《The Greatest Gene》Level Up

“1.15 tons”
An average man punches at around a force of .2 tons, all things considered. Cains strength was 2.5 times an average man, and his speed was 2.3 times an average man which made gave his punch a force of 1.15 tons. Force like that could easily shatter a man’s skull.
“Defense 3”
Everyone was shocked as they saw Cain’s results, especially the teacher, he had been Cain’s teacher for the year and so he knew this young man wasn’t anything special, so his current results shocked him. Cain did only a little worse than Ledger, who used to be the best in class by quite a big difference, Ledger wasn’t use to see someone else take some of the spot light so he naturally was a little annoyed at Cain
“Well done students, especially you Cain. It seems that you’ve held back in the past to explode at this moment. The top three students will be given a pass, using this pass you can apply to Genetic Warrior College, hopefully you guys can get into the schools you want”
The students that once ignored Cain quickly came up to congratulate him, however Cain wasn’t bothered with what they said. He knew these kind of people best, they were on your side while you were strong, but would step on you the second you lost that power. Cain received the pass from his teacher before heading home, the enrollment event would take place in a week, representatives from all the schools will gather at one spot and students will choose the best school for themselves.
Cain got home, before focusing back onto his gene, slow. He hadn’t had a chance to test it yet because of all the things that had happened recently. The main reason Genetic Warriors were strong wasn’t just due to their stats, but also their genetic abilities. The test he just underwent didn’t use any genetic abilities in order to be less biased, however using them could increase a person's strength multiple times.

Through repeatedly using and mastering a gene you could increase its level and in turn increases both your stats and the genes own power. Cain sat down on his bed as he focused, he opened a window in front of him before activating his genes ability, the air that was once blowing onto his body suddenly slowed down, it felt like the air took longer to reach him and the force had died down a lot.
Cain grabbed something random from his room before tossing it up and using his ability, as the object fell back down, the second it was caught in Cain’s sphere it slowed down to about 9/10 its previous speed, while that didn't sound like much, you should remember Cain’s ability was still at level 1 and each increase would make it stronger.
Cain then shifted his attention, he tossed the object up again, but instead of creating a slow sphere around himself, he focused on the object itself. A small sphere a little bit bigger than the object itself appeared it, slowing down its movement by half, a significant difference compared to before.
Cain noticed his ability had 2 forms, an AOE sphere around himself that would influence anything that gets too close to him, or an individual effect on whatever object he focused on, the effect on it was much better, seemingly from having its power concentrated. The sphere around Cain had a radius of about 2 meters, which will probably also increase with his ability level.
Cain ended up playing around with his ability the entire night without noticing, eventually he heard a felt traverse through his body, similar to the time he awakened his slow gene, he felt a sudden increase in power and quickly went to check on his stats
Strength: 3.5

Speed: 4.8
Defense: 3.5
Genes: Inner Vision : Level - 1, Slow : Level - 2
After a night of practicing with his slow ability he managed to actually reach level 2, most people would take years for every level they broke through unless they had some some of fortuitous encounters. Years might sound long, but Genetic Warriors have enhanced life span based on their defense, and an average person could easily live to 100 considering how advanced science has gone over the years. One’s life span was essentially their defense x 100, increasing defense didn’t only increase your bodies durability and regeneration, it also increased the overall level of your existence, extending your lifespan and making your future offspring have far better genetics. That's why powerful people rarely ever had untalented children, because they were considered a higher life form compared to normal humans.
Cain retested his skills after realizing his slow gene levelled up. His radius doubled in size to 4 meters, his slow sphere could now slow anything within it to 8/10 its previous speed, and when he focused on an object he could freeze it completely where it was for a second. His comprehensive strength skyrocketed based off a single level, he could probably beat 4-5 of his previous selves, which was also why each gene level was considered a big break through.
Suddenly the alarm went off, only now did Cain realize the morning had already come and it was time to head to the College fair, however Cain didn’t feel tired at all, his breakthrough seemed to revitalize his entire body. Cain looked in the mirror and corrected his hair and clothes. He was 1.9, his body was streamlined from all his training, and his long black hair reached his waist, he was extremely handsome and his friends used to joke that even if he failed to get into college, he could find some rich lady to take care of him. His eyes were sharp and filled with determination, he was finally heading down the path he had always dreamed of, and he planned to keep marching until he reached the peak.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
