Soaring Dragon Continent, Black Tortoise forest

The blue haired female who could be considered a beauty was someone who Qiu Zhen thought he would never see again. It’s not that he didn’t want to see her, more like he didn’t believe she would become an inner disciple while he was one. It’s not that Qiu Zhen liked her or anything, it’s more like she seemed easy to be around.

Qiu Zhen smiled, he hadn’t seen any of the disciples he's dueled become inner disciples, but now he has found one. “Siser Hu Jun, I didn’t expect you to become an inner disciple so soon.”

Hu Jun giggled, “Please brother Qiu Zhen, everyone in the top ten became inner disciples two months after you did. But for you to go from the peak of the ninth qi realm to the first Dao realm, that is something unexpected.”

“Flattering, but you yourself are now at the second Dao realm, this was unexpected. Come, join our group, it’ll be easier.”

Qiu Zhen invited Hu Jun because it would be easier killing the demon beast in the forest, but also because he didn’t want her to have a hard time. When he fought her she didn’t seem to arrogant like the others he faced, instead she treated him with respect on their first encounter. Therefore he’ll help repay her by letting her join his group, with more people it might be a little more exciting.

Hu Jun glanced over Qiu Zhen’s shoulder to find two people standing behind him. One was obviously female, but Hu Jun couldn’t make out her features because she was wearing a veil. However she could see that the girl's body proportions was better than her own which made her slightly frown. The male next to her was a handsome, his short black hair complimented his skin tone perfectly.

After looking the two over Hu Jun couldn’t help but feel somewhat bitter inside, the male who was standing next to the girl had a cultivation she couldn’t even sense, while the girl was at the fifth Dao realm. Hu Jun couldn’t compare to them and if she joined she would only bring them down. However she wondered how Qiu Zhen knew such strong people while he himself was only at the first Dao realm.

Seeing that Hu Jun didn’t agree to joining them Qiu Zhen felt a little sad, he would have liked to gain information on what was happening with the outer disciples. “Sister Hu Jun, before you say anything like me introduce you.”

“This guy here, is brother Gan Fang, while that girl is named Li Haun.”

Gan Fang introduced himself, “Greetings sister Hu Jun, anyone of brother Qiu Zhen’s friends is one of mines.” Gan Fang didn’t have that air around him that the other inner disciples had, he seemed more disciplined. Gan Fang didn’t know how Qiu Zhen knew such a beauty, but he didn’t ask either.

Under her veil you couldn’t make out what kind of expression Li Haun had, but she didn’t introduce herself. This girl truly thought she was above everyone else, and seeing that Hu Jun wasn’t as pretty as her nor had a high cultivation Li Haun didn’t deal with her.

The two males behind Hu Jun almost had drool coming out of their mouths, Li Hauns body was something they dreamt about and with her wearing a veil it made her seem even more enchanting. They both stepped forward, “Sister Hu Jun, lets join them!”

Qiu Zhen shot a look at both of the males, in his eyes was killing intent. He didn’t invite them to join his group, he only invited Hu Jun. “Did I invite you? I’m pretty sure I was only inviting sister Hu Jun to join.”

The two males were greatly shook, they thought that Qiu Zhen was inviting their whole group to join not just her. However they didn’t say anything because they knew who he was and they didn’t have the strength to fight against him.

“Come on sister Hu Jun, it seems like we aren’t wanted here.”

Hu Jun was thinking it over, but she decided that she would follow those two men. One of the reasons being she didn’t want to hold Qiu Zhen’s group back and the other she promised them that she would go on the hunt with them. “Sorry brother Qiu Zhen, maybe next time?”

“Sure! Since you’ve become an inner disciple we should exchange tips and pointers some time.”

The two males behind Hu Jun grinned, it seems that Qiu Zhen is being too hasty. They have known many males that tried to court Hu Jun but have failed, even they have failed to do so. Hu Jun declined every male inner disciples who harbored any lewd intentions towards her. They knew in their hearts that Qiu Zhen would be rejected flat out, and wanted to see the look on his face.

“Ok!” Hu Jun said it without even hesitating.

