The three of them, one demon beast and two humans, were patting their belly after a scrumptious meal.

The sky was dyed orange when they done eating, it was time to head home. The three of them stood up, Yan Xiu and Chen Hanchen turned and walked home, Yan Xiu looked at the White Ape and waved his hand.

"Bye-bye!" (YX)

The three of them then split up, or so they should have. The White Ape didn't leave Yan Xiu and was following them, it didn't bother hiding while following, the ape was following as if there was nothing wrong.

Yan Xiu and Chen Hanchen was troubled, they couldn't have the ape following them to the village. If it did, the ape would be hunted down the moment the hunters spotted it, no question asked.

They tried to explained it to the ape, but the ape didn't listen and stubbornly following them. Chen Hanchen tried to shake the ape off their trail by running around while carrying Yan Xiu, but it was another failure. The ape already remembered their scent and could easily track them.

"Senior, what do we do?" (YX)

"Let me think for a sec." (CH)

Chen Hanchen crossed his hand as he sat down, Yan Xiu looked at the White Ape standing behind him. The big ape was about two meters high, under the lustrous white fur was a body with bulging muscle, it's blue eyes shines with wisdom.

"Hey, why are you following us?" (YX)

"Uho uho, uho uhoho." (WA)

The White Ape couldn't speak so it used hand gesture to showed what it want to convey. It pointed at Yan Xiu and raised it's hand like it was holding a kebab and took a bit at the imaginary kebab, then it patted it's belly with elated expression. Yan Xiu thought it was cute when the ape grinned while showing it's teeth.

"Are you trying to say you like my food so you decided to follow me?" (YX)

"Uho!" (WA)

The White Ape nodded, it wanted to follow Yan Xiu because it thought it could eat another good food if it followed Yan Xiu. But the good food Yan Xiu make wasn't the only reason. Although it just met Yan Xiu, through this short encounter, it could tell Yan Xiu was harmless and kind, at least compared to other humans who tried to kill it. The White Ape was smart and it's instinct was equally sharp.

Back then, when the White Ape was lured by the smell of bananut and came across Yan Xiu and Chen Hanchen, it first thought was to hide and wait for Yan Xiu and Chen Hanchen to leave.

But then, it senses a unique aura from Yan Xiu, it was very comforting and at the same time invigorating, it gave the ape a sense of safety. It's instinct told it to get close and stayed near Yan Xiu, guided by it instinct, the ape reveal itself.

And so, the event flowed to the current situation. It's instinct was right, Yan Xiu were kind just like the mysterious aura he emits and the food he makes was tasty. In this short encounter, the White Ape already spoiled by Yan Xiu's aura and food, it couldn't bear to separate with him.

"Got it!" (CH)

While Yan Xiu and the ape was conversing, Chen Hanchen suddenly yelled out, shocking them both.

"Senior, you shocked me. What is it?" (YX)

"Little Xiu, I got an idea to take him back to the village!" (CH)

"What? We're taking it back to the village?" (YX)

'Weren't we trying to shoo it away?' thought Yan Xiu. Make no mistake, Yan Xiu didn't have any trouble with bringing the ape to the village, in fact, he wanted to. He kinda liked this smart ape.

"But the rules..." (YX)

"I know what you want to say but actually there's an exception to that rule." (CH)

"Exception?" (YX)

"Little Xiu, do you know a profession called "Beast Tamer"?" (CH)

"No, what is that?" (YX)

"It refers to cultivator who contracted a Demon beast and grow stronger together, it is said their combined strength was amplified multiple times. And more importantly, the contracted demon beast will obey the cultivator. Hence, a contracted demon beast can enter the village." (CH)

"So, as long as either of us contracted the White Ape, it could enter the village, right?" (YX)

"That's right, but the one who will make the contract is you. I don't think the White Ape like me, and to make a contract feeling and affinity is important." (CH)

Chen Hanchen looked at the White Ape, 'If little Xiu successfully make a contract with the White Ape, it will add another layer of protection for him.' thought Chen Hanchen. In the hunt two days later, there's still danger even under the protection of the Head Hunter, Xiao Musheng.

But if the White Ape became Yan Xiu's contracted demon beast, he would be safe unless he came across demon beast group or overly strong one.

"Eh? But I don't know how to make a contract." (YX)

"Don't worry, it's easy. You just need to drop blood on it's forehead and establish a mental bond with it. Try it." (CH)

"Oh okay." (YX)

Yan Xiu went and stood in front of the White Ape, Yan Xiu and the White Ape looked at each other in the eyes. Yan Xiu punctured his thumb with needle and show it to the White Ape.

"Will you make a contract with me?" (YX)

"Uho!" (WA)

The White Ape hesitated for a second before nodding and it lowered it's head. Yan Xiu touched the White Ape forehead with his thumb and an instance, his view changed. Everything around him was black, in front of him was the White Ape's will in the shape of a ball of grey fire. He himself also became a ball of fire, only his was green in color.

From the grey ball, Yan Xiu could feel it was nervous. Yan Xiu tried to convey his good intent to the grey ball and it worked, the grey ball's nervousness gone and it was letting out happiness. Thinking it was time, Yan Xiu thinking how to make a contract with it and from his round body a string of green line stretched out toward the grey ball.

The grey ball also let out a string of grey line, the two lines with different color got closer and make a contact. Yan Xiu returned to reality, he thought it was all an illusion but he could feel a bond connecting him and the White Ape. Suddenly, Yan Xiu heard a heavy voice in his mind.

"Master!" (??)

Yan Xiu was shocked, he looked around but he soon found out that the sound was coming from the bond between him and the White Ape, it the White Ape's voice. Yan Xiu turned to Chen Hanchen and exclaimed.

"Senior, I can hear the White Ape talking in my mind!" (YX)

"Hahahaha, don't worry, it's normal. I heard that beast tamer can communicate with their contracted demon beast telepathically, and the demon beast also can talk with human language in the mental bond, although limited." (CH)

"I see! Then, since you're now my demon beast, I'm gonna call you Bai Yuan!" (YX)

"Uho! (me, Bai Yuan!)" (BY)

Bai Yuan hit it's chest in happiness, Yan Xiu laughed and Chen Hanchen smiled. 'Today was full of surprises but it all went well!' thought Chen Hanchen. Then the three of them left the place shortly after.
