Back home, Yan Xiu sat on his bed as he cultivated hard. He was determined to breakthrough to Qi Refining fourth stage!
One revolution..
three revolutions..
Seventh revolutions..
Eleven revolutions…
Beads of sweat appeared on Yan Xiu’s forehead, the layer that separates him from the fourth stage felt thin but it was hard to breach. Yan Xiu took a deep breath and kept swallowing the qi around him and urging the qi to destroy the paper-thin layer. His face scrunched up. The qi inside his body was running rampant. It was a painful process like his body was going to explode.
Just when he was about to give up, the layer cracked. Elated, Yan Xiu once again swallowed a round of qi. With this new wave of attack, the layer finally broke. Yan Xiu felt his whole body refreshed. The pain from before melted and the rampant qi slowly calmed down. His Zhenqi reserve grew bigger.
“Finally, fourth stage!” (YX)
Yan Xiu looked at his palm and clenched it. He just breakthrough not long ago and he breakthrough again now. Yan Xiu thought the reason he could breakthrough so fast was thanks to many things he ate like the beast’s meat and spirit vegetable. Not to mention, he also fought a lot in the last month. But what he didn’t know there was another reason why he cultivated so fast.
“If I can maintain this speed, I think I can reach the Fifth level of Qi Refining stage before the disciple recruiting!” (YX)
He even thought maybe he could reach the First level of Inner Foundation stage! But after a while, Yan Xiu calmed down from his breakthrough fever. He believed that he could reach the Fifth level of Qi Refining but Inner Foundation? It was still far for him. He cultivated again a little to stabilize his situation before he went to sleep.

“Disciple Recruiting event? Father, are you serious?” (XL)
The father and son sat facing each other in a solemn mood. Xiao Long looked at his father and he knew his father was serious, and that was why he was confused now. He remembered how difficult it was to lose the pursuer from the sect, if it weren’t for his mother's sacrifice, their family would have been killed. But now his father wanted to stop hiding.
“Why?”
Xiao Mushen faced his son and was reminded of his late wife, along with it came his anger and lust for revenge. But he couldn't seek revenge, not with his wounded body. He sighed.
“At first, I planned to let you grow more before leaving alone to avenge your mother.” (XM)
Xiao Long was shocked, his father's word was too sudden. He knew that his father was longing to take revenge against the sect, Xiao Long also had this idea. He thought of growing to at least Outer Foundation first before going but his father had different ideas.
“But, I have realized that even if I go, I would just give my life away. That’s why, while it is shameless, I thought of another way.” (XM)
No, it was just Xiao Musheng accepting reality. That he couldn't take revenge, but Xiao Long could. He just didn’t want to burden and endanger his son, but the Disciple Recruiting event gave him a viable way, a less dangerous way for Xiao Long to take revenge.
“I can’t take revenge with my broken body but you can.” (XM)
Xiao Long never expected his father to say this.
“Me?” (XL)
“Yes.” (XM)
Xiao Musheng nodded heavily, his hand clenched hard. It was hard for him to say this one word since it meant pushing his son to travel a thorny road. A road he should’ve walked alone.

“I’ve thought about it. If you can enter a strong sect and become a Late Outer Foundation stage expert, you can easily take revenge against the Cloud Sect.” (XM)
Xiao Long clenched his fist and felt he was approved by his father. For Xiao Musheng, he thought he was pushing his son to danger. But Xiao Long always thought it was his duty to get revenge, after all, his father was injured heavily because he was protecting him when they escaped many years ago.
“Father, I will definitely enter a strong sect and get justice for our family.” (XL)
Xiao Long nodded heavily at his father. Looking at his son, Xiao Musheng felt that his son had grown up to a fine man. Shui’er, can you see this? Our son has grown up. Xiao Musheng wiped the corner of his eyes and patted Xiao Long on the shoulder.
“Forgive this useless father of yours for pushing to this road.” (XM)
“What are you saying, father? This is my duty as a son.” (XL)
Xiao Long smiled fearlessly, Xiao Musheng nodded. Xiao Musheng took out a gourd and two small cups from his ring.
“Drink with me tonight.” (XM)
“Sure.” (XL)
The father and son tossed and drank the whole night. Unbeknown to Xiao Long, his father had withheld something from him. Xiao Long heard from his father that the reason his father was kicked out of the sect and pursued and the death of his mother was because he was schemed by others and branded a traitor of the sect. It was a serious offense to betray a sect hence why they were hunted down.
But what he didn’t know, there were other reasons and it was much simpler. Xiao Musheng was betrayed. And the Cloud sect was not the only one targeting their family back then.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.

Warden of Success - A LitRPG
In the future of Earth humans are no longer the dominant species. Monsters, vampires, elves and all manners of otherworldly threats now threaten the planet and its people. And for one such as Camille, there was nothing she could do. A failed martial artist, Camille swallowed her pride and dreams, all the while sinking into the world of video games. Until she died. Reawakening with newfound power in her very own bed, there's no doubting that she's an oddity. And as the only individual in the world with the body of a video game character, she's ecstatic. No longer will she just be content with playing games in her dark room, taking over fantasy worlds as a great heroine. Rather, she'll do something better. And that'll be to take over the real one instead. Whether it be mages, demons or other supernatural entities that stand in her way, it doesn't matter. Camille may be a level one at first, but dammit if she wasn't going to try to reach one hundred. This is not a crunchy LitRPG and gradually becomes more of a character driven story that just happens to have a main character with LitRPG abilities. There will be a variety of powers/abilities that are explored later in the setting involving magic systems and other technological advancements. The first 10 chapters were written with satirical undertones, but begin to develop more into its own entity after that.
