Chen Hanchen brought the team to an open space, it was not too big, it was only a room wide. The open space was not far from the camp and thanks to the slanted ground, the open space was visible from the camp. There was many trees and bushes around it, providing a perfect place for ambushes. The wind flow was good for making sure the bait smell spread.
"This place is good. Yosh, let's place the bait here." (CH)
Chen Hanchen walked to the center of the open space and put down the makeshift bag containing the eels. He told Xin Guodan and Shuan Jingu to collect some branches, then he cut the fifteen cm long eels to smaller blocks with Yan Xiu. The eels blood drenched the ground, fifteen eels were cut and ten were saved for dinner. Foul smell engulfed the area.
Chen Hanchen wasn't too keen about it when he heard Yan Xiu wanted to cook the eels, as the eels really smelled bad. But with Yan Xiu guarantee, he relented. He wondered what could Yan Xiu make out of these smelly eels.
When Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu back with the branches, they were choked by the smell. Pushing through the foul smell, the four of them slipped the eel meat block to the branches and stabbed the on the ground. Bai Yuan stayed far away from them because of the smell.
When they were done, there was many branches with eel meat on them sticking from the ground. The stabbed eel head was still twitching, it's mouth moved up and down, testament to the freshness of the eel. It was an eerie scenery. With Yan Xiu spring mist spell, the bad smell on them was erased and they could breathe again. Only then Bai Yuan approached them.
"We're done here, let's go back." (CH)

"Eh, we're leaving? We're not guarding it?" (XG)
"Don't worry about it, you've noticed the smell, don't you?"
Xin Guodan nodded, the Blind Eel smelled bad. Maybe because it's living environment, it's smell was like sewer water. But it grew even worse when it was cut, the foul smell was truly released then. Yan Xiu already used to bad smell so he wasn't bothered by it, but Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu was, they gagged when they smelled it the first time.
"Of all the things that live here, only Gudol birds like that eel. They were a strange birds that love foul-smelling food. But don't worry, they're not scavenger, they just like the foul smell." (CH)
"I see, but still, is it okay to leave it like that? What if a Gudol bird come and eat them?" (SJ)
"They only active from after midnight to before noon, the rest of the time, they spend it sleeping in their nest. So, it's okay to leave it and came back before midnight." (CH)
Having said that, Chen Hanchen walked toward the camp. Yan Xiu and the other two apprentice hunters could only followed while looking back at the bait, Bai Yuan followed them while yawning.
While they were walking back, Chen Hanchen suddenly stopped and crouched behind the bushes, Yan Xiu and the others, even Bai Yuan, quickly followed him. Chen Hanchen was peeking out from the bushes with his face expressing his excitement, the others looked at the same direction at him.
What they saw was an animal with tall muscular legs with supple body, it's tail was long and bushy at the end, a lone long thin black horn on top of it's nose. It's fur was short with beautiful dark brown color while the fur of it's stomach, under neck, and legs was white. The creature was munching on some kind of berry, beside it was a similar creature but with smaller body, lighter color, and with no horn.