Both males froze as if they were turning into stone, they didn’t even blink. Hu Jun said yes to someone, and it was a male at that. They couldn’t believe it, they’ve been trying to court her since she first arrived but this guy in front of them got her to say ok without even trying. Their hearts sunk it felt as if the ship they were trying to board was taking off without them at lightspeed.

Behind Qiu Zhen Gan Fang was also slightly stunned, he didn’t think that Qiu Zhen would invite Hu Jun to exchange tips with him. He didn’t even think Qiu Zhen liked any of the females at school because whenever he brought them up Qiu Zhen didn’t even bat an eye. ‘It seems he has hope yet!’

These people were thinking in the wrong direction, Qiu Zhen was only being friendly towards Hu Jun. He had no desire to court her at all, he only wanted to exchange tips and pointers with her and learn some information. If they knew this they would probably drop dead.

The two groups parted ways both heading a different direction into the forest. In the forest there was numerous demon beast just waiting to be hunted, but they also waited to hunt others. Almost all of the demon beast in the Black Tortoise forest had the cultivation at the Dao realm, while there was some that was higher.

While it's true that the Sky Serpent school opens the forest to its students every three months, the forest has a total of five different entrances. The other four are opened all the time and anyone can enter, most of the people who enter come to hunt demon beast for missions. However they can only enter every three months or else they might never return, because the fog is just too thick for them to see through and the demon beast in the forest won’t be blinded by the fog. This makes them easy targets, so no one goes into the forest while it is thick with the black fog.

They have been walking for only thirty minutes but have yet to find a single demon beast, Qiu Zhen’s mood was turning bad. “Damnit, did all these disciples kill all the beast or what!”

Li Haun pouted her lips, “Well if you didn’t talk to that girl we would have advanced and met some already!”

“Like that's the reason, hardly five minutes passed when we talked.”

“Haha, brother Qiu Zhen and sister Li Haun we are only in the outer region. In the outer region you would have to be considered lucky to meet even one demon beast, we’ll only encounter them once we enter the middle. However we must be careful not to advance into the core of the forest, if we do we’ll die!”

Gan Fang has participated in the hunt numerous of times so you can call him an expert. He knows when they’ll start to encounter demon beast and the best locations to find them at also. Usually he participates in this event alone, but he just had to join in on the fun with Qiu Zhen.

“Fine then, brother Gan Fang you lead us.”

As such, their group followed Gan Fang who led them all over the forest. Under his lead they found six demon beast and killed each one of them obtaining their demon core. This number is only four away from the ten one needs to pass the hunt, however for them they still need twenty-four more. In total they need thirty, ten demon cores for each person, not to mention Gan Fang needs demon cores for his level.

Gan Fang had the cultivation at the peak of the Dao realm, thus for them to encounter beast at this level they would have to go until they reached the edge of the middle. It was highly dangerous at that location and all of the demon beast could murder a cultivator just by sneezing on them if they weren’t careful.

Gan Fang pointed towards a demon beast that was speeding through the forest. “Look, there's a blue furred fox, it’s cultivation is at the third Dao realm.”

Qiu Zhen didn’t wait at all, once he spotted the demon beast he shot out full speed ahead. His speed was insanely fast, but the fox was agile and moved faster than him, it seemed to sense his presence.

Gan Fang and Li Haun also ran in the same direction, but Gan Fang had a cold sweat appearing on his forehead. ‘Maybe I should have warned him beforehand.’

Finally the blue furred fox was trapped its back against the wall, literally. Qiu Zhen dashed towards the beast ready to kill it so he can go back hunting.

Swosh! Boom!

Qiu Zhen’s figure flashed and he beheaded the beast. However no blood appeared, instead his hand went straight through with ease as if it was an illusion. Exactly, it was just that!

Swosh! Swosh! Swosh!

Five blue blurs came out of the surrounding forest encircling Qiu Zhen. Each one of their cultivation wasn’t at the third Dao realm, but instead the fifth! These blue furred foxes had to ability to create illusions that would trap their prey, and who they captured was Qiu Zhen.
