《5 Dragon Emperor》Chapter Sixty-Three

Soaring Dragon Continent
Qiu Zhen was going to meet his master. He wanted to ask him a few questions about this tournament, along with his own problems he was having.
Boom!
The door flung wide open and Gan Fang was speeding out. His face was full of sweat and blood could be seen on his face. Qiu Zhen raised his eyebrow and called out to him.
“Brother Gan Fang, what happened?”
Gan Fang noticed Qiu Zhen and walked over to him. “Brother Qiu Zhen… I need to leave. I… don’t know if we’ll ever meet again.” He told him.
“Nonsense! Tell me what happened.” Qiu Zhen urged him.
Gan Fang told Qiu Zhen what happened, which stunned Qiu Zhen. When he left Gan Fang last night, he made sure that no one was around. ‘I shouldn’t have left.’ Qiu Zhen told himself as he hung his head down.
Gan Fang told Qiu Zhen who one of the two women were, which didn’t shock him. To Qiu Zhen, Chang Chi was a dirty man. He would kill his own flesh and blood brother, killing his wife doesn’t come as a surprise.
Qiu Zhen had a good feeling that the person who did this was Chang Chi. One of the main reasons being that the emperor's wife was dead. No normal person would be able to approach her, the only one who could do such a thing was the emperor himself.
Hearing that Gan Fang wanted to leave, Qiu Zhen shook his head. “Brother Gan Fang, you made a mistake in telling that woman your name. If you didn’t tell her, no one would have found out. Letting them know your name was a mistake, but at least we know who is planning this. If it is him, then you are trapped, it’ll be better to not leave so soon.”
“I… was caught up in the moment. That rush… the chance to test my skills… it was foolish of me. However, with the other disciples from our school there, my name would have been found out sooner or later. Also, why wait? If I wait, that would give him time to prepare for whatever he is doing.” Gan Fang yelled.

“Think about it, if you were to leave right now, what would be waiting for you? You are only at the Mystic realm while the person who did this is at the Paragon realm or higher. You wouldn’t be able to survive if they catch you. I’m not telling you to wait, I’m just telling you, you need to have backup.”
“You think they’ll believe me!? Who would I tell?” Gan Fang asked while he flapped his hands around.
“Naturally, think about it clearly. Why would the empress go see you? As for killing her, you could probably do that, she is only at the Mystic realm anyways.”
Gan Fang calmed down after hearing what Qiu Zhen said. Now that he started thinking about it more, as long as he explained himself he should be able to garner support from the others. There was no reason for the empress to go see him, so why would she be dead in his bed? As long as he stated that point, no one would be able to go against it.
“You’re right, I wasn’t thinking things through clearly. After what my master said, and him yelling, it got me even more worked up. I can’t lose my life, not before…” Gan Fang slowly said.
“That’s right, you can’t. Now, go wash up, you can’t walk around all bloodied up.”
Gan Fang nodded towards Qiu Zhen as he walked away. His clothing wasn’t even put on right and his hair was covered in blood. Qiu Zhen couldn’t see the rest of his body, but from what Gan Fang told him he knew that the rest of it was covered in blood as well.
After seeing Gan Fang disappear from his sight, Qiu Zhen’s expression was like cold steel. He placed both his arms into his sleeves as he walked into the building where the elders were located. After walking into the building Qiu Zhen located his master's room and knocked on the door before opening it.

Fang Wei was floating in the air with his eyes closed meditating. After Qiu Zhen knocked and walked in, he opened them. “What brings you here?”
“Master, this disciple bears some news.” Qiu Zhen told him.
Qiu Zhen quickly began to explain the details of what happened last night and what Gan Fang told him. Fang Wei’s expression kept changing throughout the whole story, it seemed like he couldn’t believe his ears.
Qiu Zhen omitted the part that Chang Chi was behind all of this. If he told Fang Wei that, it was likely that he wouldn’t believe him.
“You did a good job calming him down and keeping him here. We should keep an eye out incase that person strikes again. That bastard! Murdering the empress, even being cut into a thousand pieces won’t settle it!”
“Indeed, he should have his dantian broken, arms and legs cut off and chained up for all to see. Kill his family to make sure they can’t have revenge, and when he finally dies, capture his soul so he can never be reborn. A person like that doesn’t deserve to be reincarnated, they shouldn’t have even existed in the first place.” Qiu Zhen replied.
Fang Wei laughed softly. “I’ll inform the headmaster of this matter.”
Qiu Zhen nodded his head. He is nothing but a core disciple, his word wouldn’t carry as much weight as an elders would. This is one of the reasons that he told his master about such a metter.
Fang Wei seeing that Qiu Zhen wasn’t leaving yet, couldn’t help but sigh. He couldn’t read his own disciple, but he could tell something was troubling him. “Speak, what other matter do you wish to talk about.”
Qiu Zhen grinned. “What are you talking about master, this disciple doesn’t have anything left to talk about. But since you want me to bother you with my troubles, let me ask you a question.”
‘Damn brat! You wanted to talk, but you want it to seem like you didn’t have anything to say!’ Fang Wei told himself while sighing.
“What would you do if you met someone who loves someone else, but she doesn’t know it’s you. Let’s also say that you can’t reveal who you really are, for reasons. What would you do?”
“Oh, someone captured your eyes? Who is it, one of the core disciples? Come on, you can tell me.” Fang Wei grinned as he spoke.
Seeing the look on Fang Wei’s face made Qiu Zhen shiver. If he told Fang Wei who his love was, he would probably pry into this even more. If he made up someone's name, Fang Wei would probably go tell that person about Qiu Zhen, or use it against Qiu Zhen in the future. Thinking about it, Qiu Zhen shook his head. “Nevermind, just pretend I didn’t say anything.”
Qiu Zhen turned around and walked away.
“If she loves the person who you use to be, then she should still love you now. Even if the person is blinded by an image of someone else, the souls of those two people are connected by something stronger that the eye cannot see. So naturally she would still fall in love with you given enough time.” Fang Wei told Qiu Zhen as he was walking away.
Qiu Zhen turned around and grinned before exiting the building.

What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
