《The Greatest Gene》Genetic Research

Some people may ask why people would bother using cold weapons in such an advanced age, and the answer was simple, they were easy to make and effective. Most Genetic Warriors could easily dodge an energy gun, and unless the bullet travelled at a tremendous speed it would be hard to nail them down, this isn't even taking into account their genetic abilities which further render hot weapons useless. Cold weapons were also a further extension of a warrior's body and could amplify their strength tremendously.
Cain built up a sweat by the end of the lesson and despite the fact that he felt like he had already mastered these moves, he kept training them. Remy had told him that if you master something, the next step is to take it even further.
Cain was done with lessons for the day, and headed back to his room. Each room had a small place for training and a lab to research and study. Cain was sitting cross legged in his combat room as he went over the basic spear skills in his mind over and over, he would practice, then sit down and simulate the movement in his head trying to figure out how he could do the same move better.
Suddenly he was enlightened, he had neglected his gene ability while practicing, but those two go hand in hand. This time he repeated the moves, but used his slow gene on himself, so while he was swinging with full force, he was moving much slower, he could increase or decrease the effect of the slow gene to put his body at the perfect speed.
Now that he could see could better analyze each move since it was moving at slow motion, everything suddenly became much clearer. He realized how ignorant he was before to think his moves were perfect, they were perfect at face value but were filled with flaws. Had he fought anyone with experience they could easily exploit these flaws to defeat him. He went through all the basics in slow motion and kept reducing the flaws. Once he perfected it, he would increase the effect of the slow gene to further inspect his flaws.

Cain’s movements kept getting smoother and smoother, each move would be slightly better than the one before it. During one of his analyzation, he had a thought, what if he slowed his spear down, but kept decreasing and increasing his force, would it multiply by the time it landed on the opponent? He decided to try it out, normally it would be impossible since decreasing your strength would also decrease your speed, and vice versa, but his slow gene let him maintain maximum power while traveling at a slow speed.
Cain swung his spear and applied the slow on himself, he was moving at about 30% of his normal speed, he had increased and decreased his strength about 3 times before his spear landed on the strength tester.
“10.3 tons”
A normal hit would reap him a score of about 3 tons, so his strength had multiplied 3 times by stacking on top of each other. Despite the basic principles behind this technique, it was impossible to replicate unless you had a gene similar enough to Cain’s. He decided to name this technique Slow Spear. He also felt his strength increase the moment he created this move, it seemed like it furthered his understanding of his gene allowing it to level up, Cain quickly went to check on his new stats.
Strength: 4.5
Speed: 6.8
Defense: 4.5
Genes: Inner Vision : Level - 1, Slow : Level - 3
Cain’s thoughts moved much faster compared to before, he felt like he had trained enough and it was time to get into research. He headed towards the library and borrowed some books on the basics of gene research, he was currently a complete amatuer and couldn’t compare with the people who went to private schools, hence he had to study much harder.

The books he rented went over the 3 steps of gene research, but was much more comprehensive compared to his teachers lecturing. With his increased speed, his brain moved at a tremendous rate, he had already attained a photographic memory. However genetic research was incredibly profound, and despite his increased brain power there were still places that were blurry for him.
The school supplied some material for the students to practice with, however they were only for low grade genes, anything above that would have to be purchased by the student themselves. Cain went back to the lab in his room, and decided to give gene making a shot. He would try to make the sharp nail gene, a gene that did exactly as it said, this gene was quite popular with the poor since it didn’t cost much to purchase, and would still raise their stats a bit.
The human body could only take so many awakened genes, someone with low strength trying to absorb to many genes would be like a man trying to eat a horse, they would just end up filling themselves until they exploded. That's why Genetic Warriors only ever awoken a second gene when they felt their body was strong enough to handle it.
Sharp ore was the main material for this gene, the side materials could be chosen depending on convenience, but they still had to form the same balance, with the sharp ore as the core. The balance would ultimately decide which gene ends up being fused, that's why the same material could form many different genes since each balance would form a different result. “Perfect” in this sense didn’t mean it had to be exactly the same, it just meant the materials had to compliment each other properly or else it would fail or form a different gene.
For example, one of the side materials for the sharp nail gene was green vines, however if one changed the focus and made the sharp vine the core of the gene, it would instead form the sharp vine gene. Same materials, but different outcomes depending on the balance.

The Only Real Cultivator
Vincent was relaxing in physics class when he and his entire class were teleported into a vast other world, where everybody called themselves cultivators and fought with magical martial arts. Vincent gained power over plants, allowing him to turn seeds into all sorts of vegetation. He ventures out into this new world filled with phony cultivators to set the record straight. He can make one declaration with absolute certainty, “I am the only real cultivator!” - You will see an overpowered main character with a cheat ability. You will see "comedy". You will see a normal guy who gets teleported to another world. You will see classic wuxia elements like Qi cultivation and alchemy. You will see grammar from a native speaker. You won't see a ruthless MC who kills everybody that offends him. You won't see harem. It's essentially everything I like about light novels, web novels, and wuxia all shoved into one story. If you’d like an unholy mix of overpowered main character, wuxia, fantasy, and LitRPG - give The Only Real Cultivator a try. 6/1/2020 edit: Some bloke plagerized this book and put it on amazon, titling it "Ancient Cultivator." tbh I'm kinda flattered that I'm worth plagerizing. Still, don't buy the book. The whole thing's available here for free.

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