"Oh man, we're lucky! That's a pair of Black Deers! Little Xiu, you take the hornless one, I'll take the other! Quick! Before they sense us! (CH)
"Eh? Oh, okay." (YX)
"Either attack their neck or hind legs, don't attack the body or head, you'll ruin this great delicacy. Just make sure they can't run!" (CH)
"Okay!" (YX)
Chen Hanchen took out his dagger and took aim, Yan Xiu held his javelin and took aim as well.
"Throw at my signal." (CH)
"Okay." (YX)
Their breathing synchronized, the grip on their weapon's tightened, the deer's head rose and Chen Hanchen's yelled as his dagger shot out.
"Now!" (CH)
Chen Hanchen's dagger embedded deeply into the horned deer's neck and threw it to the ground, Yan Xiu's javelin was late by a beat but still hit it's target, it stabbed to the hornless deer's hind leg. Chen Hanchen ran out of the bushes with the rest following him, he went to the horned deer and quickly snapped it's neck.
"Quick, kill the other deer!" (CH)
"Okay!" (XG)
Xin Guodan moved and snapped the still struggling hornless deer's neck. When he turned around, he saw Chen Hanchen already hanged the horned deer upside down, bleeding it, then butchering it when it's done bleeding. Without waiting Chen Hanchen's order, Yan Xiu and the two apprentice hunters moved.
Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu pulled up the hornless deer and hanged it upside down, Yan Xiu already took out a knife he borrowed from Chen Hanchen and prepared to butchered the hornless deer. Under an hour, both the deer were butchered. Except for some part, nothing was wasted. The butchered flesh was sitting on top of a big leaves.
Chen Hanchen was staring at the meat with greed and desire, Yan Xiu and the other two apprentice hunters were confused by his series of action. Bai Yuan, however, already knew the reason for Chen Hanchen's inexplicable action after a whiffed of the meat's scent, the smell was absolutely delicious!
After tasting Yan Xiu's dishes, Bai Yuan had lost interest in uncooked and raw meat, but these meat could make him drool even when it's raw, it was apparent just how delicious the meat taste. Looking at Bai Yuan and Chen Hanchen's expression, Yan Xiu knew what was going on.
"Senior, this deer, it tastes good, isn't it?" (YX)
"Absolutely! Their meat usually taste horrible but there are times when their meat turn delicious, when they asleep and when they're eating. To preserve the meat taste, we need to kill the deer fast, before the move too much, as the more they move the more the meat taste deteriorate! That's why I'm in rush before." (CH)
If it was before, Chen Hanchen wouldn't react so much and tried so hard to hunt the deer. But with his tongue conquered by Yan Xiu's delicious cooking, he slowly desired more delicious things. Thinking of this already tasty meat turned even more delicious under Yan Xiu's hand, drool already filled his mouth.
Yan Xiu only sighed and didn't mind it, afyer all, he too was curious just how tasty the meat was. Looking at the meat, he already planned on what dish it would be turned into. In the way back, he collected some wide thin stone.
When Xin Guodan and Shuang Jingu heard Chen Hanchen, they felt he was exaggerating, but soon, they too would be conquered. All the meat was loaded onto Bai Yuan and he carried them like it was weightless as they returned to the camp.

8 136The World System
James Harbor was on his way home from a night shift when his world and his SUV was turned sideways, literally, by a giant beast. With a dark sense of humor, a fair bit of intelligence, and scorn for his fellow man dont expect our protaginist to be a sefless sacrificing hero out to save the world from itself. Instead join a man driven by his whims and given an unexpected headstart in the race for survival. ------------ This story is going to be refined slowly as I write new chapters, cleaning up grammar, typos, repeats, elements placed wrong, etc, I do my own proof-reading which is far from perfect so expect older chapters to be updated frequently with revisions. Release schedule will probably be at least 1 chapter a week.
8 177Condemned
“The human body is a fragile thing. But the soul... The soul is malleable. Easily tainted. All it takes is one drop of blood to dye it all red.” Long ago, in a time remembered only by a few, the seven lords of Syvernia, led by the Great Hero Ludwig, ended the Great Calamity that plagued humanity for as long as time itself. It was the dawn of a new age of man. . . until the thirst for more poisoned the new lords. Slowly, the thread that held humanity together loosened and a thick haze consumed the lands between. Mysterious vanishings, supernatural forces, and silence warns of a looming threat inside the coat of fog. Though the struggle of the realms did not interest Leor, for he was condemned as a Purblight, until he took a seemingly simple job: escort Alden to Lightendale and collect the handsome reward, a reward that would let him live the rest of his life with ease. But it’s never that simple, especially for someone who denounced the Gods. All his life, death followed Leor everywhere he went, cutting down his friends and family. When his first love died at the hands of an agent of light, he was prepared to throw everything away until a mysterious voice promised him a chance for retribution and a chance to bring her back by completing the seven trials. Thrown into the realm's struggle against the approaching haze and themselves, will Leor, a Purblight and an acquaintance of tragedy, use the very power he disdains to accomplish his goals? This is the rewrite of my novel: Condemned; I changed it to past tense and added/ took out some ideas from the original. This is essentially the first draft since I'm writing as I go. Also, there might be or might not be Gore, Sexual, or Traumatizing content. I only put it there for a disclaimer in case I want to add it. I have no set release schedule yet, but I'll try to post once every 2 week. Thanks for your patience.
