Soaring Dragon Continent, Black Tortoise Forest

In each kingdom the number of demon beast and their races are numerous, so for any cultivator to know the ability of all of them was truly impossible. Every few years a new species will be born and the ability will differ from the rest. On the Soaring Dragon continent, there are billions of humans, but the number of demon beast are just as many.

These five blue furred foxes hunted in packs and used an illusion to lead their prey into a trap before they ganged it. Even if the beast sensed that Qiu Zhen was only at the first Dao realm they would still gang him, just to make sure they’ll come out alive. If this was a normal person, five fifth dao realm beast appearing would cause one to run. Not only does the beast have the strength of the sixth Dao realm, but fighting multiple beast of the same level would just be asking for death.

However in the eyes of Qiu Zhen the number meant nothing to him, a few years ago he was just fighting a pack of wolves, so the number of foxes are lacking in comparison.

“This is the best you could come up with? Only five of you? Pitful.”

It is hard to say if the beast understood what Qiu Zhen was saying, but the looked at him in a confused manner. Usually if they used this method on another beast that beast would end up crying for it’s life to be spared, but the person in front of them didn’t even look scared. In fact, he seemed excited as if he just found something to test his strength on, this scared the foxes a little. However being demon beast they had some knowledge, it was five against one, the winner to them was obvious.

The five beast charged at Qiu Zhen, but Qiu Zhen didn’t wait for them, he dashed forward himself. His strength is at the seventh Dao realm, for him to kill a beast at the fifth Dao realm is completely child's play. Fighting five beast would be hard if this was another person, but this wasn’t, it was Qiu Zhen.

Qiu Zhen moved quick, one fox jumped at him aiming for his neck while two others tried to flank him. Qiu Zhen ducked the fox coming from the front but he also struck the two coming at his sides. As for his weapon, he doesn’t need it for a beast of this level. He infused his hand with qi to make it make it sharper and sturdier, while he grabbed the two foxes coming from his side by the mouth. His grip tightened on their muzzle and he slammed them against the ground.

Boom!

Their faces bled while the ground beneath them dented in, however Qiu Zhen wasn’t done yet. His hands burst forth with flames that scorched the two foxes to death. The other two foxes took this chance to attack him from behind while he was focused on the two on the ground.

“Brother Qiu Zhen, behind you!”

Swish!

“Collapsing Thunder!”

Gan Fang’s figure flashed over Qiu Zhen’s body while his fist hit against the two demon beast attacking from behind. His fist was covered in blue light, but when it struck against the demon beast it caused them collapse as if they were falling from the sky. The electricity contained in his fist caused them to become paralyzed while the impact from the ground killed them.

Boom!

Qiu Zhen turned around to Gan Fang. “I didn’t need the help.”

“Brother Qiu Zhen how could you say that, if I didn’t help you who knows what would have happened.”

“They would have died.”

“....anyways, it’s good that you are alright you ran off before you let me explain to you what their ability was. However I never would have thought that you would surprise me yet again and hold your own against the five of them.”

Li Haun who just caught up looked at the surrounding, there was four dead demon beast and holes in the ground. If she didn’t know the strength of the person who caused this she would have been stumped, but she wasn’t even fazed.

During the time she traveled with Qiu Zhen and Gan Fang in the forest she has yet to fight any demon beast. Gan Fang kills them when he can but it’s usually Qiu Zhen who attacks them first.

Qiu Zhen started to extract the demon cores from the demon beast, each core was light blue and round. With this the number of demon beast they have killed reached the quota for one of them to pass the hunt, now they just needed twenty more. Qiu Zhen took all four of the demon cores and put them in his ring, “With this, I can take a break.”

Gan Fang was shocked, “Brother Qiu Zhen what do you mean?”

“Huh? I reached the quota for the hunt, why should I continue hunting when I don’t have to. Don’t worry, i’ll tag along though. If a strong beast appears then we’ll see if it can push me to my limits.”

Gan Fang didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, Qiu Zhen reached his quota so there was no need for him to continue hunting. Sure Gan Fang helped Qiu Zhen kill a few demon beast, but Qiu Zhen never asked for his help but he did it on his own. Gan Fang was at the peak of the Dao realm, and to him Qiu Zhen was only at the first, if Qiu Zhen fought against a beast at the peak then he would die.

“So be it, we’ll each kill our own.”

Li Haun who was silent this whole time didn’t know what to say, inside she was cursing to the top of her lungs, but on the outside she appeared calm. ‘Damnit! This fucking bastard doesn’t even want to continue to kill, why is he even here then!”

“Sister Li, I suggest you start hunting your beast next.” Gan Fang had spoken, he would be the last to obtain the cores he needed because they had to venture further inside.

Li Haun slightly nodded her head.

“Ah, speaking of demon beast, what do you think that Black Tortoise left?”

Qiu Zhen wasn’t motivated to look for some treasure, to him the Black Tortoise would never leave something in this forest. If it really did then this forest would be filled with cultivators from all over searching for it, and since even the headmaster of the school had yet to find it, it must be a joke.

“Eh, why are you worrying about that?”

Gan Fang was glad Qiu Zhen asked because he has been thinking about it since they entered into the forest. “Naturally I would, who wouldn’t! The legendary Black Tortoise left a treasure for us to find and you aren’t excited, are you even human! Tell me Qiu Zhen what do you think it is?”

“Don’t care, you should stop talking and start moving, it’ll be evening soon.”

“Come on, what if it’s a secret skill, or a weapon, how about some armor! Maybe it’s something else even grander than those, how can you not be excited about it!?”

Qiu Zhen didn’t think that Gan Fang was actually interested in the treasure that the Black Tortoise left behind. If it really did leave something behind then naturally it might have been found already, or it never existed. Qiu Zhen chose the latter, he would naturally believe that the treasure that his headmaster sought after was only something that appeared in his dreams.

“I hope you don’t think we are going to search for it. If we find it, we find it, if it exists that is. No-”

Booooom!!

“Ahh!”

“Holy shit! You just had to do it didn’t you!!!”

A loud crashing sound made Qiu Zhen stop talking, while his group heard Screaming and males voices that echoed in the forest. The voices were so loud that it actually made it’s way to Qiu Zhen’s groups ears. However if this was a mortal, they naturally wouldn’t have the hearing ability to hear the screaming and males voices, but they would hear the loud crash.

“Wonder what’s going on over there?”

Wonder where did the fifth fox go lol
