cain wasn’t a genius in research, he was a genius with his spear, and his strength was rising far faster than his research abilities were. Even his teacher Remy was starting to struggle to keep up with Cain when he suppressed his strength to the same level, and Remy was a well known spear master.
Cain and George quickly noted down their names on the sign up form before waiting. There were only a hand full of names on this list, mainly due to the fact that since this was an institution focused on genetic research, they didn’t put much attention on their combat abilities. The teacher led called up their names one by one, two students Cain had seen before once during orientation stood up on the arena and bowed to each other before engaging in combat.
Cain felt like their moves were full of flaws, there were plenty of moments where one could of taken the other down in a single movements had they noticed the opening, but they seemed so focused on their own performance, they didn’t pay much attention to their enemy. Eventually one of them managed to find a gap and knocked the other one down. Cain was nearly put to sleep by their lackluster performance, he hoped George would be better since he considered him his only real opponent at this event.
George was next, he used an axe that complimented his massive build, his opponent was suppressed by his momentum alone. George ended the fight in a single move, hence Cain didn’t have a chance to see his real abilities, Cain went on and easily finished off his opponent. Eventually it was only Cain and George left.

“Heh, just cause I’m your friend, doesn’t mean I’ll go easy on you Cain”
“Don’t worry George, if you don’t go all out, I’m afraid this battle will end in a single move”
The stop their bickering and started their duel, Cain and George took completely different angles when it came to combat. Cain focused on precision, speed, and power, he waited for openings before striking like a snake, to finish his opponent in a single move. George however leveraged on his strength, swinging with full force each time, hoping to blow away his opponent. Suddenly George’s axe burst in speed, nearly catching Cain off guard.
“I’m surprised you forced me to use my gene Cain. You are a good opponent”
Cain was somewhat surprised, most students at this institution only had genes that affected their brain and offered no real combat ability, but george’s was different, it let him burst out with a massive amount of speed but it didn’t seem like he could use it to often, and each burst would be followed by a small frame of slowness. Cain capitalized on this weakness and managed to thrust his spear right under Georges chin during an opening, he stopped right before it entered flesh.
George had a bead of sweat roll of his forehead, had Cain moved a single step forward, George would be dead.
“I underestimated you heavily Cain, I didn’t realize you were such a combat fanatic, seems you’re skill in this is even greater than mine. I just hope you teach those kids at the other colleges that we aren’t weaklings over here”
“Naturally”
The teacher who was in charge of the event gave Cain a smile, it seemed like they may have a chance of entering the top ten this year, thought the teacher. For their school that hadn’t entered the top 10 in years, this would be an event to be remembered. What the teacher didn’t know however, was that Cain hadn’t even used his gene yet, and so top 10 may not be his limits.

The students who had failed looked at Cain with reverence, they were among the few students who actually had a passion for combat and enjoyed the experience, seeing Cain who was far stronger than them, they didn’t feel envy, instead they felt respect. Cain talked to a few of the students and gave them tips on how to improve their performances in the future, making their respect for him improve even more.
“Senior brother Cain is so strong, and kind to, not like those other geniuses who wouldn’t even bother to look our way”
“He’s also extremely handsome, I could look at Senior brother Cain and never get bored”
“Heh, what do looks matter? With Senior brothers strength alone he could get any woman he wanted”
The students had started calling him senior brother, usually one would only call those above their grade senior brother or sister, but strength was everything in this world, so naturally they called Cain senior brother as well. It was also a way to make themselves feel better about themselves, since by calling him senior it elevated his status and made it so they didn’t feel like they had to compare themselves to him anymore.
What Cain didn’t realize was that, from this little interaction, a fanclub dedicated to him would blossom into existence, and with each feat Cain performed it would get bigger and bigger, until everyone in the school knew Cain’s name.

Void Breaker
Note: Sadly, this story is currently on hiatus :( Elizabeth Sayler had lost everything in the bombing of Reaver Stadium. Her career, her fame, her power — all of it vanished the moment she lost use of her legs. Now, she's beginning to lose hope of ever healing herself… until her world integrates into the Void. When the apocalypse comes in a flurry of System messages, everyone on earth is given a choice: give up what they value most in themselves, and acquire a path to their heart’s greatest desire. Most would hesitate, but for Liz? She has nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. Armed with newfound powers in a world teeming with monsters, she’s determined to not only survive, but to somehow break the Void’s endless assault. * * * This is a small note about the portrayal of disability in this story. As much research as I do and as many people as I ask, I will in the end only be able to understand a small portion of paraplegia and similar disabilities. Therefore, if there is anything particularly disrespectful, please do not hesitate to contact me. I always intended to portray disability in a respectful way in this story, but please know that Liz as a character does not start out with a healthy view of disability. This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.

Besotted
Jericho never thought about gaining superpowers. Like everyone else in society, he simply expected his abilities to manifest on their own, but they never did. With the help of his doctor, it looks like Jericho finally hit a breakthrough, and after a few years of being powerless, things might start looking up for him. Join Jericho and others as they interact in this world where everyone has extraordinary abilities. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ HIATUS NOTE (Please read): Starting June, I will be going on a summer hiatus (around 3 months) to focus on my future career and set myself up to succeed in school. I will still be writing in the meantime and creating a backlog, but I won't be posting chapters. I apologize for this. I wish there was another way. Note: This story has multiple POVs, but the main one is Jericho. The MC grows and develops throughout the story and isn't instantly OP. I try to write ~1500 words per chapter but I write according to what I feel is suitable. (Could be more. Could be less). The content warning tags are mostly for flexible writing, but do expect it or something of the sort. This is a story suitable for older teens and adults. Schedule: New chapter every other Sunday (sometimes Monday if I'm a bit behind).

Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. Farrien welcomed home millions of troops and warriors with the Archdukes of Aerianne and Kanaria leading them at the forefront. Since the founding of Farrien, the Aerianne and Kanarian Archduchies have been pillars upholding the Kingdom from enemies. It was common belief that they possessed special blood blessed by the Goddess Stecia, who gifted the lineage to the first King of Farrien when he first founded the country. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again! The Tale of A Fortunate Slave
In the world of Valeria, The capital of The Kingdom of Albert is besieged and yet our story dose not begin in a stronghold or castle. Our protagonist is not strong or powerful, quite the opposite in fact, she is a ex-slave. An ex-slave that got "lucky" in a way that some fear and despise while others enjoy and like her. This is the story of the quite Ash the slave turned personal servant of the daemon princess Lucy Darkheart. This is very much a work in progress so please understand if there's any mistakes or errors. Not only that but I am a novice so that kind of thing is to be expected. Thank you! Edit: Updates are whenever I make one or two new chapters so expect them to be as inconstant as a dragons fire breath. *Tags and Genres may be added as the story progresses. I have a Twitter now cause it would not stop bugging me when I wanted to look at news for a game, the link is here, https://twitter.com/JustAPhoenix2 . I don't know if it works or not on the edit screen, but you can copy/paste it anyway. I may do stuff there like give insight to some of the more trivial parts of the characters lives. (That refers to ALL character, not just Ash.)
