Back when Chen Hanchen dragged Liu Feng to Xiao Musheng. Yan Xiu dropped the meat from Bai Yuan's back. He took out the deer meat and cut it into several thick steak cuts. Then he cleaned two fist-sized stone with a flat bottom with spring mist spell, he asked Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu to beat the meat with it gently until it became tender.

The two didn't understand why Yan Xiu wanted to beat the meat with the stone and why did he cut the meat into thick strips. They usually only grilled the meat in open fire until it cooks, where's the need to make it complicated?

But since their senior already left Yan Xiu in charge for dinner, they would just follow his lead. And they were curious about what Yan Xiu would make. They took the stone and started beating the meat following Yan Xiu's instruction.

While the meat was being processed, Yan Xiu went to deal with the eels. He first makes a makeshift cooking board from a long thick branch. He used a needle to nailed the eel's head onto the cooking board and proceeded to gut the eel. The foul smell hit him hard but Yan Xiu already used to it.

First, he made a shallow cut around the back of the eel's head and pulled the skin off. The Blind Eel's skin was kind of rough and looked unfit for consumption. He cut along the stomach and spread the eel open before separating the eel's head and body by cutting behind the front fins. He disposed of the guts, backbone, and back fins. Lastly, he washed the eel with green water, the effect of the green water was good. It smells reduced significantly.

He cut the eel into three portions. He repeated the process and the ten eels soon became strips of white meats. Yan Xiu set aside the eels and went to make wooden skewers. It was easy to make but to fasten the production, he called Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu, who done beating the steaks, to help him.

Soon the skewers were ready, Yan Xiu used four skewers for each eel strips so he could flip it better. After showing how it was done, Yan Xiu let the other two did the work while he made fire and the stone stove. He collected small stones and arranged them into two stove-like shapes and put a flat stone on top of it on one and two long dense wet branches on the other.

When the fire was lit under it, the stone quickly became hot. Yan Xiu took out cooking oil from his bag. If he had a spatial ring or other space types magical tool, he would have brought many cooking tools. But since he didn't have it, he only brought cooking oil and a few condiments.

Lured by the smell, Xiao Musheng, and the others came to the mouth of the cave. Their eyes glowed when they saw the foods. They sat together in a circle and after Xiao Musheng took the first steak, they started eating.

The steaks were still soft despite the thick cuts, the salt, and pepper blend well with the faintly sweet taste of the meat. One bite and it enthralled everyone. Despite the stink smell left on the meat, everyone couldn't stop eating the grilled eel. The springy texture of the meat and the slight salt made the eels a delicacy, Chen Hanchen couldn't believe it was the same smelly eels.

The stinking smell only added more depth to the taste, combined with either sweet or salty soy sauce Yan Xiu provided, it made the eels taste so much tastier. The sausages were juicy and filling. After tasting it and hearing how easy it was to cook, Xiao Musheng couldn't help but asked Yan Xiu if he could make some for the hunters.

The sausages were an ideal ration for going hunting, of course, the meat and other ingredients would be supplied by the hunters. Xiao Musheng would also pay for the trouble. Yan Xiu, Chen Hanchen, and Liu Feng were on top of three different trees, forming a triangle with the trap in the middle while the others were hiding behind the bushes. Bai Yuan white fur would reveal himself, so he stayed far from the group. They already waited for two hours without seeing a shadow of Gudol bird, but still stayed vigilant.

When another hour was about to pass, their prey came. Followed by the sound of powerful footsteps, a group of huge birds came. Two meters tall with dark-colored feathers that covered its whole body except the feet, the leading Gudol bird cautiously observed its surrounding.

It came here after smelling the foul smell of its favorite food. Xiao Musheng signaled the team with a hand signal, telling them to hold their breath so that they didn't blow their cover. Yan Xiu told Bai Yuan to stand down telepathically.

There were at least ten or more Gudol birds in the group, they clustered just a few feet away from the trap. The leading Gudol bird walked out from the group and approaching the eels slowly. It keeps its head low and sniffed the place. When it reached the eels, it just gazed and sniffing it. First was a few pecks before it took a bite and swallowed the eels.

It then cried at the group and the group swarmed the eels fighting for the eels. Xiao Musheng raised his hand as a signal, it was telling Yan Xiu and the other to aim.

Yan Xiu readied his javelin, Chen Hanchen gripped his dagger, and Liu Feng drew his arrow. They aimed at different birds but neither was aiming at the leading Gudol despite it was the biggest one.

When the Gudol birds almost swallowed all the eels, Xiao Musheng dropped his hand. Javelin, dagger, and arrow flew out. With a loud cry, three Gudol birds fell to the ground. One had its neck pierced by a javelin, one had dagger protruding from its eye socket, the last one was twitching on the ground with an arrow sticking out from its head.

The Gudol birds panicked and the place was engulfed in chaos and bird's cry. Xiao Musheng came out and kicked the leading Gudol bird back. Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu also came out while waving their weapons and yelling like madmen, trying their best to be threatening. Yan Xiu told Bai Yuan to ran here while roaring and he came as Yan Xiu told him.

The Gudol bird wasn't hurt by the kick and quickly recover. It looked at the dangerous humans and approaching demon beast. With a cry, it leads the group of Gudol birds away. No one ran after them.

Yan Xiu threw another javelin to the writhing Gudol bird to end its misery and Chen Hanchen did the same. The plan was a success. The reason why they didn't target the leading Gudol bird was that so it could lead the group away after three birds were disabled.

The plan was simple, Yan Xiu and the others were tasked with disabling three birds. And after that, the one hiding on the ground would come out and forced the group of Gudol bird to escape by appearing threatening to the leading Gudol bird.

They took the three birds and began cleaning them. First, they bleed them and plucked their feathers. When Yan Xiu get a clear look of the birds, his first thought was the massive size of it. The beak was thick and powerful. With a touch, Yan Xiu could tell the dense meat and muscle. His eyes traveled to the legs, with the feather gone, the fat legs were bare for all to see. He was imagining how delicious and amazing it would be to eat such a huge leg.

When the last processed Gudol Bird entered Xiao Musheng spacial ring, it marked the end of the hunt.
